“What?” Daven gasped, frowning. “What does that mean? Tell me what is wrong with my father!” He demanded, and he was not even sure if the so-called system in his body could hear him.
He held onto his father’s hand so tight, waiting for a diagnosis to pop up. But then… [Unfortunately, Daven King, you do not have enough points! Perform tasks to get points.] Those words threw him off guard and he wondered how he was able to see the doctor’s illness. Did he have points earlier? What was he doing wrong now? “Daven…” His father’s cracked voice flowed into his ears and he looked straight at his father with a worried gaze. “Are you okay? I am sorry, I failed to see you at the hospital. I had work…” He lied. “How do you feel?” He asked. “He has gotten worse since the last time he visited the hospital.” Arya’s voice resounded from behind. “I don’t know what else we could do.” Her scared tone irked Daven so much that he shook his head with a determined expression. “No way! Father is not going to die on my watch.” Daven declared. “How are you going to do that?” Arya sneered. “We have no money.” Those words cut deep into Daven’s heart but he couldn't tell his sister he might have another way. The sudden system in his body was his only hope now though he didn't even understand shit about it. However, at the same time, the old radio at one end of the room was on with breaking news being delivered. THIS AFTERNOON, TEN ARE FEARED DEAD WITH OVER THIRTY VICTIMS FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES AT THE EAST MALL FIRE INCIDENT… The news was a sad one which caused everyone to sigh as there had been several fire breakouts in the neighborhood. But then the news prompted the system to come alive again. [Attention, Daven King, a new mission has arrived. Treat ten victims of the fire incident and earn 1000 points!] [You have one hour to complete this task! Every information you need is on level one of the medical system!] “Daven, are you even listening to me?” Arya’s shrill voice echoed in the small room, snapping Daven back to reality. “Arya…” Daven whispered, shooting up to his feet. “I will be back.” For a moment, he decided to not think of trying to understand the system. If truly the system was going to help him with his father’s sickness, he had to at least do something to prove that. Even when his sister called after him, he kept moving and soon he rushed out of the house, straight to the incident site. It was a gory sight to behold, with paramedics running around to treat the thirty victims. He looked closer to see that there were only a few paramedics attending to the victims. They were short-staffed. “This is my time…” Daven prepared himself for what was to come. He quickly took a medical overall lying around in the ambulance van and disguised himself, mixing with the paramedics. “Level one of the medical system…” Daven muttered, wondering how he was going to access the knowledge there. However, the system suddenly displayed a large screen before his eyes, detailing everything he had to do. There was no need for him to diagnose the victims because they all had visible severe burns on their bodies. “Oh God…” He whispered, in pity as he witnessed the degree of the burns on most of the victims. He had never been up close to such sights before and for a moment, he doubted his ability to carry out the task. “Why are you just standing there? Look out for the victims!” A paramedic from the side yelled at him, wondering why he was just standing around. “Yes…” Daven nodded quickly, hoping his disguise wouldn't be discovered. He closed his eyes to brace himself and when he opened his eyes again, he had a new resolve. He was going to see it to the end! He went through the level one information again, and it covered other things aside from burns. The information was basically simple first aid with a complex twist and with a smart brain, Daven was able to single out the information he needed. Daven got to work, with his first patient who had minor burns. He started by stopping the burns and cooling the affected area with a cooling pad and water before covering up the burn with a dry and clean dressing. However, the next patient was worse and Daven had a hard time treating the patient. He was no doctor, but as the seconds passed, his hands slowly got better and faster. His gaze sharpened and before long, he wheezed through ten patients with ease. “I did it…” He let out a breath of relief with sweat dripping down his face. He was so overwhelmed, in disbelief as well and he finally came to terms with the fact that the sudden system in his body was real. But then... “Hey, doctor! What did you do to me?” The first patient he treated rushed forward with a bewildered look. Immediately, a frown marred Daven’s face, wondering if he had done something wrong. “What’s wrong?” He asked. “I feel no pain… what…what did you use on me?” The patient gasped, wiggling the burned part of his body like he wasn't in pain a while ago. “Me too… I don’t feel any pain…” Another patient came up. And then another, down to the last patient Daven treated. Most of them had severe burns on their bodies and they were on the verge of death earlier but now, they stood before Daven, questioning him. “Wow…” Daven let out, surprised by the outcome of his action. But then, he didn't know whether he had done something good or he had created some kind of imbalance. Whatever the case was, Daven knew he needed to leave before they drown him in questions. On the other hand, the other paramedics noticed the commotion and they quickly gathered around with one of them feeling like Daven’s presence was odd. “You…” He pointed at Daven, stopping him from leaving. He then looked at the patients, in surprise. “Who are you? Were you sent as backup? We were just five earlier…”

Daven’s Disappointment In Humanity
The class went silent, everyone expecting Dayna’s palm to collide with Daven’s face. He would really learn his lesson and not step into places he was not supposed to be. However, it didn't come. Their long-awaited ridicule for Daven didn't come. He held Dayna’s arm tightly before it could reach his face and in the next second, he threw it away.Dayna staggered with a shocked expression and when she finally stabilized herself, she pointed a shaky finger at him.“You.. “ She was in disbelief. No one had ever evaded her slap that way. Everyone knew her as the boss in the class and she could trash on anyone she chose to because she had a powerful family backing her. Even their teachers wouldn't punish her if she did anything wrong. Now, everyone stared at her, silently mocking her. They were gleeful that she had finally found her match and even though they disliked Daven’s presence, they wouldn't mind him much if he put Dayna in her place. But the class president wanted to stand up for

The next day…Daven stepped out, dressed in a white polo shirt, with a lightweight navy blue jacket and an off-white trouser. Alongside Ari, who was dressed differently from his raggedy self, they stepped out looking polished and quietly luxurious. Ari kept checking out himself in the mirror as he couldn't believe this was him. He had transformed overnight, all because of Daven. “What is everyone going think if they see us this way?” Ari was fretting but Daven was very cool with the transformation. “It's none of their business whether we decide to transform or not, Ari.” He said nonchalantly as they got into his car ready, and as he stepped on the accelerator, he looked at Ari with a meaningful gaze, “But it’s our business if we continue to let them look down on us.”Ari nodded in understanding. Day by day, his friend was boosting his confidence greatly! They drove out of their new house straight to school which was a twenty minutes drive. As Daven drove into the school premises, a
Getting Everything He Wanted
“It's not over yet!” Lady West spat before dashing out of the building. Daven stood back with a victorious expression while Ari was all smiles. He never got to pay her back for sending his father out of the hospital and locking him up in the police station.“Mr. Daven. How would you like to finalize the house documents?” Baron stepped forward with a gentle expression. His reasoning had now been set straight as he realized there was no good in licking the feet of those vile rich people. “I will take the easiest way.” Daven smiled. All he wanted to do was get out of there however, Baron wasn't about to let him go. “Is there anything else you might need? We need to compensate you for attempting to damage your reputation. Anything at all.” “Anything?” Daven asked with raised brows. He thought of the hassle of going to get a car and then the clothes he wanted. If Baron could pull it off and all he had to do was pay, he would gladly do it. “Yes, anything,” Baron responded boldly. Immed

The hall went into silence as Lady West slowly turned to look at Daven with a disdainful gaze. However, she didn't even bother to speak to him before she turned to the sales rep. “Did you hear anyone talk?” She asked, acting like Daven was invisible trash. “No…yes…” The sales rep stuttered, all because Baron who was a few distance away signaled her to compose. However, she was confused. Lady West was an important customer, how would she ignore her for Daven who looked like a beggar?“Did you even hear me at all?” Lady West burst out furiously because the sales rep had said yes. She hurled herself up and before anybody knew it, she sent a slap straight to the sales rep’s face. Pak!The harsh sound resounded in the hall and she was about to send another when Daven rushed forward. “That’s enough, Lady West!” He got her hand, his tight grip holding it in the air. Their contact almost made her go crazy and a rush of intense disgust filled her, “How dare you touch me with your filthy h

“You scoundrels!” Baron yelled, pointing at Daven and Ari as he had become even angrier. “Security! Put them down! They aren't going to leave until they are done with their job.”“Yes!” Two men immediately rushed out and clasped their hands behind Daven and Ari. Ari was quickly held down but they had a hard time in taking Daven. However, Baron now had his attention on Lady West as he kept bowing to her, “Ma’am. What would you like to buy from us today? We have a variety of things to offer.”“Uhmm…” Lady West muttered. “I just want to get a house for my son. He has a type, so I am going to look through and see if you have it up for sale.”“Sure! Sure! We will give you whatever you want.” Baron quickly asked a few workers to lead Lady West inside while he finished punishing the cleaners. As he turned to look at Daven and Ari, he frowned. “Why haven't you locked him down?!” He pointed at Daven who was still standing tall while the security guards were contorting in pain. “Boss, he is

A quick scroll through the comment section of the video didn't make Daven flinch even a little. He had listened to people say worse about him and as long as he knew he was nothing of what they said, he was okay. So he passed the phone back to Ari, “The truth always prevails over the lies. Don’t worry.” A small smile played right on Daven’s face because he knew just how to tackle Maya. He would let her think she had won already only for her to get bitten in the ass. “For now, let’s go get a house, a car for me, and a few clothes. I don’t want to be dressed so shabbily.” He sniffed his body to realize he stank of yesterday's sweat after being kept in police custody the whole night. After catering to his family all these years and finally getting the System that provided him with money, he didn't even think of himself. He thought of his family who later on pointed fingers at him. Now, it was time to do something for himself. A few minutes later, they got into a cab and drove straigh
