Outside, the bright sun mocked his dark mood. Tyler headed straight for the old stone bridge that crossed the river at the edge of town. There, a skinny boy who was also looking homeless sat fishing with a crooked pole.

“Hey,” Tyler called.

“Have you seen an older woman pass by? or around here, Gray-streaked hair, She must be wearing a simple blue necklace also?”

Then the boy looked up, squinting against the sun.

“You mean the crying lady? She went that way.”

He pointed toward the kings palace road.

“Said she was going to the king's palace to beg for money.” Then he scratched his head.

“Lots of rich folks would be there today.”

The sharp words of the homeless man under the bridge pierced Tyler like a knife.

He froze, his fists clenched by his sides, trembling with rage.

He couldn't believe his mother was going around begging for money now.

It was them, his ex-wife’s family.

It was their doing—the humiliation, the cruelty. If they hadn't kicked his mother out, like she was worthles

As Tyler knelt silently beside his unconscious mother, the cruel laughter of the guards continued to echo in the dungeon walls like a chorus of mockery. They felt untouchable, they thought they had won. Then One of the guards turned toward the man who had escorted Tyler into the underground cell block.“Hey you!” he barked. “Which idiot allowed you to arrest this punk?”Another guard stepped forward, a smug look on his face. “You actually did something right for once. Bringing this filth here? That’s the kind of service the palace needs.”They clapped mockingly, chuckling among themselves.“Good work,” one jeered. “We’ll take it from here. We’ve been waiting for this trash.”But their smirks began to fade… quickly.Because that’s when their eyes drifted down… and noticed the crest on the escorting guard’s shoulder. At that moment their expressions froze mid-mockery.The emblem was not common. It was golden, laced with black threadwork, and embedded with a small royal sapphire, an insi

At that moment Tyler’s mother raised her head weakly, blinking through her tears to see the woman who had just spoken.“I told you I was going to deal with you,” the woman continued with a twisted grin. “You thought because you were hooded and quick with your tongue that no one would touch you.”Immediately She pointed a sharp-nailed finger at her.“You dared splash water on me the other day you!” Her voice was sharp now, echoing through the stone halls. “You filthy, pitiful hag!”Then she stepped even more closer.“And now look who got the last laugh.”Then, without hesitation, the woman raised her hand.“SMACK!”Her palm cracked across Tyler’s mother’s face, hard enough to send a spray of tears and blood to the floor. The slap echoed cruelly, but the torment didn’t end there. Before the woman could even step back, three guards silent up to this point drew their whips again, each one rolling out with a sharp hiss like snakes ready to strike.Without mercy, they lashed downward.“CRA

The Supreme Forest was deadly, yes, but it was also sacred home to lost techniques and ancient spirits. If Tyler had entered it alone, it was near impossible he would have returned like this.Someone had guided him, But who?Who sent this boy into the forest? Who trained him? Who shaped this kind of healer? His thoughts were still swirling when the sound of footsteps pulled him from his focus. The king had moved down from his throne and walked over slowly, robes trailing softly behind him.He stopped beside the Elder and leaned in just slightly, his voice low but laced with command.“I want to know everything about that young man,” the king said, eyes still locked on the doors where Tyler had exited.“His family. His background. Where he comes from. Who raised him. What shaped him.”The king’s tone wasn’t casual it was heavy with intent.“I want names. I want his history, I want truths.”Immediately Edda bowed his head slightly in acknowledgment, face calm but serious.“As you wish, m

At that moment the tension in the throne room was still as thick as storm clouds, everyone was waiting each breath held, each eye locked on Tyler. The king had just done what no king had done before: re-offered a crown to a man who had already turned it down.Edda remained still. Naomi’s jaw was clenched so tightly it looked like stone. Sophia, soft-eyed, sat patiently, her hands folded neatly on her lap.But Tyler...Tyler turned his head slowly and looked at the first daughter Princess Naomi. He didn’t flinch beneath her cold gaze.He didn’t speak, he didn’t scowl, he didn’t smirk. He just looked at her for a brief moment… then looked away, as if nothing about her stirred him at all.Not her rank, not her beauty, not her name. Then, with the eyes of the entire room still fixed on him, Tyler took a respectful step forward and gave a small, dignified bow toward the king.It wasn’t low, It wasn’t theatrical. It was the kind of bow one gives not as a servant—but as an equal showing respe

At that moment The king’s words still lingered in the room like sacred echoes.“Like I said, I’m giving you another chance, Tyler… to choose either one of my daughters.”And for the first time, a flicker of expectation glimmered on the king’s face.He stood tall, proud, confident—his arms at his side, the crown’s weight once again heavy on his shoulders, but his gaze softening toward Tyler. There was no mockery in his voice now, no disbelief, only quiet recognition.A ruler had seen a man who acted like a king without needing the title. However Tyler’s eyes remained unreadable. Then he felt another presence. He turned slightly and there stood Edda, his robes swaying lightly as he gave a small, respectful nod toward Tyler.“Listen,” Edda said gently but firmly, stepping forward. “It is unheard of completely unheard of for anyone to reject the king’s reward.”At that moment he held up one hand, almost in emphasis, as if speaking not just to Tyler, but to the princess's as well.“Kings a

Upon hearing what Tyler just said, the room remained still, Tyler’s final words echoed quietly through the golden chamber, lingering in the minds of everyone present like a weight dropped into still water. No one spoke. Then the king leaned back slowly in his throne, eyes fixed on Tylernot with anger, not with confusion, but with something deeper. He was thinking, Deeply. This wasn’t something he came across every day not in court, not in war, not in politics.A man… who had just rejected the throne.Who turned his back on royalty, power, and glory. All for the sake of a mother, It wasn’t ambition that drove Tyler. It wasn’t greed. It wasn’t pride. It was principle. And that made him different from every other man the king had seen crawl through the palace doors in pursuit of position and privilege.Tyler wasn’t trying to prove anything, he wasn’t here to win hearts or impress nobles. He had his own truth, and he followed it without hesitation. At that moment the king slowly narrowed

The king’s words echoed loudly across the chamber, sealing a promise that none could challenge. The weight of his declaration settled heavily in the room, and all eyes instinctively shifted toward Tyler, awaiting his choice. However, before Tyler could speak, a sharp movement caught everyone's attention. The first daughter’s face twisted ever so slightly, unable to hide the sheer disgust simmering inside her.Even though she kept her chin high, and her handkerchief still pressed delicately against her nose, the disdain in her eyes spoke louder than any words. To her, Tyler was still nothing more than a filthy commoner, a man born from dirt, who didn’t deserve to walk the same halls she graced, let alone touch her hand in marriage.Even now, even after witnessing the miracle he performed, she could not bring herself to feel anything but contempt.Healing her father? So what? In her heart, Tyler was unworthy too lowly, too disgraceful to ever be considered part of her noble bloodline.A

At that moment the heavy silence inside the royal chamber lingered like mist, The smell of expelled poison still hung faintly in the air, but Tyler showed no signs of concern.Calmly, he wiped his hands clean on a simple cloth he carried with him, then turned to Edda without hesitation.“The king is fine now,” Tyler said quietly but firmly, his voice cutting through the stunned stillness.“He will be alright.”Hearing what Tyler just said, Edda could barely breathe. He looked from Tyler to the king, then back again, struggling to process what had just happened right in front of his eyes. However the first daughter, still standing stiffly with a stunned expression, clutched her fallen handkerchief but made no move to pick it up.The second daughter, hands clasped tightly at her chest, could only stare at the king with wide, trembling eyes.No one dared to speak, no one dared to move, all they could do was watch. And then a soft, low groan echoed from the bed.The king stirred, slowly,

However On the other hand, the second daughter reacted differently, She had been watching quietly from the moment Tyler entered, her bright, clear eyes, so different from her sister’s sharpness, softened slightly. When Tyler stepped a little closer, the second daughter—gentle and kind-hearted—nodded politely at him, It was a small, encouraging gesture. Not a grand welcome, not a dramatic acceptance, Just a simple, human, acknowledgment.Tyler noticed, But he said nothing. His focus stayed where it needed to be, On the king. The elder, seeing Tyler’s determined gaze, cleared his throat and spoke again.“My name is Edda,” he said calmly, introducing himself formally, even though Tyler hadn’t asked. He gestured slightly toward the king’s frail body.“I believe you already know the reward that awaits,” Edda continued. “If you are able to heal the king... everything has been promised to you.”His voice was steady, his words clear, but his eyes stayed fixed on Tyler, searching, weighing it
