Chapter 16: The First Dungeon – “Blood Hive” Part 2

His sword sliced through the air, driven by Basic Sword Mastery Level 5. Every strike was charged with the new energy of System Sovereign. He cleaved a Parasite Beetle in two with a downward stroke, then spun and struck a Wasp mid-air, severing its wings. Acidic blood splattered onto him, but with his Vitality at 71 and his newly genetically reinforced skin, he barely felt the damage.

[You killed Parasite Beetle (Level 12) x 7]

[You killed Blood Drone Wasp (Level 14) x 5]

[XP: +4,820]

They cleared the first floor in 12 minutes. Xander was already Level 19. Lira rose to Level 11. Elena, gaining experience through assists, reached Level 9.

On the second floor, the environment changed. It was a long, narrow corridor draped in webs of sticky mucus. The monsters here were more specialized.

[Leech Larva Swarm – Level 16] and [Armored Parasite Soldier – Level 18]

The insectoid soldiers stood nearly two meters tall, with obsidian-black carapaces and claws capable of tearing through metal. One of them grazed Lira, opening a deep gash in her thigh.

"Lira!" Xander growled.

He activated Sovereign’s Decree for the first time in combat.

"Do not bleed."

A wave of absolute power radiated from him. Lira’s wound stopped bleeding instantly, as if the System itself had been forced to obey. Elena’s eyes widened in fascination.

"That... that’s real-time law editing..."

Xander didn't stop. He charged alone against four Parasite Soldiers. His sword moved like a hurricane. But the monsters here were stronger. One of them drove its claws into his left shoulder. The pain was excruciating. That was when Xander decided to reveal his most dangerous power yet.

As the Parasite Soldier attempted to inject parasitic eggs into his bloodstream, Xander placed his hand directly onto the creature's carapace and activated the ability he had unlocked upon his class evolution.

"Overwrite."

The air around them warped. A royal blue interface overlaid the monster's red one.

[Overwrite activated – Level 1]

Rewriting enemy System rules…

Xander temporarily rewrote two rules:

1. “Parasite Infection Rate” → Changed to “0%”.

2. “Carapace Regeneration” → Changed to “Negative Regeneration (continuous damage)”.

The Parasite Soldier let out a piercing shriek as its own carapace began to disintegrate, as if being dissolved by acid from the inside out. Xander drove his sword into the exposed spot and twisted. The creature exploded into pieces.

The other three soldiers hesitated, sensing that something fundamental had been violated.

"You’re next," Xander said, extending his hand.

He used Overwrite again—this time on all three simultaneously—expending a massive amount of Authority Points. Their “Movement Speed” rules were rewritten to 30% of normal.

Lira and Elena wasted no time. Blue arrows and acid flasks finished off the monsters in seconds.

Elena was practically hyperventilating with scientific excitement.

"You... you literally rewrote the enemy System's laws! That shouldn't be possible! How much can you rewrite? What’s the cost? How long does it last? I need data!"

Xander took a deep breath. Using Overwrite had drained him significantly—180 Authority Points per multi-target use. But the power was absurd. He smiled, revealing perfect white teeth. — This is my true power as System Sovereign. I don’t just use the System. I edit it.

They continued their descent.

The third floor was the main nest. The ceiling was incredibly high, covered in thousands of eggs. In the center, atop a throne made of the mummified bodies of humans and monsters, sat she.

[Parasite Queen – Level 25 (Elite)]

The creature was simultaneously hideous and majestic. Three meters tall, with the elongated body of an insectoid queen and six razor-sharp legs, a swollen abdomen constantly producing eggs, and a deformed humanoid head with a tentacle-filled maw. A dense red aura hovered above her.

Abilities:

- Rapid Egg Production

- Parasitic Domination

- Absolute Regeneration (While eggs exist)

The Queen glared at them and let out a shriek that shook the entire dungeon.

"Intruders… in my hive… You will be perfect for my children…"

The final battle began.

Hundreds of larvae and soldiers burst from the eggs. Lira fired arrows ceaselessly and Elena hurled flasks that exploded into chemical flames, but the sheer numbers were overwhelming. Xander cut down everything that drew near, yet the Queen regenerated her wounds almost instantly.

When one of the Queen’s tentacles struck Elena in the chest—flinging her against the wall and injecting parasites—Xander felt a cold, sovereign rage take hold of him.

"Enough."

He charged straight at the Queen, ignoring dozens of attacks. Claws tore at his skin, but he did not stop. He halted only two meters away from the colossal creature.

"Overwrite" Advanced Mode.

He spent 450 Authority Points in one go. His will clashed against the dungeon's rules.

He rewrote three of the enemy's fundamental laws:

1. “Absolute Regeneration” → “Regeneration Nullified for 60 seconds.”

2. “Connection to Hive Mind” → “Total Isolation (Queen loses control over minions).”

3. “Egg Production Rate” → “Inverted Production (eggs explode internally).”

The Parasite Queen let out a scream of indescribable agony as all her eggs began to detonate inside her abdomen. Her regeneration halted completely. The surrounding minions flew into a frenzy, attacking one another.

Xander leaped, propelled by his Strength of 92, and drove his sword straight into the Queen’s exposed core—a spot previously shielded by her regeneration.

The blade sank in up to the hilt.

[Fatal Critical Hit!]

[You killed Parasite Queen (Level 25)]

[XP: +18,750]

[You leveled up to Level 22!]

The entire dungeon began to shake and disintegrate. A brilliant red light enveloped the three of them.

Clear Rewards (Territory’s First Dungeon):

- Parasite Queen’s Core (Legendary)

- Gene Essence x 3 (allows awakening of a parasitic bloodline or resistance to it)

- Skill Tome: Parasitic Thread (Rare)

- Armor Set: Hive Guardian (Growth Type – Rare)

- +1,200 Authority Points

When they emerged from the portal—which collapsed behind them—Xander was covered in blood; some of it his own, some the Queen’s. His powerful body gleamed in the sunlight. Lira was limping slightly but smiling with pride. Elena, wounded yet alive, gazed at Xander as if he were the very god of science. She stepped closer, pressing her curvaceous body against his, ignoring the blood.

"You rewrote the rules of a dungeon boss... That changes everything, Xander. With me by your side, analyzing every Overwrite... we could become invincible."

Lira approached from the other side, wiping the blood from his face with her hand.

"And I’ll protect you while you rewrite the world."

Xander placed an arm around each of them, his commanding presence enveloping them both like a law of nature.

"This was just the first dungeon. There will be many more. And I’m going to rewrite them all."

In the distance, new, larger portals were beginning to form on the horizon of the ruined city.

But within the Nexus Territory, the System Sovereign had just taken his first true step toward absolute domination.
