The chief guard, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit and black shades, signaled to Peter with a wave. He didn’t need to be told who they had come to pick, he already knew.

They had been monitoring him for quite a while. It was only recently that they discovered he was actually the second missing child of Thomas Graham, whom they had been searching for years.

Thomas Graham was a billionaire business mogul who dominated the luxury fashion industry. Together with his wife Margaret and their children, they owned one of the world’s most exclusive luxury houses—a brand so prestigious that even owning one of their handbags was considered a symbol of ultimate power and status.

Peter walked slowly toward the parked vehicles, still in shock. It was the first time he had ever laid eyes on a Ferrari 488 Spider. He opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again, then finally gathered the courage to speak.

"Is this a dream?" he asked the chief guard, staring him in the eye. "I'm not hallucinating, am I?"

"I believe when we get to the estate, Sir, you’ll be told everything properly by Mr. Oscar," the guard replied with utmost respect.

Just as Peter reached for the car handle, the guard opened the door for him instead. Peter glanced back one final time, saying.

"If you’re planning on kidnapping me, just know it’s a waste of effort. I only have my grandmother, and she’s in no position to offer any ransom on my behalf."

The chief guard smiled without saying another word. He closed the door, entered the vehicle, and they zoomed off.

In what seemed like an hour later, they arrived at the Graham estate.

Peter’s jaw dropped the moment he set eyes on the extravagant buildings. From the window, he could see just how vast and beautiful everything was. There wasn’t a speck of dirt on the ground. It looked like heaven on earth.

Everywhere was so elegant it almost felt surreal. Never in his entire life had he imagined he would see, let alone step inside the Graham estate.

He pinched himself again to confirm he wasn’t dreaming, and truly... he wasn't. It was all really happening.

Peter thought he had seen it all, but when they finally reached the main family mansion, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

The large thirty-foot-high metal gate swung open automatically on its own, after security confirmed their arrival. The vehicles drove in with ease, leaving Peter deep in his thoughts.

The car stopped at the mansion entrance. A male staff member lining the building quickly opened the door for him before the vehicle zoomed off toward the garage.

"Young Master, it is actually you in the flesh. After twenty-one years of searching and praying, you have finally returned to us," Mr. Oscar said, standing right in front of the mansion with every staff member lined up beside him. He spread his arms wide to welcome the missing Graham heir.

"You are… the person I spoke with on the phone, right?" Peter asked, doubt evident in his voice.

"Yes, I am Oscar Valerie. I am the butler of the Graham family, and I have served this great family for over forty years now," Oscar said with a warm smile.

"Wow," Peter managed. "Well then, Good day, Sir," he said, offering a polite bow.

Oscar immediately panicked. "No, no, no!" he exclaimed, gently lifting Peter up. "Do you want to get me killed?"

"Get you killed?" Peter murmured in utter confusion.

"You are Peter Graham. Nobody should see you bowing to commoners like me. It is considered an abomination," Oscar explained.

Peter couldn’t believe his ears. Just a few hours ago, people were calling him trash and a lowlife who couldn’t even take care of himself. Now this man was treating him like a lost royal prince who shouldn’t even share the same air with commoners.

"I’m not sure what you mean, Sir, but I still don’t believe any of this story you’ve been telling me," Peter said.

"Come on, let’s go inside while I explain everything," Oscar replied as they began walking in. As they moved, every maid and staff member bowed deeply in respect, as if a messiah had arrived.

"What if this is some big misunderstanding?" Peter began. "What if I was mistaken for someone else?"

"It is not a mistake, Young Master," Oscar said simply. "Look at your neck. There is a moon-shaped birthmark on it, right?"

Peter placed his hand on his neck in sincere shock. There was indeed a birthmark shaped almost exactly like a moon on the lower part of his neck, close to his shoulder. Could all this really be true? he thought.

"We have been following you for months now, ever since we learned about you," Oscar continued. "After your last date with your girlfriend Sophia, we used the spoon you ate with that day to run a DNA test against your father’s, and It matched perfectly."

"What?" Peter exclaimed softly. "You’ve been stalking me for months?"

"Uh… it’s not like that, Master. We were simply following orders," Oscar said nervously.

"Orders from who?"

"From your father," Oscar replied.

Peter stayed silent for a moment before asking, "Where are they now? My... family."

"Mr. Thomas is currently on a one-year international conference with Madam Margaret in London, they will return to the country once it ends."

They continued walking as Mr. Oscar showed Peter around the mansion. They arrived at a grand room on the second floor, usually reserved for important guests. Family portraits hung neatly on the walls. Peter had already done some research and knew that Mr. Thomas and Madam Margaret had two children, but only one—Veronica, was as famous as their parents.

"These are your siblings," Oscar gestured toward the pictures. "This is your elder brother, Mr. Richard, and over there is Miss Veronica."

"You mean… I am the blood brother of Veronica Graham?" Peter asked in shock.

"Yes, you are," Mr. Oscar confirmed.

"Twenty-one years ago, after your mother gave birth to you, you were swapped with a dead child. Everyone believed you were gone… until recently," Oscar said, pausing briefly to let the suspense sink in.

"What happened recently?" Peter asked slowly, obviously curious.

"The hospital contacted us with updated maternity reports. They suggested the dead baby belonged to someone else," Oscar explained. "Your mother never for once believed you were dead. She prayed and kept her hopes alive for your return. And now here you are... with us, in the flesh."

"Wait, hold up… how did you even find me?" Peter asked with a slight frown.

"Upon investigation, we found the nurse who was on duty the day you were swapped. She told us about the orphanage where she had dumped you. When we inquired there about your whereabouts, they told us you had been adopted by a couple, your foster parents... the Lawsons."

"They died in a car crash a few years ago," Peter murmured with low energy. The memory reopening fresh wounds.

"I know, and I’m truly sorry about that, Master." Oscar muttered softly. "They must have been really special to you."

Peter remained silent, staring at the polished marble floor.

A few years earlier, he had been adopted by a barren couple, Robert and Whitney Lawson. They had shown him genuine love and treated him as their own until they died in a car accident on their way home from work.

After their deaths, Peter had moved in with his grandmother, the only surviving relative he thought he had left. Life had not been fair to him since then, but he kept pushing forward regardless. And now, things were finally becoming interesting.

"Come on, Master. Let me show you your room," Oscar said as they took the path to the third floor.

"It's really you. What on earth are you doing here?" Evelyn asked, looking deeply irritated the moment she saw him. Evelyn Campbell was Peter’s former classmate from high school. She used to look down on him because he couldn’t afford even the most basic things back then. One time, before their graduation, Peter had gathered the courage to ask her out. She laughed so hard in his face, finding the idea completely ridiculous. In her own words, she had once told him: "You must be more stupid than I thought, Peter. Being poor really makes you delusional, huh? Craving things you know are way out of your league. Aha..." "Do you think I’m one of those low class girls who will ride with you through good and bad times? In sickness and in health? Fuck no!" "I’m very expensive. If you want to date me, then you need to be very rich."Now, fate had brought them face to face again, except a lot had changed in the past seventy-two hours. "Evelyn... so nice to meet you," Peter said with a genu

Peter was sprawled loosely on his soft, massive bed, snoring loudly like a cow while enjoying his sleep. He had slept past his usual bedtime without even realizing it. In a few seconds, his phone began to ring. He stretched his hand lazily and grabbed it without checking who the caller was. He placed it to his ear, but the urgent voice on the other end jolted him fully awake. "Peter!..." the voice screamed. "Bruh, where the hell are you?" "Owen?" he replied, recognizing the voice. "What’s going on?" "I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Are you alright?" Owen panted, sounding relieved after six attempted missed calls. "Uhm… yes, I am," Peter replied after a yawn. "It’s 11:31 a.m, bruh, and you’re not here? We’re already done with the first lectures and the rest were cancelled. Miss Wales called in sick so we're free for the day. Are you sure we shouldn’t be worried?" Peter swallowed hard, rubbing his eyes. It suddenly clicked in his head. He opened his eyes wide and pee

They reached a grand metallic door as Mr. Oscar pushed it open. Peter couldn’t believe his eyes. All this space for just one person? In his previous home, the room alone could fit their living room, kitchen, and his own bedroom combined, and there would still be space left for a toilet. He was utterly shocked and didn’t know whether to embrace this fortune or deny it. But one thing was certain: he could never go back to his previous life. The miserable, worthless trash everybody knew had to die after tonight. "This is your room, Young Master. Feel free to explore. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to let me or any of the staff know. This is now your home," Oscar said before pulling out a wrapped item from his pocket. He unwrapped it and handed it to Peter. "Here," he said. "This is a rare four crown black card. It contains twenty million dollars as your monthly allowance. And you no longer have to stay in the school dormitory. We will arrange convoys to drop you off

"Hello, Sir?" the voice called softly. "I believe I am speaking with Peter Graham?" Peter frowned, trying to remember if he was missing something. He was Peter, but Graham? Certainly not him. These scammers were getting more creative by the day. Too bad... the guy couldn’t even get his name right. He scoffed, already knowing how these things went. "I'm sorry, wrong number." He ended the call and sighed heavily, still thinking about his miserable life when the same number called for the tenth time. "What the heck is wrong with this person?" he muttered in complete annoyance. "I am not Peter Graham." He picked up the call to explain one last time to this weirdo before blocking the number. "Please stop calling me or I'll block and report your number. I am not—" "Please hear me out, Sir," the voice cut in before he could end the call. "You're Peter Lawson. Peter was lying on the hospital mattress when he suddenly began to flinch. He opened his eyes weakly, and everything around him appeared in blurry stripes. 'Where am i?' 'What happened to me?' 'How did I end up here?' Those were the questions running through his mind. He finally regained a bit of consciousness and tried to sit up, rubbing his hands on the back of his neck to ease the sharp ache. "He's awake!" "Bruh? Are you okay?" "Peter, talk to us. How are you?" Peter turned around and saw his two best friends surrounding him like a patient who had just undergone brain surgery. "Tom?... Owen?" he called out softly, staring them in the eyes. Relief washed over him the moment he set his eyes on them. At least he hadn’t lost his friends because of love, they were still a few people who actually cared about him. He wasn’t alone in this cruel world after all, because he still had his buddies by his side. "What... happened?" Peter asked skeptically as little fragm
