Chapter 10: Exit from the Illusion

She couldn't believe this little monster kid had a way to set themselves free from this illusionary dungeon.

"Impossible! Monster Kiddo! Don't get ahead of yourself just because you have a brain installed in your head".

She was pissed at him for the thought of even thinking about leaving this place when she was all tied up there. It was unfair.

Of course, Jiro could hear all the anger and frustration in her voice. She was extremely curious yet furious at Jiro for saying he has a way out.

Jiro took one pair of earbuds from Piano. "Big brother! Since this is illusionary Dungeons, it means everything here counts as a mirage or our imagination which is hidden in our subconscious mind", He said as he started putting earbuds in his ears.

He gently put one after another in both ears with great care. And then covered his ears with another pair of earbuds too.

As they both covered their ears, the extra sound and noises in the background became non-existent to them.

Piano still didn't was confused as to what Jiro was trying to do, yet he had full confidence in him.

"Just like how this place is ticking us, we have to trick it. I realized that after I was thrown inside, this place was still normal, only a forest. But then suddenly, I started seeing things. It's only now that I realized, that everything happening around us is just an illusion. We are just stuck in an illusion, we have to return to reality", Jiro said as he looked at the scenery once again.

He already knows what this place is and how to escape from there, it is very simple. And now that he looks back into Jiro's memories, he finally found out how Jiro died, or maybe he was still alive.

"Okay...Okay! I think I understand a little bit about what you are saying. But I am still confused about everything. I mean, how will this help us? covering our ears", Piano was taking it light-hearted.

Even though everything was going out of his head, he was still cool about it and assuming that how smart Jiro was as he was trying to find a way out rather than doing some stupid things.

"You have to do what I am saying", Jiro's tone changed suddenly, he sounded confident and was taking a lead right now.

"I understand, please lead me", Said Piano as he smiled.

"Close your eyes. Try to focus on thinking about how this place was before you entered inside and the first view after you walked inside. And then clear your mind completely, don't think about anything, just blank your mind".

Jiro said what he wanted to. Piano closed his eyes, he solely focused on thinking about how this place was and how it became after walking in. After thinking all that, he started clearing his mind.

And...

It wasn't just Piano who was listening to him, but even the Demon queen started following the steps and process. Jiro was already at the last stage.

There was something different about this place. There was no actual animal or ghost in here. And even if there was anyone, it was just an illusion ane imagination of oneself.

This place was not called an illusionary dungeon for anything. Due to the spells cast by the Mage a thousand years ago, this place was no longer a house or home for living beings. It became a prison for those demons who previously hurt humans ane tried to kill them.

All those monsters and lowly demons were trapped inside, the spells were strong that no one had the guts or courage to break free. After all, they already saw what happened to those who tried to escape.

This forest originally became a prison that won't have an entrance and no exit.

And among those spells and rituals performed by the mage, the Illusion spell was one of them. Due to this spell, everyone who entered this forest, or those who were already trapped inside, started having illusions.

Your darkest past or your greatest fear became your reality after hearing some sounds which were part of the spell.

So when Jiro said to close eyes and clear one's mind, it meant to create peace of mind. With that...once you open your eyes, the illusion will be no longer there.

"Now open your eyes slowly and don't freak out if you see anything unimaginable", Said Jiro.

Since this forest was no longer living stay, there must be many unimaginable things here.

Piano opened his eyes. It was a quiet place, there were only threes in there and the land beneath them was deserted. It was as if it had been decades since rain fell upon this land. The land beneath them had large cracks, it was due to no water.

Jiro opened his eyes at the same time, and his eyes were seeing the same scenery as Piano. As his eyes fall on everything, many questions flooded his mind.

The forest wasn't dense, it was quite empty and with so much space. Unlike the last time when he was seeing the clear sky and muddy ground, this was completely different.

The sun was shining brightly, the rays were hitting them hard that it was feeling like they would melt in this much heat, and the ground was evaporating with every last water it had inside.

But what shocked them the most?

It was probably the ground filled with humans, monsters, and animal bones. Seems like everyone died the same way. They all had illusions, their darkest dream haunted them and killed them in the end.

"I am seeing a deserted forest with many green trees and dead living beings, we are still stuck inside I guess", Piano said as he examined the whole place.

"You are wrong. We have defeated the illusion, we are in reality, right? This is the reality...we just have to find an exit now", Said Jiro with a hundred percent confidence in his tone.

"How are you so sure?", Piano asked.

"Big brother! Do you remember you telling me that we are in an illusionary dungeon? Just recently I figured that what I was seeing was my nightmare, I would constantly be hunted by wolves and get beaten, that's exactly what happened to me when you were not around. So I guess, It was just my fear...", Jiro continued to speak ahead.

"And you were also seeing what you always dream of in the worst way. When we were finding a way out, there was always a tune playing in the background, it was a too shallow pitch that it was covered with the insects and bugs noise. So I thought, that if we stopped hearing and clear our thoughts, we will be able to break free. And I was right. What we are seeing right now are real land and a forest", He finished explaining.

"So you mean to say, we were getting haunted by our nightmares?".

"Exactly. And now we are out from the illusion, looking at the place we are right now, we are very close to the exit, let's get out of here immediately".

It took them a lot of time to figure out everything, but in the end, here they were.

Even though Jiro was glad that they finally beat the illusionary array, someone has been dragged out by them. And it was the Demon Queen.

Since she was around Jiro, she heard everything and applied everything to herself. And right now, even she was seeing the same scenery as those two.

"Monster kid! I never expected that a child can find a way out. Good job. But I am still mad at you for ignoring me..."

She was expressing her gratitude, yet she was trying to scare him so that he would fear her.

Jiro gave her no damn.

Does she want to play with him? Then keep playing, it has nothing to do with him.

[A hidden mission unlocked. The host has unlocked a hidden quest. Get out of this forest in two hours and the host will receive some treasures from the system store. And if you fail to, he will get a thunderbolt attack from heaven]

A hidden quest opened before him. Just an hour ago he was assigned a task and now he was given another. But this time was different. He was given a chance to either accept the mission or he can either reject the mission, it completely depend on him.

And it was also true, did he have a choice?

First, he was thrown into this world without his permission. Then his soul was inserted into someone else's body. And now he was given this sneaky mission which he had no idea what purpose they served.

"What should I do? I am already on one mission. Taking another will be another headache".
