"Hello, Sir?" the voice called softly. "I believe I am speaking with Peter Graham?"

Peter frowned, trying to remember if he was missing something. He was Peter, but Graham? Certainly not him. These scammers were getting more creative by the day. Too bad... the guy couldn’t even get his name right.

He scoffed, already knowing how these things went. "I'm sorry, wrong number."

He ended the call and sighed heavily, still thinking about his miserable life when the same number called for the tenth time.

"What the heck is wrong with this person?" he muttered in complete annoyance. "I am not Peter Graham."

He picked up the call to explain one last time to this weirdo before blocking the number.

"Please stop calling me or I'll block and report your number. I am not—"

"Please hear me out, Sir," the voice cut in before he could end the call. "You're Peter Lawson. You study business at Primeton University. You're twenty-one years old and live with your grandmother. You're currently in the hospital because you got into a fight with your debtor." The voice spoke softly, and it creeped the hell out of Peter.

"What the—?" He was utterly shocked.

Who was this person who knew every detail of his life, even to his daily activities? Maybe it was Troy’s father calling from an unknown number to finish what his son had started. But the voice kept addressing him as "Sir." There was no way someone as powerful as Troy’s father would call him that.

"Who are you?" Peter finally asked, now curious to hear more. He still strongly believed this was just another jobless scammer with a new scheme.

"Thank you, Sir, for giving me the opportunity," the voice continued, making Peter even more uncomfortable.

"Will you stop calling me that and tell me what the hell you want?" he barked.

"My name is Oscar Valerie. I am the family butler of the Grahams," the man said.

"Family butler? Of the Grahams?" Peter tried piecing it together, but nothing added up. "Sorry, Sir, but I don’t know anyone by the name Graham," he dismissed, but the man pressed on.

"I know. That is why I called... to explain," Mr. Oscar said. "I know this is going to sound unbelievable, but I want you to believe it is completely true."

"Your real name is Peter Graham, not Peter Lawson. You are the second child of Sir Thomas Graham and his wife Margaret. You’ve been missing for over twenty-one years, and now I have finally found you..."

"What is this?" Peter interjected, completely confused. "You're trying to tell me that I am the son of some rich man and my real family is actually wealthy?"

"Yes, Sir," Mr. Oscar replied. "In this country, there are only four families of such power and caliber. Your family is the first richest household, with an accumulated net worth of over five hundred billion dollars."

"Mhmm... Do I look stupid to you?" Peter muttered with a scoff. "Just get to the part where you ask for my bank card details, because this is getting really ridiculous."

"Sir, this is not a joke, nor is it a scam. Your family is worth over five hundred billion dollars and is listed on Forbes as one of the most powerful families in the world. You can check it for yourself and see that I am telling the truth."

"So you're trying to tell me that I am the son of Thomas Graham and suddenly a rich kid? Please don’t call this number again or I’ll report you to the police," Peter murmured as he tried to end the call again. This cock-and-bull story was starting to give him a headache.

"Your medical bills have been paid in full, Sir" Mr. Oscar yelled before Peter could hang up.

"What did you just say?" he asked slowly, as if he hadn’t heard clearly.

"Master Peter, your hospital bills have been settled," Oscar repeated. "This is not something that can be discussed over the phone. We need to meet at the family estate."

This man must be crazy. Now he wanted to kidnap him by claiming he had paid the bills? Peter was too smart for that. He would have to try a little bit harder.

"So now you want to kidnap me? You scammers never fail to amuse me. This is real life, not some movie or web-book. You called me out of nowhere claiming I’m some billionaire kid, and now you want me to meet you? I don’t even know if you’re lying," he echoed.

"I know this is a lot, Sir, but I’m sure after we meet, you will begin to understand what I mean," Oscar said. "I’ve sent a vehicle to St. James Medical Center, the hospital where you are currently. They will pick you up, and you will see for yourself that it is true."

Before Peter could respond, a soft knock echoed on the door.

"Pa! Pa! Pa!"

He immediately ended the call to see who was knocking.

"Who is it?" he asked softly.

The door creaked open as a doctor stepped inside with a file in her hand.

"Good morning, Sir. I see you’re finally awake." She approached him, checked the IV drip, and took his hand to check his pulse. She then placed the cold tip of her stethoscope on his chest to listen to his heart rate while scribbling notes.

"Your heart rate is perfect, and your pulse is fine. Your bills have also been settled, so you’re free to go home," the doctor said with a smile.

"Wait, my bills have been paid?" he asked, surprised and stunned.

"Yes, Sir. In full."

"By who?" he asked curiously.

"The payer was anonymous, so I can’t tell you, Sir."

Peter was shocked. The man from earlier had been telling the truth. He had actually settled the bills. Does this mean he was really Peter Graham? The thought was incredibly delusional, but he couldn’t help considering it.

"Just make sure to take your medications. The slight pains will disappear in a few days. Return next week for a proper check-up and X-rays. I’ll call the nurses to give you your final injections and clear you," she said gently.

Peter nodded and thanked her. She then took her leave, leaving him alone with his thoughts.

After a few minutes, the nurses arrived with a tray of medications and a syringe. He received his final injections as they cleared him.

Mr. Oscar had said he sent a vehicle to pick him up, so Peter decided to wait outside to see what this man was really up to. One thing was certain: if this was a scam or a kidnapping, he had nothing to lose. His life was already miserable, and nobody would pay any ransom on his behalf anyway. It would simply be a failed kidnapping.

He sat on the bench outside the hospital, enjoying the fresh breeze, when he decided to learn more about the Graham family. He knew they were popular, he had seen them on the news before, but it had never interested him since it was rich people’s business.

He scrolled on his phone, his eyes catching their boldly displayed net worth: $500 Billion. That was an insane amount of money.

He tried scrolling further to read more about the family when three sleek, expensive vehicles pulled up right in front of him: two black SUVs and a Ferrari sports car.

''No way these cars are here for me. This has to be some big misunderstanding," Peter muttered to himself as he stared in disbelief.

"It's really you. What on earth are you doing here?" Evelyn asked, looking deeply irritated the moment she saw him. Evelyn Campbell was Peter’s former classmate from high school. She used to look down on him because he couldn’t afford even the most basic things back then. One time, before their graduation, Peter had gathered the courage to ask her out. She laughed so hard in his face, finding the idea completely ridiculous. In her own words, she had once told him: "You must be more stupid than I thought, Peter. Being poor really makes you delusional, huh? Craving things you know are way out of your league. Aha..." "Do you think I’m one of those low class girls who will ride with you through good and bad times? In sickness and in health? Fuck no!" "I’m very expensive. If you want to date me, then you need to be very rich."Now, fate had brought them face to face again, except a lot had changed in the past seventy-two hours. "Evelyn... so nice to meet you," Peter said with a genu

Peter was sprawled loosely on his soft, massive bed, snoring loudly like a cow while enjoying his sleep. He had slept past his usual bedtime without even realizing it. In a few seconds, his phone began to ring. He stretched his hand lazily and grabbed it without checking who the caller was. He placed it to his ear, but the urgent voice on the other end jolted him fully awake. "Peter!..." the voice screamed. "Bruh, where the hell are you?" "Owen?" he replied, recognizing the voice. "What’s going on?" "I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Are you alright?" Owen panted, sounding relieved after six attempted missed calls. "Uhm… yes, I am," Peter replied after a yawn. "It’s 11:31 a.m, bruh, and you’re not here? We’re already done with the first lectures and the rest were cancelled. Miss Wales called in sick so we're free for the day. Are you sure we shouldn’t be worried?" Peter swallowed hard, rubbing his eyes. It suddenly clicked in his head. He opened his eyes wide and pee

They reached a grand metallic door as Mr. Oscar pushed it open. Peter couldn’t believe his eyes. All this space for just one person? In his previous home, the room alone could fit their living room, kitchen, and his own bedroom combined, and there would still be space left for a toilet. He was utterly shocked and didn’t know whether to embrace this fortune or deny it. But one thing was certain: he could never go back to his previous life. The miserable, worthless trash everybody knew had to die after tonight. "This is your room, Young Master. Feel free to explore. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to let me or any of the staff know. This is now your home," Oscar said before pulling out a wrapped item from his pocket. He unwrapped it and handed it to Peter. "Here," he said. "This is a rare four crown black card. It contains twenty million dollars as your monthly allowance. And you no longer have to stay in the school dormitory. We will arrange convoys to drop you off

The chief guard, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit and black shades, signaled to Peter with a wave. He didn’t need to be told who they had come to pick, he already knew. They had been monitoring him for quite a while. It was only recently that they discovered he was actually the second missing child of Thomas Graham, whom they had been searching for years. Thomas Graham was a billionaire business mogul who dominated the luxury fashion industry. Together with his wife Margaret and their children, they owned one of the world’s most exclusive luxury houses—a brand so prestigious that even owning one of their handbags was considered a symbol of ultimate power and status. Peter walked slowly toward the parked vehicles, still in shock. It was the first time he had ever laid eyes on a Ferrari 488 Spider. He opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again, then finally gathered the courage to speak. "Is this a dream?" he asked the chief guard, staring him in the eye. "I'm not hallucin

Peter was lying on the hospital mattress when he suddenly began to flinch. He opened his eyes weakly, and everything around him appeared in blurry stripes. 'Where am i?' 'What happened to me?' 'How did I end up here?' Those were the questions running through his mind. He finally regained a bit of consciousness and tried to sit up, rubbing his hands on the back of his neck to ease the sharp ache. "He's awake!" "Bruh? Are you okay?" "Peter, talk to us. How are you?" Peter turned around and saw his two best friends surrounding him like a patient who had just undergone brain surgery. "Tom?... Owen?" he called out softly, staring them in the eyes. Relief washed over him the moment he set his eyes on them. At least he hadn’t lost his friends because of love, they were still a few people who actually cared about him. He wasn’t alone in this cruel world after all, because he still had his buddies by his side. "What... happened?" Peter asked skeptically as little fragm
