Chapter One: The System

Tahir was walking down the hallway when a fat boy with short red hair, standing a few meters from the stairs, shouted,

"Hey freak, try not to fall, as people without ability are keen to die easily!"

After saying his taunt, Tahir remained calm as he looked at the fat boy. A wild smile

spread across his face as he raised his middle finger and said, "I didn't remember asking for your advice."

Enraged, the fat boy produced two blue flames from his hands and hurled them straight at Tahir.

Tahir, used to pain, awaited the fire to collide with his body. However, he felt a cold feeling.

Raising his head up, he could see a tall girl with white hair.

The girl slammed her feet on the ground as an ice slab rose from there and took the hit. Not

even a scratch was seen on it. Raising her hand, she created an ice spear and hurled it at the

boy.

The spear was inches away from the boy's face, as if a force was holding it. The boy was sweating profusely. He could see death standing right in front of him. He couldn't believe a girl could make him this scared.

"Please don't kill me," he said while falling on his knees.

"Stand up and leave," the girl barked at the boy.

The boy scurried away. Turning to face Tahir, she could see his face void of emotion. He wasn't

scared, nor was he surprised. Stretching out her hand for a shake, she said, "I'm Zahra, sorry

for what happened..." She didn't finish her words when Tahir muttered, "Thank you," and hurried

away.

Zahra was left speechless as Tahir hurriedly left.

On his way home, Tahir could see a lot of students exchanging home addresses, While the lovers were holding hands. The only thing on Tahir's mind was how to get home and continue on with his inventions.

On reaching the emptiness he called a home.

He lives in a one-bedroom apartment. How he got here is a very long story. The room has enough space for his bed and a desk for reading. Around the corner is his reading cabinet. Though they are all old books, they are very important to him. One

of the books he was reading was "The Pinnacle of Death." Opposite His reading cabinet was a large desk with lights on it, his inventions were all spread out on the table. His TV is mounted on the wall. He usually just uses it as background noise and a reading light.

After finished eating, Tahir hopped on his bed and turned on the TV, at least for its sole

purpose, background distraction. With the sound coming from the TV, he felt less lonely.

Upon turning on the TV, there was an ongoing news report. A war bell has Been sounded.

"The peace treaty with the damn Aliens has lasted for over 6 years now, and it seems the aliens

want to breach the agreement. We are to prepare for another war..."

The mention of war has been everywhere, ranging from commercial stores, schools, hospitals,

and even radio stations.

It all dates back to around 20 years ago when a certain race appeared on Earth, demanding our

resources and demanding that we turn ourselves in, the humans refused and a war kicked in.

A war that nearly caused the extinction of every human on Earth.

This unknown race which arrived on earth has no record from where they came from thus earning the name "Aliens" they also have the physique of a human with scales and tails.

The war was so intense that everyone was asked to join regardless of gender, sadly Tahir both parents got enlisted and sent to the war front and didn't come back Alive, leading to Tahir not knowing what his parents looked like.

Just when the humans were on the brink of extinction, Some certain humans who were born with or given special abilities came forward to share their knowledge with others. They began sharing.

how they obtained such powers in the hopes of turning the tide in the war, and fortunately, it

worked.

The Aliens found the humans' new power growing stronger hence requested for a peace treaty.

This treaty give the human enough time to prepare Incase the was a second way, the humans have also been keeping tabs on the Aliens and found out they were up to something, thus leading to the establishment of a military academy, an academy where you will be trained with an ability, an academy which solely purpose was to create an army.

Tahir was lost in thoughts when his doorbell rang.

Standing up Tahir headed to the door he opened the door and saw nobody there, all he saw was a package and letter on the ground. Picking both up he headed inside to open it.

"I wasn't expecting any package and I got no friends so who could possibly send this? Either way I gotta open this up." Tahir said to himself.

Upon opening the letter he saw it was a letter from the military academy 2nd division. Congratulating him on his application been accepted to come to the school.

Congratulations Tahir.

We are pleased to inform you of your application, it has been reviewed and you are successfully accepted to our prestigious academy. A tough and entirely new life awaits you. Prepare yourself young lad as a van would be coming to pick you up tomorrow. We await you in our prestigious academy.

Signed: Military academy division II.

"Uhmm, I didn't remember requesting to go to any military school. All I wanted was to become a beast hunter and earn a living. Sigh I guess I just have to go with the flow".

"Time to Open the box" Tahir muttered.

Opening the box Tahir found a writing on a piece of paper, the funny thing was that the writing looks like it was written with blood. The writing says proof you are from the bloodline of the Tahirs, chant the family Motto.

With that Tahir started.

"Fear is the beginning of weakness, anger is weakness. Control the two and you would become unstoppable. Anger can be controlled to strength, dispose of fear as it is useless".

After chanting the exact words, the paper was starting to fade as it was replaced with a bright light. Immediately the light shone Tahir passed out.

Waking up Tahir was feeling some slight headache, rubbing his head he could hear voices in his head.

Feeling confused, he checked the box again. This time he saw a word on the box, the words written was system.

Immediately Tahir pronounced those words a tab pop up right in front of him.

[User: Tahir]

[Race: Human]

[Level: 1]

[0/100 exp]

[HP: 10/10]

[Strength: 10]

[Agility: 10]

[Stamina: 10]

"Holy shit" Tahir muttered.

Immediately voices in his head murmured wow at the same time.

He saw an arrow indicating he could swiped to his left. Swiping the tab sideways the skill section pops up.

[Inventory]

[Currently not available, unlock at level 5]

[Skills]

[0 skill points available]

[Skill locked????]

[Skill locked????]

But they are all blurred. Why are they blurred? Tahir asked, when one of the voices in his head replied

"you are supposed to pass quest to unlock them dummy, haven't you played games before or you are just naturally stupid"? The annoying voice in his head asked.

"Chill he's just anxious no need to be harsh", the other voice intercepted on behalf of Tahir.

Tahir swiped sideways again and the shop tab popped up right in front

of him, just like the others.

[Shop]

[Unlocks at level 10]

It was also blurred out.

Just when he was about to give up, Tahir saw an icon with a number one shining on it and swiped sideways again that when the quest tab popped up.

[Quest] tab.

Finally, it seemed like a tab that wasn't locked behind a requirement.

[Main Quest]

[Reach level 10]

[Daily Quest: Survive the sunlight long enough]

[Reward: 5 exp]

"So let me get this straight this system is like a game where you complete quest to earn XP then once you get 100 XP your level evolves, impressive" one of the voices said.

"Who the hell are you two?" Tahir yelled in his head.

"Allow us to introduce ourselves...".

"Just shut up I don't need any introduction, just leave my head" Tahir interrupted.

"I'm afraid that request is impossible."

"What do you mean it is impossible?"

"Let me break it down for you kid, we ain't going anywhere, and just so you know we were never interested in getting known we preferred how we were hiding, but it looks like your system thingy screwed with your head, so you see kid it all your damn fault."

"Ohh so you blaming me now? You guys are bothering me" Tahir screamed in his head.

Tahir was busy arguing when he heard a car honk outside.

"Wait, it 's morning already? How long did I sleep after passing out?" He asked no one in particular.

Packing his inventions and tools in his backpack Tahir was set to leave.

Opening the door and he was meet with a military officer who was a large, muscular, bald-headed man wearing a black military uniform, signifying the

earth attribute. There were several medals on his garment. His name was written on the area of

the uniform right above his chest - 'Sergeant Bill.'

"I'm sergeant Bill and we have been waiting for you since, soldier".

Upon stepping outside and the sun rays hit him, a prompt popped up.

[Your body is being hit by direct sunlight]

[You are affected by the sunlight]

[Your vampire nature is kicking in]

[All stats will be halved while you are exposed to the sunlight].

"What,? doesn't that make you a vampire?"One of the voices in his head asked out.

Ignoring the question, Tahir noticed a change in his body. His entire body felt as if he ran a marathon rice with a bull on his shoulder all through. His legs were so heavy he could hardly walk .

HP 5/5]

[Strength 5/5]

[Stamina 5/5]

[Agility 5/5]

"What kind of drawback is this?!" Tahir wanted to scream out, but he was still aware that he was no longer alone.

He was still staring at the screen as another notification appeared.

[You have received a new quest]

[Daily quest: Avoid direct sunlight for 8 hours]

[Reward: 5 Exp].

"Now this is getting interesting," Tahir said to himself with a smirk.

Tahir's mood changed as soon as he saw the new daily quest.

He was walking forward until he reached the bus in front of him, just then something came to his mind.

He Realized that he didn't recognise any of the students. That could only mean that they had all come from a different school and a different city. He felt a little relieved. With these new people, maybe the bullying would stop. Since nobody knew him, he had a chance to go away from the bullying and a chance to live a normal life.

He opted to sit at the back of the bus, away from the crowd. And since it was the only seat that was still available his request was granted. The screen popped up in front of him immediately as he sat down.

[Stats have returned to normal]

It appeared that avoiding direct sunlight meant his stats would instantly return to normal. He was happy about it, since his body felt alive once again. As if new and raw energy was injected to his body.

The students were all anxiously waiting for sergeant Bill to get into the car.

"Alright, it's time for us to head to the military academy," he announced, signaling the driver to begin their departure.

The bus jerked to life and started to move. The students were finally on their way. There was silence in the bus throughout the journey as they really didn't know each other.

About ten minutes into their journey, the pop up screen came up again, and Tahir received another message From his system.

[A substance in the air has been detected]

[Poison detected]

[You are feeling sleepy]

[System building resistance against it]

[Resistance +1]

[Your resistance to the substance has increased]

Tahir found this message quite strange. So, he tried covering his nose until he felt as if the whole sleeping gas was dumped on his head, not allowing him to breath well. unconsciousness is starting to creep in.

"Not another passing out again", he said before falling unconscious.
