The news anchor’s voice shook even though he tried to sound brave.
"Eyewitnesses from all over the country reported seeing the Silent Beast Dungeons light up for a brief moment before going dark again. But during that short moment, a few C-Ranked beasts escaped a dungeon and attacked nearby factory workers. They sustained serious injuries, but no casualties have been reported. The president says there is no cause for alarm. Experts have been sent to investigate the sudden awakening of the dungeons, which have been silent for over thirty years. But the question everyone is asking is: Will there soon be another Beast Apocalypse?" Twenty five years old John Valerio stared at the TV, frozen in his small dorm room. The Silent Dungeons hadn’t lit up since before he was born. People didn’t even talk about them anymore. They were just old nightmares buried under thirty years of peace. Then… RING! RING! His phone buzzed loudly. John muted the TV and answered. “Hello?” A sharp, impatient male voice replied, “Is this John Valerio?” “Yes, speaking.” “This is Doctor Martin, head surgeon at St. Mary’s Hospital.” John straightened. “Doctor Martin? Is something wrong?” The doctor scoffed. “Obviously. I wouldn’t waste my time calling you for fun.” John blinked. “What happened?” “Your mother, Seraph, fainted at work after a beast attack. She’s here. She needs emergency surgery.” John’s heart dropped. “Is she okay? Can I talk to her?” “No. She’s unconscious,” Doctor Martin said, sounding annoyed. “Listen carefully. The surgery costs $80,000. We need $8,000 upfront. Immediately.” John swallowed. “I… I don’t have that kind of money right now.” Doctor Martin clicked his tongue. “Not my problem.” John froze. The doctor continued, voice cold, void of any emotions. “If you can’t afford the deposit within one hour, I will remove her from the free life support. We don’t run a charity here.” John’s breath caught. “You can’t just—” “I can,” Doctor Martin snapped. “And I will. I’m not keeping a dying woman plugged into expensive machines for free. Bring the money within the hour or say goodbye.” The call ended. John stood there, frozen, staring at the blank screen. He had nothing. He had sold his guitar two weeks ago… for his girlfriend, Selene. She said she needed $10,000 to register for a talent show. He knew how important the show was for her music career. Now he had nothing. Except for one rumor. Blake; the campus loan shark. High interest and shady deals. But John had no choice. He grabbed his jacket and ran out of his dorm room. … The talent showcase was happening in the main hall. Music, cheering, lights. But John wasn’t there for fun. He pushed open the door to the back lounge. And froze. There she was. Selene. Sitting on Blake’s lap. Blake’s arm was around her waist. Selene was laughing at something on his phone. Her head resting on his shoulder like she belonged there. John’s stomach twisted. “What the hell is going on here?” He yelled with his fists clenched. Blake looked up and smirked. “Well, look who crawled in.” Selene’s smile vanished. Her eyes widened. “John…?” John stepped forward. “Selene… what are you doing here?” Blake answered first. “Relax, man. She’s just chilling.” Selene stood up quickly, brushing her hair back. “John, why are you here?” John stared at her. “I am here for a loan. But the real question is; why are you not at the talent show?” Selene rolled her eyes. “Oh please. I didn’t feel like going.” John frowned. “But… you took my money. You said you needed it to register.” Selene smirked. “Yeah. I took it. Two weeks ago, haven't you forgotten about it?” John raised his brows in shock. “Selene, you know how important my guitar was to me. It was my trophy for winning last year's talent show. “But I sacrificed it just to see you grow. What have you done with the money?” Blake laughed. “She gave it to me.” John blinked. “What?” Blake leaned back and spoke casually. “ You see… I sort of got into trouble with my boss. One of my clients borrowed $10,000 and disappeared. I needed the money fast.” Selene shrugged. “So I helped him. What’s the big deal?” John stared at her, hurt and confused. "Selene… that was everything I had. What happened to the promise you made about blowing everyone up and winning the fifty-thousand-dollar prize?” Selene’s expression hardened. “So what? You’re acting like I forced you. You gave it willingly. Don’t blame me because you’re broke.” John’s voice cracked. “So that's the reason you chose him over me? After everything we've been through together?” Selene stepped closer. She spoke in a cold voice.“John, stop embarrassing yourself. You know you can barely afford to take care of yourself, not to talk of me. I am just doing you a favor.” John froze. Blake chuckled. “She’s right, bro. You’re way out of your league here.” John’s anger exploded. He lunged at Blake. “You piece of shite!” But Blake didn’t move. Three huge guys stepped out from behind the couches. They grabbed John instantly. “Let me go!” John shouted, struggling to move, but the three thugs were just too strong for him. Blake stood up slowly. “You really thought you could attack me? Here? In my place?” John spat on his face. “I need my money back now!” Selene crossed her arms. “John, just stop. You look pathetic.” Blake cleaned his face with a handkerchief. “You will pay for this.” He sounded pissed. He gestured to his men, and they understood without words. The guys dragged John outside, behind the building. Students were hanging around, “Hey, check this out. He is probably owing and unable to pay.” They started recording with their phones. John was thrown to the ground. A boot slammed into his ribs. Another into his back. Then all over his body. He gasped, coughing, trying to protect his head. …. Meanwhile At the St. Mary’s Hospital, the atmosphere was tense. Doctor Martin had stormed out earlier, muttering loudly about “poor people wasting hospital resources.” Inside the emergency operating room, Doctor Catherine Hale, the second‑in‑command surgeon, stood beside Seraph’s bed. Catherine was in her early twenties. One of the youngest doctors in the city. Beside her stood Nurse Lila, a young nurse with a nervous expression. Doctor Catherine looked at the monitors and frowned. “Her vitals are dropping again. I have to begin the surgery now.” Nurse Lila swallowed. “Doctor… we’re not supposed to start surgery without the ten percent deposit.” “I know, but I have no choice.” Catherine said softly. Lila looked around nervously. “Doctor Martin will be furious if he finds out. He’ll fire us. Or worse… he’ll blacklist us. No hospital will hire us again.” Catherine took a deep breath. “Lila… look at her.” Lila looked at Seraph’s fragile body. “She’s someone’s mother,” Catherine said. “Someone who loves her. Someone who is probably running around right now, trying to find money.” Lila’s voice trembled. “But the rules—” “Rules don’t matter when a life is slipping away,” Catherine said firmly. “I became a doctor to save people, not to watch them die because they’re poor.” Lila hesitated, then she smiled weakly. “Okay… I'll help." Catherine nodded. “Prepare the operating tools. We’re starting.”Latest Chapter

As they walked out, the entire staff of Royal Drive Motors bowed. Customers whispered to each other. Someone in the back clapped once, then twice, then more people joined in.And behind them, on the polished showroom floor, were two faint scuff marks where Jerry’s knees had hit the ground. The marks looked small, but everyone noticed them. No one would forget them soon.[Congratulations on face slapping Jerry.][One Elixir of Life point gained.][Congratulations on spending 40 million dollars] [Combat points will be added.]At the garage, Martha opened the driver’s door and got in. The door was heavy, solid. It closed with a quiet, thud. John walked around and sat next to her in the passenger seat. The car smelled new. Fresh leather. Clean and elegant. The seats were soft but firm. The dashboard glowed with blue light. It looked like something from the future.Martha put both hands on the steering wheel. She squeezed it once, then let out a slow breath. “It’s so nice,” she whisper

Jerry’s mouth opened and closed like a fish. Sweat beaded on his wrinkled forehead. The entire Royal Drive Motors showroom had gone dead silent. Every salesman, every customer, every security guard… all eyes were on him.“I… I was just joking,” Jerry stammered, forcing a laugh that died in his throat. “You can’t expect a man to…”“You made a deal.” John’s voice was quiet, but it cut through the showroom like a blade. He took one slow step forward. “In front of witnesses. In front of Martha.”Martha stood beside John, arms crossed, but her eyes were wide. She’d never seen Jerry look this small. The man who used to shout at her, who cheated and called it “her fault,” was now shrinking under John’s gaze. The manager of Royal Drive cleared his throat. He’d just watched sixty million clear on his terminal. His tone shifted instantly. “Mr. Valerio, if this man is harassing you, we can have security escort him…”“No need.” John didn’t look away from Jerry. “He’s going to keep his word. Ar

The next day, John arrived at the Moon Plaza Hotel. To his surprise, Martha stood at the doorway to welcome him. Today, instead of her usual formal clothing in a suit, she wore her flowery pink gown. This made John smile a little.“Welcome, Mr. John,” Martha said with a warm smile. “We already have your breakfast prepared in top quality and set as you wanted. Italian crab, Egyptian freshly baked honey bread. All your favorites. Please, come in.”John shook his head. “No, don’t worry about that.”Martha looked surprised. “Mr. John? Is something wrong with the menu?”“No,” John said. “You can share my breakfast with any lucky guest. Let someone else enjoy it today. I want to do something else today, and I need your help.”Martha blinked. “And what can I assist you with, Mr. John?” John looked at her. “I need a car of top quality. I’ve been thinking of the best place to go buy one, but I can’t choose. Too many choices.”Martha smiled. “Don’t worry, Mr. John. You are in luck. I know ju

“Joan!” Vincent said, his voice hard. “What are you doing? I told you not to talk to strangers. You’re new. You don’t know how things work here. Thieves always come around here. You have to be careful.”Joan stopped walking. “He’s not a thief, Mr. Vincent. He’s a guest. I’m just showing him the house.”With that, she moved ahead, showing other aspects of the mansion to John.Anna leaned in and whispered to Vincent. “She’s too ambitious, Vincent. She’s only been here a week and she’s already acting like she runs the place. I think she wants to take your job.”Vincent’s face got dark. He clenched his jaw. “You’re right. I won’t let that happen.” He turned and walked toward the main hall. He stopped in front of a tall glass case. Inside was a blue and white vase with gold lines. It looked very old.Vincent opened the case, took the vase out carefully, and walked back to Anna. He looked around to make sure no one else saw. Then he pushed the vase into Anna’s hands. “Hide this,” he whispe
Priciest Mansion
The manager’s office was quiet. A man in his fifties sat behind a wide desk. He had gray hair, sharp eyes, and a stern face. His name plate read “Mr. Garrison, Regional Manager.”Garrison looked up from his laptop, annoyed. “Who are you? And who let you in?”Before John could answer, Gaius rushed in behind him, breathing hard. “Mr. Garrison, I’m so sorry for the disturbance. This young man walked in and demanded to buy a property. We tried to explain…”John cut him off. “They didn’t pay attention to me. Is this how the sales team at Emerald Enterprise operates? By judging clients before listening?”Garrison held up a hand. He studied John for a long moment. Then he took a deep breath and set his pen down. “Alright,” he said. “You have my attention, young man.”He folded his hands on the desk. “Which property do you wish to acquire? We have the twenty-five million dollar mansions, the fifty million…”“Don’t bother,” John said. “I’ll take the most expensive mansion this enterprise
Seductive Manager
A group of waitresses arrived, each carrying trays filled with different meals. The smell alone was rich and inviting. It made John’s mouth water. They placed each dish carefully on the table in front of him. The plates were arranged neatly, and the food looked fresh and perfectly made.Martha stepped forward. “The food is here, Sir. Allow me to give you a taste.”She leaned over John's shoulder, her breast pressing against it.John swallowed hard as he glanced at her exposed cleavage.Martha picked up a fork, took a small piece from one of the dishes, and gently fed him.“Do you like our service, Sir?” she asked, her voice softer now.John nodded with a smile. “Yes, it’s exactly what I needed.”Martha straightened up. “Good. In that case, I’ll let you enjoy your meal.”She reached into her pocket and handed him a pink card. “Sir, this is my personal contact. If you ever need anything, call me directly.”John took the card and placed it in his pocket. “I will. And please, call me Joh
