Just after Anthony left, Charlotte, who had been watching as he exited, finally let out a relieved sigh. A wide grin parted her lips. Now, she was happy that Anthony was out of her life for good!

Aria also exhaled, feeling at ease. They were about to experience a new phase of life, especially now that Anthony had left them for good. She thought with a lingering smile.

Charlotte, all of a sudden, stood up on her feet, seeming to remember something.

Aria raised an eyebrow at her. “Charlotte, what is it?” She asked.

“His belongings,” Charlotte responded, “Anthony forgot to take his properties with him.” Her voice was laced with a little bit of concern.

Aria frowned, “Why do you act like you care? Besides, those things of his are rags!” She then waved her hand in dismissal, “I'll instruct the servant to set them on fire after now.”

Charlotte paused, looking at her mother before finally settling down in her seat.

Meanwhile, as Anthony got outside, the servants’ gaze locked with his. And they began to murmur within themselves, but their voices rose above a whisper.

“Look at him. Miss Charlotte has finally divorced him, and he looks more miserable now.” One said, her voice laced with sarcasm and humor.

Another chuckled with her. “Who knows what will become of him now. Such a useless pauper who depends on his wife to get everything done for him.”

Another one said, “I overheard Miss Charlotte giving a cheque of $8,000 to take care of himself.”

The rest flew their hands to their mouths, taken by surprise. “Oh, wow. Miss Charlotte is such a kind person to give him such a kind gesture. Not that he even deserves it.”

Hearing these clueless servants speak only seemed to add more salt to his wound. Anthony tried hard not to get furious, but the more they spoke, the more his anger was fueled.

Overwhelmed with fury, Anthony yelled at them, “How dare you fools talk about me like that!” He approached them with a tightened face.

They all vibrated, sensing how angry he really was.

Anthony continued, blasting, “Are you all that jobless and foolish! Where were you all when I helped finance Harold's company, huh?! Where!” His throat hitched.

Pausing briefly, Anthony realized he was just overreacting, displaying his frustration where it wasn't necessary.

Tightening his fist against the cheque he was holding, he shouted with a blink of his eyes, “Get out of here, you all, before I lose it and do what I'm not supposed to do! Now!”

With just a slight opening of his eyes, Anthony glanced around but couldn't see anyone again. They have all disappeared in fear!

He felt his anger flare as he realized he was still in Harold's compound. Each of the objects he set his eyes on was a remembrance of betrayal.

As a picture of how he had supported this family tried to flash through his mind, he quickly took a chilled breath and wiped off the thoughts as fast as possible before they could even sink in.

With a composed and calm demeanor, Anthony took off on his heels to leave,, but then his phone buzzed in his pocket and started to ring.

Curious and perplexed, Anthony hesitated before reaching out his hand to his pocket. With his phone pulled out, Anthony glanced at the number, and a hint of surprise flashed through his eyes.

For the past three years, no one had ever called him after he lost the menial jobs that he had been doing part-time.

And what puzzled him the most was the fact that the number was a foreign number written in this manner: +1 415 555 1234.

Recalling the country's code, Anthony furrowed his eyebrows as he said, “A United States of America number? Why is it calling me? Could it be a scammer using this USA to make me fall prey?” He pondered, fearing to fall victim.

He had heard a lot of people complain about being scammed by unknown numbers. Once a code is sent to your phone and you send it to them, your account will be emptied in no time.

Anthony huffed and wanted to hang up on the call, but remembering he had not a single penny in his account except for this cheque, he reluctantly pressed the answer button.

Taking the phone closer to his ear, he spoke calmly, sounding friendly, “Hello? Who am I speaking with?” He asked.

The voice from the other end came out deep yet professionally toned. It was a male voice. “I'm Lawrence Rice. Am I talking with Anthony Lawrence?”

Anthony couldn't respond. He only gave a small nod, his face pale.Georgina continued, her tone carrying a hint of disgust. “Is that how she is? Telling lies? I mean, does she have to lie to you? Why didn't she just tell the truth, that she was going out to dine with her boyfriend? You wouldn't have stopped her.”Her intention in saying that was to fuel Anthony's aggression toward Sarah. He wanted him to be more hostile and furious at her so that he would only have time for her—Georgina—and not Sarah.Pausing briefly, she continued, “She was only trying to act like she had wanted to let you know just because she was caught red-handed, or else she wouldn't have even mentioned it to you.”She didn't stop. She went on uttering words that were disgusting about Sarah, condemning her single act with only one intention—to flare Anthony's anger toward Sarah.Anthony was numb, listening to every one of her words.“She isn't trustworthy. People like her are like snakes in green grass. They can

Her face grew pale. “I shouldn't have lied to him,” she cried. “I should have just told him the truth. Now, what was the essence of lying when he had caught me?” Her eyes rolled around the place, a tear clearly seen in her eyes. After a while of almost sitting on the ground, Sarah stood up, her composure straight. She wiped the tear that was almost dropping from her eyes and with that, she turned around, walking back inside. Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, Benjamin had already sat back on his seat, his elbow on the table, his hand supporting his chin.He was thinking about what had just transpired; however, his mind wasn't on anything else except Georgina. She had slapped him right in front of Anthony. She defended him and even warned him not to talk to Anthony the way he had done.“Wasn't this the same Georgina who offered to assist me? What then is she doing with that bastard?” He wondered loudly in his heart. Strange. A hum escaped his lips.He shifted slightly on his seat befo

Sarah also froze at the sight of Anthony. How? How could he be here? She whispered, completely astonished. Her eyes widened. She opened her mouth, but a coherent response couldn't come out. “An…. Anthony, you?” She stammered.Anthony’s eyes flicked from Sarah to Benjamin and he stared at him for a moment longer. Then, they flipped back to Sarah, his eyes filled with quiet intensity. He walked closer. “Sarah,” he called out, still as if he was dreaming. “What are you doing here? With him?” He gestured toward Benjamin. “Didn't you say you were at home taking a rest?” Sarah stood there, iced at a spot. Her mouth went dry of words, a heavy weight of guilt descending on her. “It—it's not what you think, Anthony. There's —”Anthony cut her off, his voice cold. “What else do you want to say? Lie to me again?” He said, completely annoyed. “I called to check on you to know how you were doing and you told me you were resting at home,” he paused, then added. “So, this is the house, right?” “

Georgina's eyes darted toward Anthony, “Him? No, no….” She quickly shook her head, trying to deny, but then completed it, “Yes, I mean, he had given me a lift before.” She lied. Reluctantly, she asked Anthony, “You? You seem to know him. Have you guys met before?” Anthony nodded. “Yes.”Benjamin cut in, but didn't reveal the truth. Instead, he put up a face, trying to act surprised. “Georgina,” he called out, “What are you doing with him? I…is he your boyfriend?” Georgina had told him that Anthony wasn't Sarah's boyfriend, yet she was with him. Something seems odd, rightly not in place. Georgina frowned, but masked it with a faint smile. “No, Anthony is my friend.”Benjamin scorned, disgust plastered on his face. “A friend? To you?” An amused laugh escaped his lips. “You mean there's no well-to-do looking guy out there that you can make friends with except this….”He looked from Anthony's head down to his toes. “This pathetic loser?” Georgina's face became a shade of red, her fur

When Benjamin got to the counter, his mind still swirling with annoyance as to why Sarah decided to make such a sudden decision, he shoved his card to the receptionist, “Here's my card, take out the bills,” he said, almost sounding rude. The receptionist blinked, caught off guard by the tone of his voice. She studied him for a brief moment before smiling faintly. Reluctantly she asked, “You don't okay, sir. Please, is there anything we can do to help?” She asked with concern in her voice as she took the card. She wanted to know what was making Benjamin annoyed. “Is it about our service? If there are any issues, please feel free to let us know,” she continued, raising her eyebrows at Benjamin.Benjamin's face contorted with anger. His fist clenched at his side as he shot the receptionist a deadly stare. “Just shut up and do what you're been asked to do! Get the fucking bills off and hand the card over!” He growled. The receptionist was taken aback. She only meant well. Nothing much.S

The call rang once and ended, but there was no response. Sarah's grip tightened around her phone as she stared at it, frustration written over her face. “Come on, Anthony, please, pick up,” she whispered strongly to herself, as if she could use magic to compel Anthony to pick up his phone that moment. She glanced at the time. It was ten minutes past ten. “Could he be sleeping?” She asked herself again and paused for a moment before starting again. “But it's not that late, doesn't he have something that might be keeping him busy?”Saying that, she dialed his number for the second time.Meanwhile, back inside the main hall of the restaurant, at Anthony's table, they were still eating when Georgina slowly paused, casually leaned in, and took her phone. As she glanced down at her screen, her eyes slightly widened in surprise. “What? So fast?” She muttered in disbelief.Anthony looked over, curious but concerned. “What's that?” He asked.Georgina hesitated before replying. “The time. It'
