Selene stood at the doorway, watching with wide eyes as John was being stomped on. “Blake… maybe that’s enough.”

Blake ignored her.

He crouched beside John. “Next time you want to act tough, remember this moment.”

John spat blood. “You… stole from me… I need it back.”

Blake chuckled. “If you need money, come back when you’re ready to pay real interest. Let's say… one thousand percent.”

Then his eyes fell on the strange locket around John's neck.

“I'll be taking this.” He said, forcing the locket out from around John's neck. The locket shattered.

This pissed Blake off. “Useless,” he said, tossing the shattered Locket away.

“No… not my mother's gift.” John said, crawling towards the shattered pieces of the locket.

He clenched his teeth in anger. His mother had warned him never to take off the locket because it was his “lucky charm.”

He had worn it all his life. To him it symbolized his mother's love.

Blake walked away with Selene, who didn’t look back this time.

John lay there, bruised, shaking, barely able to breathe.

His cracked phone buzzed. It was a call from Dr. Martin. But he couldn't move to answer it.

The students whispered, “Oh, I get it now. He was too ambitious and got dumped by the beauty goddess, Selene.”

“I think he got what he deserved. How could someone from the trenches ever expect to end up with a beauty queen like Selene?”

They laughed, and some kept recording. But no one stepped forward to help.

John closed his eyes, and tears rolled down his cheeks.

He remembered when they were teenagers. She had promised to save herself for him alone until they finished school.

They had both worked hard and earned scholarships to Flux Tech Academy to pursue their music careers.

“Why?” John muttered as the pain he felt seemed to increase.

His vision was going dark.

Suddenly…

[Congratulations, The Locket around your neck that was used to limit your abilities has been destroyed.]

[God Tier Spendthrift System activation complete.]

[Current Balance: $100,000,000,000,000 One hundred trillion dollars.]

[Host vitals critical: 2%. Using $1,000,000 to restore health to maximum.]

[One hour until full health restoration]

John blacked out.

….

Back At St. Mary’s Hospital, Catherine was almost done with the surgery when her eyes widened behind her mask. “Oh no…”

“What is it?” Lila asked curiously.

Catherine swallowed hard. “Her brain… it’s far worse than we thought.”

Lila leaned forward. “How bad?”

Catherine’s voice was heavy. “When she fainted, she hit her head. The impact caused massive internal bleeding. The brain tissue is… severely damaged.”

Lila’s eyes filled with fear. “Can she recover?”

Catherine shook her head slowly. “No. Even if she survives this surgery… she’ll never wake up.”

Lila covered her mouth. “She’ll be… a vegetable?”

“Yes,” Catherine whispered. “She’ll need constant life support for the rest of her life.”

Lila’s hands trembled again. “Doctor Martin will never allow that. He’ll pull the plug the moment he sees this.”

Catherine closed her eyes for a moment, fighting the sadness. “I won't let that happen.”

….

Meanwhile at Flux Tech Academy, John’s eyes snapped open.

For a moment he didn’t move—just lay there on the cold pavement, staring up at the sky.

Then the realization hit him like a punch.

“Mother! Oh no! How long have I been here?”

His hand trembled as he lifted his wrist. The cheap watch confirmed it. One full hour.

His stomach twisted.

“She’s… she’s dead…?” he whispered, voice cracking.

He forced himself upright. His cracked phone lay beside him, the screen spider‑webbed.

He checked it. 14 missed calls from doctor Martin.

And next to it was the shattered locket.

The “lucky charm” Seraph had warned him never to remove. The thing he had worn since childhood, believing it kept him safe.

Then memories flooded into his mind.

Before he passed out, there was a strange glowing screen that appeared in the air with messages written on it.

He recalled the female voice revealing that the locket was meant to limit his abilities, not keep him safe.

His breath caught.

“Why? Who would limit me? Did mum lie to me? Is she hiding something from me?” His voice trembled.

“Do I… actually have abilities?”

He looked down at himself. No bruises. No pain. His ribs didn’t ache. His cheek wasn’t swollen. He felt… perfect. Even stronger.

“Was that system real…?”

Just then…

A soft chime echoed inside his skull.

A holographic screen burst into existence before him, glowing with golden light.

Then a woman’s calm voice spoke directly into his mind.

[SYSTEM ONLINE]

[Welcome Back, John Valerio. I will now state your objectives.]

John flinched. “Holy—okay, okay, I’m not hallucinating. You’re actually real.”

[Current Balance:$100,000,000,000,000 - One hundred Trillion dollars]

[Short Term Quest: The Host has one day to spend at least ten million dollars to prove worthiness.]

John blinked. “Ten… million? In a day? Are you saying I can actually spend the System's money?”

[A black credit card will be provided. It is connected directly to the System’s balance.]

Immediately, a black credit card materialised in John's palm. It had golden unique patterns on it.

John's jaw dropped.

“It is like… the ones business tycoons use.”

[Retrieving card for secure storage.]

The card vanished from his hand. John realized that he could make the card materialise and disappear at will.

[Long Term Objective: Discover your real identity and take your place.]

John paused. “My real identity… Hmmm… Do I have another part of me I don't know? Mum never told me who my father is. Is she hiding something from me?”

The system continued.

[SYSTEM CONDITIONS]

[1. The host is not allowed to bargain a price.]

[2. The System rewards the host for gaining the affection of Beautiful Ladies. The host must raise their affection to at least 80 points to hook up with them.]

[Each hook up grants 10 points of Elixir of Life. 1000 points are required to craft the Elixir of Life Potion.]

"Woah!... so having one night stands with beauties is required to craft this special potion. I wonder what it is used for."

[USE: The Elixir of Life Potion can treat any disease and even bring the dead back to life.]

His breath stopped.

“Bring… the dead… back to life.”

His eyes burned with hope.

“Mom… I can save her. Even if she’s gone… I can bring her back.”

[OTHER REWARDS]

[The host gains 1 Elixir of Life point for face slapping and for completing quests.]

[The host gains 1 combat point for every ten million spent.]

[USE: Combat points enhance physical strength, speed, intelligence, and beauty.]

“So I get stronger… by spending money? This system is insane.”

[Additional Reward: For every fifty combat points, the host gains a unique skill.]

John exhaled slowly.

“Skills… strength… money… resurrection… identity… Beauties… quests…”

He rubbed his face, overwhelmed.

“This is too much. But… if this is real… then I will save mom. “ He smiled with joy.

Then his smile quickly faded. “And I will make Selene and Blake regret why they ever crossed paths with me!”

He stood up, trembling with adrenaline.

“System… give me the black card.”

The screen shimmered.

The sleek, black credit card materialized in his hand.

John stared at it. “This… this is just the beginning.”

He headed to the hospital.

Jerry’s mouth opened and closed like a fish. Sweat beaded on his wrinkled forehead. The entire Royal Drive Motors showroom had gone dead silent. The manager’s office was quiet. A man in his fifties sat behind a wide desk. He had gray hair, sharp eyes, and a stern face. His name plate read “Mr. Garrison, Regional Manager.”Garrison looked up from his laptop, annoyed. “Who are you? And who let you in?”Before John could answer, Gaius rushed in behind him, breathing hard. “Mr. Garrison, I’m so sorry for the disturbance. This young man walked in and demanded to buy a property. We tried to explain…”John cut him off. “They didn’t pay attention to me. Is this how the sales team at Emerald Enterprise operates? By judging clients before listening?”Garrison held up a hand. He studied John for a long moment. Then he took a deep breath and set his pen down. “Alright,” he said. “You have my attention, young man.”He folded his hands on the desk. “Which property do you wish to acquire? We have the twenty-five million dollar mansions, the fifty million…”“Don’t bother,” John said. “I’ll take the most expensive mansion this enterprise
