Harry ran down the brightly lit corridor toward the hospital’s central payment office.

His heart was thumping wildly, feeling the rush of relief and excitement, like a drowning man who had finally been thrown a lifeline.

He could finally save his mother! But as he crossed the ICU corridor, he saw two nurses aggressively pushing a hospital bed out into the cold hallway.

His mother's fragile, thin body was lying on the stretcher, her face turning pale the longer she spent without an oxygen mask.

"Stop! What are you doing?!"

Harry screamed and ran forward, putting his hands on the bed to stop it from rolling down.

"I’m going to pay, I have the money right now! Do not move her out— !"

Brenda was the head nurse, who had looked down on Harry from the very first day.

She stopped and crossed her arms.

“Mr. Kipling! The remaining balance in your registered account is insufficient to continue paying for this ICU room. We're running a medical facility, not a homeless shelter. This space needs to be cleared up for other patients in need."

Another nurse joined her in mocking Harry. The name tag on her uniform read ‘Molly’.

"Exactly. We can't waste oxygen on such charity cases. Who knows when their funding will stop, and all our resources will go to waste?"

Harry gripped the bedrail so tightly that his knuckles turned white. "Don't kick her out! I told you, I have the money now! I will pay the full amount for the surgery, just give me sixty more seconds!"

Brenda laughed out loud.

"Oh please! Don't make me laugh. Just five minutes ago, you were crying and begging every single one of your relatives to lend you fifty dollars. And now suddenly, you became a multi-millionaire? Did you magically find a million dollars lying in the parking lot?"

Molly and Haley, who had gathered around to watch the drama, broke out into laughter.

"Hey! Maybe he won some lottery within the last two minutes, don't make fun of Mr. Richie Rich!”

Harry felt humiliated, but he couldn't care about his own dignity right now. His mother’s life was draining away.

He swallowed his anger, his eyes pleading.

"I’m not lying! I just received a huge transfer into my bank account. Please, just give me a little bit of time. I will transfer the money to the hospital's official account."

Brenda rolled her eyes in impatience, snatching a clipboard from the wall.

"Fine. Go ahead. I'll give you the hospital's direct payment account number right now. Let's see if you can actually turn this ridiculous lie into reality, or if you're just a delusional loser."

Harry quickly took out his cheap smartphone, tapping on the cracked screen to log into his mobile banking app. He copied the hospital's account number, entered the amount—$1,000,000.00—and hit the "PAY” button.

Ding!

Instead of a green checkmark, a bright red warning banner popped up across his screen: [ERROR: TRANSACTION DENIED. Your account has been temporarily restricted due to suspicious activity. Please contact your branch immediately.]

Harry’s heart dropped into his stomach. No. No, not right now!

He tried to press the button again, but the screen froze, showing an error message. He was locked out of the app, even his account was frozen.

He couldn't transfer a single cent now.

Seeing his panicked expression, Brenda immediately spoke up.

"What's wrong, big guy? Let me guess, are you having some imaginary trouble with the transfer? Is your internet connection not working suddenly?"

Harry was drowning in a sea of frustration and panic, unable to get even a breath of relief.

He looked at the staff, his voice choking with tears as he begged them for some understanding.

"Please, listen to me! My bank account has been flagged as a high-risk account because the incoming transfer was too large. It’s under review by the bank's security system because of the massive sum being transferred. I just need a few more minutes to call them and sort it out, please! Please don't move her!"

"Oh, only a few more minutes? Sure! I believe you."

Molly scoffed. Before Harry could react, she reached out and snatched his phone straight out of his hand.

"Hey! Give that back!" Harry shouted.

Molly looked at the screen, and her eyes suddenly widened. "Oh my god, girls, come and see this! Look at what this clown has on his screen. Is it some new technique for manifestation?”

Haley and Brenda crowded around, staring at the numbers displayed on the banking app dashboard:

$1,500,000,149.00

Molly mocked him ruthlessly, tossing the phone back at Harry’s chest.

“Tell us about your manifestation secrets, my lord! A man who wears clothes from a dumpster and can't afford his mother's basic surgery, but his bank account shows one point five billion dollars? What a joke!"

“And how convenient, that he can't transfer a single cent out even when someone's life depends on it?”

Brenda scoffed and Haley stepped forward, her face twisted in anger as she scolded Harry harshly.

"You are so incredibly foolish, Harry Kipling! Why did you waste so much time in photoshopping such a fake, poorly edited screenshot just to fool us? Do you think we are idiots? You are literally wasting our valuable time while real patients are waiting! And in the end, you haven't paid a single cent. You're just a burden on earth!”

The words pierced Harry's heart like a dagger. He violently snatched his phone back from them.

He didn't care about their insults anymore. He immediately dialed the priority customer service number listed at the bottom of the bank portal.

The rang twice, bypassing the automated system completely. The one who answered was the Head of the Regional Banking Division, who had been alerted the moment a billion-dollar account was flagged for a complaint.

"Hello, this is Gregory Chapman speaking from the VIP Customer Terminal. How can I assist you, sir?"

Harry didn't have any patience left for small talk. He directly roared into the microphone, his voice echoing through the hospital hallway.

"Why has my account been frozen?! My mother is in the ICU right now, and your stupid system is blocking my emergency transfer!"

On the other end of the line, Gregory Chapman froze with panic. A client with 1.5 billion dollars in cash could ruin his entire career within minutes.

He quickly began to apologize, trying to placate the customer.

“I am deeply, deeply sorry, sir! Please forgive us! The bank's security AI system is still under training, and it flagged your account due to the large incoming sum from Geraline Dynamics. It was a mistake, please forgive me—”

Harry’s eyes were cold as ice.

"I don't care about your damn algorithm! I need to make a medical payment urgently. You have exactly one minute to transfer one million dollars to the account number I'm going to text you, or I will withdraw every single penny from your institution and switch to another bank by tomorrow morning!"

Chapman broke out in a panicked sweat.

"We will handle it immediately, Mr. Kipling! The funds will be cleared within sixty seconds, and someone from our executive care team will contact you shortly to follow up and offer a formal compensation package. Please don't close your account!"

Harry cut the call without waiting for him to finish.

Brenda had heard Harry shouting into the phone, and scoffed loudly. Today, she was determined to make this freeloader feel ashamed for scamming them with his cheap acting stunts.

“Wow, what a performance! Do you really think you're some kind of VIP client, ordering the bank manager to transfer money to the hospital? If you're going to brag and put on a drama, at least make it believable. You're just a delivery boy, no better than us!"

Right in front of Brenda’s eyes, Harry's posture became straighter, his aura getting more dominating.

“Everything I am saying is true, and you'll see the proof in exactly one minute."

"I'm sick of this nonsense! Get out of the way!"

She forcefully grabbed the handles of the ICU bed and began pushing Harry's mother down the hallway again.

"I said, STOP!" Harry roared, stepping directly in front of the bed, his tall frame blocking the corridor.

BZZZ!

Suddenly, Brenda’s tablet and the main desk computer flashed with a bright green notification.

The transfer notification arrived on Harry's phone with a chime and he slowly lowered his phone to Brenda's eye level, showing her the receipt of the successful transaction.

Molly's jaw dropped, almost ready to detach from her face. Haley stumbled backward, staring at Harry as if she had just seen a ghost.

Brenda froze in place, her hands still glued to the bed handles. His voice was completely calm, but somehow, it made all three nurses shiver.

"I have paid successfully. Now, move my mother back to her premium hospital room immediately, and continue preparing for the surgery. If there is even a second of delay, I will buy this entire hospital by midnight and fire every single one of you."

The family doctors are examining him, but I'm just so very worried about his condition."Hearing the pure distress in her trembling voice, Harry felt a wave of sympathy for the anxious young woman."It's completely okay, Noemie," Harry reassured her softly, his deep voice carrying a steady, comforting warmth.
