Zach stepped out of the sports car and the entire area fell silent.

Everyone stared at him in disbelief.

Tim had built a reputation over the past week as a tycoon in street racing and because of his skills students got to know that he even once held a draw against a world-class racer. For Zach to beat him, and with such a wide gap, was unbelievable.

“Let’s race again!” Tim shouted as soon as his car finally rolled across the finish line. He felt completely humiliated.

Zach smirked. He’d be a fool to race again, after all, his victory had only been possible thanks to the items from his Superstar System.

“Pay up,” Zach said, stretching out his hand. “Then maybe I’ll consider it.”

Tim immediately asked for Zach’s account details and transferred the money without hesitation.

Zach’s phone beeped. He checked the screen and, seeing the credited amount, a huge grin spread across his face.

“Let’s have a rematch!” Tim demanded.

“I’ll consider it,” Zach replied coolly as he walked away.

“You—!” Tim fumed in frustration.

Zach didn’t care. It would be incredibly foolish to race again, he had only won thanks to his Superstar System’s help.

Without wasting time, Zach used part of the money to pay off his tuition fees.

The next concern was accommodation, for both himself and his mother. He decided to find a place for his mom first and deal with his own housing later. Even though he had cleared his fees, he wasn’t interested in staying in the school dorm anymore. He wanted to live off-campus.

Zach hadn’t attended lectures in a while due to all the recent events, so he made up his mind to attend his late afternoon class.

He was a Computer Science student. Since childhood, he had developed a passion for coding, which later led him to pursue the course at a higher level.

As soon as he entered the classroom, a flood of system notifications rang in his head.

+1 Fame Point.

+2 Fame Points.

Zach’s eyes widened. Is the system malfunctioning? he wondered.

“What’s going on?” he asked the system.

“You’re gaining fame,” the system replied calmly.

Zach thought back to the race. He remembered that several people had been live streaming it. That must’ve been the cause of the sudden fame boost. He hadn’t even dropped below the highest gear once during the race, so maybe coupled with his incredible luck at that moment he was able to get some fame.

To confirm, Zach opened his school forum app and logged in using his account.

There it was.

In the Top Ten Trending section, ranked number 10, was the video of his race with Tim. The title read: “The Incredible Yellow Sports Car.”

Zach read through the comments section.

“Who is this guy?”

"He’s so cool!”

“That S-turn drift got me!”

“Is he a fresher? If not, why haven’t I heard of him before?”

Zach was shocked, this wasn’t supposed to happen. The Top Ten Trending Today section on the Elite College School Forum wasn’t easy to get into.

It was called the 4T For short

His fame points were still increasing and only began to slow down when they hit 20. This was huge, considering how ridiculously slow it was to accumulate points in the Superstar System.

Zach decided to properly check out the Superstar System, especially since the lecture was too boring to focus on.

He opened the interface.

Items were categorized into three sections:

One-Time Use Items: As the name implies, these could be used only once, like the Lucky Tablet or the Healing Pill. This section had the most items too.

Skill Section: Items here permanently boosted a skill.

Special Items: These enhanced or boosted other system items.

And most importantly:

Mystery Box: Purchasable with fame points. It randomly awards an item from any of the sections.

(System can be upgraded)

Zach nodded in understanding.

He only had 20 fame points, and the cheapest items started at 100 points.

Still, he was already falling in love with his system. The fact that it could even be upgraded made it more appealing.

But to use it, he had to get more famous. Though fame points weren’t easy to earn, Zach wasn’t discouraged. Good things don’t come easy after all.

“Hey, System,” Zach called out.

“Did you stir up trouble again?” the System replied in a childish voice.

“Are you a dead spirit or something?” Zach asked. Sometimes, the system responded like an AI, and other times, like a mischievous child.

“Don’t slander me! I’m way too cool to be a dead spirit,” the childish voice replied, sounding agitated.

Zach giggled aloud, drawing attention from other students in the lecture hall.

He quickly closed the interface.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the school premises, Howard sat staring at his laptop screen as cold sweat trickled down his back.

On the screen were the words “PAID”, alongside Zach’s profile picture.

How is this possible? Howard thought, stunned.

He knew Zach’s situation. He knew just how hard things were for his family. Paying off those fees within 24 hours seemed unimaginable.

  • Three Days.

Space seemed to warp, and Zach felt everything return to normal. He quickly took out his phone to check the time and saw that exactly 30 minutes had passed. Zach felt a wave of relief. He then tried calling his mom, but even though the phone rang, no one picked up. His heart sank. What if she was already dead? Without thinking, Zach ran out of the dorm. Zach immediately called a taxi. "Where to?" the taxi driver asked as he pulled over. "15 St. Peter, near Solitary Pharmacy. Now!" Zach shouted, showing his urgency. The taxi driver sped off right away. In the car, Zach kept dialing his mom's number, but there was no response. "This is bad," Zach thought, panic rising in his chest. It didn’t take long before he arrived at the address. 15 St. Peter turned out to be a mall. It was large and busy, with people constantly going in and out. Zach scanned the area but couldn’t spot his mom. He didn’t waste time—he rushed to the receptionist and pulled out a picture of

Shock. Silence. Then cheers. "Who is this guy?" Sophia was shocked. Her brother was an NBA superstar who dominated the league multiple times before quitting to become a coach. But even in all her years, she had never seen him do what this boy just did. Daniel was shocked too. He felt like Zach had been possessed these past few days. It was like he had entered God mode. Was this the power of a breakup? Maybe he should find a girl and let her break his heart too. Eric was silent as he looked at Zach. "Congrats. You earned your place in the team," he finally said. "Thank you, coach. I won't let you down," Zach replied, happy. Just then, the system started to beep. +5 fame points +5 fame points Zach expected this. What he did was too amazing, and he might even break into the top three of the school’s 4T list today. Zach felt good now. "We will continue practice tomorrow," Eric said. "Let's go," he told Sophia. • 100 Perfect Throws.

Zach had a pale expression. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to come for practice, it was just that many things had troubled him during that period, and he didn’t even have money for food, so how would he have the strength to play basketball? The crowd of players split into two groups. What a huge number, Zach was amazed. Many were just like him, showing up only when there was something to gain. “Now kindly leave the hall for us,” Eric said with a cold voice. Zach couldn’t just leave. He needed the money, and he was also a very skilled basketball player. How could he walk away just like that? Zach knew Eric well enough to know the only way he could get on the team now was to impress him more than he could ever imagine. But Zach was unwilling to use his lucky tablets just to get on the team that he was on already. What would he use on the final day, when his skills were needed the most? “Coach, I didn’t slack off, I was just too busy to come,” Zach spoke up. Eric turned his attent

The next day after the race, Zach looked at his game points, it was 25, an increase by 5. But, there was something else he had been doing this past few days. Online bantering. Tim kept calling him out in the school forum to come race him again if he had the guts, but Zach refused and Tim began to call him names. Zach lost it when his mother was mentioned again. So he calmly brought out the demon writer in him. "Dear Tim, are you a coward or were you trained by animals or maybe your dad is one? Because I see no reason why a loser can't accept he lost, keep rapping like a dog, I'm done with you." Zach typed. The school forum exploded with Zach dropping that message and a line stood out. "Were you trained by an animal? Or maybe your dad is one?" His Account which had the name "IamZach" Immediately started gaining followers. The comment section had comments like: "Hey you above me were you trained by a Monkey or maybe your father is one?" Tim went silent after that. Making
