Olivia’s POV

Brazil is noisy, wild, and beautifully chaotic.

The sun hasn’t even risen yet, but I’m already awake, sipping bitter hotel coffee and staring out at the city of Rio de Janeiro from the narrow balcony. Eddy is still in bed, half-buried in sheets, his arm stretched to where I used to be. I haven’t told him yet, but I didn’t sleep a wink. Something about this place feels off.

My phone buzzes on the small table.

Finally.

I swipe it open and tap the encrypted line.

“It’s me,” I whisper. “Talk.”

On the other end, my Brazilian contact, Gabriella, breathes heavily like she ran to take the call.

“You were right, Olivia. She exists. Her name’s Laura McGregor. Passport confirms it. She’s been living in Santa Teresa alone since her mother passed away last year.”

My heart skips.

John Chen, you bastard. You really did have a daughter stashed here.

Gabriella continues, “She’s working part-time at a bookshop. Has no clue who her father really was.”

I lean against the wall, heart racing.

The rain in Brazil isn’t kind it falls like a curse, loud and fast, drumming against the windshield as we swerve down narrow alleys in the back of a stolen car. Eddy drives with one hand, the other holding a Glock, eyes darting between the road and the side mirror. I sit beside him, my heart pounding, my breathing shallow.“They’re still behind us,” he mutters.I don’t need to ask who.Pedro.Laura’s boyfriend. And the real monster we didn’t see coming.A gang leader, hidden in plain sight behind charm and romance. We thought Laura was just some grieving daughter caught in a twisted inheritance. We didn’t know she was connected. We didn’t know Pedro controlled half of the criminal underbelly of Rio’s slums. And now he wants us dead.“You sure the safehouse is real?” Eddy asks, his voice clipped.I nod, gripping the burner phone. “Gabriella sent coordinates. It's a compound outside the city. Abandoned surveillance post. Should still have food, weapons, medical… everything.”He nods tig

  • Chapter 112: The Devil's Right Hand

Justin's POVThe more I try to sleep, the more my mind refuses to shut off.I pace the marble floor of my penthouse, the sound of my bare feet echoing like taunts in my own head. It stretches outside the glass walls, a city that never sleeps just like me. It's a maze of chaos, and I’ve always thrived in it. But now? It’s different.Kelvin is coming.I feel him in the air, in every silence, in every damn breath I take.So I will prepare.I don’t just prepare I overprepare. War doesn’t wait for weakness, and I refuse to be weak. That’s why I bring in Donald.Donald is a savage, and that’s exactly what I need. He's not the kind of man who blinks when blood sprays on his face. He thrives in dirt, and power, and fear. He doesn’t ask too many questions, and that suits me just fine. Now he sits across from me in my living room, feet on my glass table like he owns the place, cigarettes smoke twisting into the air.“You’ve got half the police chiefs in your pocket,” he says with a smirk. “The

  • Chapter 111: Whiskey and Confessions

Eddy's POVThe plane dips low over the glittering city lights of São Paulo. Olivia leans against the window, eyes wide, lips parted slightly in wonder. She looks beautiful in the half-light of the cabin, even if she’s wearing combat boots and a bulletproof vest under that leather jacket. I’ve seen her kill a man without blinking but in moments like this, she just looks... soft. Unreachable, but soft.I shift in my seat and try to focus on the mission. Angela McGregor. Daughter of John Chen. The only loose thread left in a knot Kelvin wants tied and burned. That’s why we’re here. And yet, ever since we boarded this flight, it’s been impossible to ignore the shift in the air between us.“Ever been to Brazil before?” she asks suddenly, her voice playful as she turns to face me.“No.”“Didn’t think so. You’re too... structured. The kind who’d take vacation time just to do target practice in the woods.”I don’t answer. She smirks. “Relax, soldier boy. We’re not here for war. Yet.”I glance

I arrive at the warehouse with heavy steps, the cold concrete beneath my shoes echoing the tension in my chest. I’ve avoided coming here directly for too long, but now there’s no other way. If John Chen no, Peter McGregor wants to talk only to me, then fine. He’ll get me. But this time, it’s on my terms. He’s tied to the same chair, but he looks cleaner. Eddy must’ve cleaned him up a bit. Or maybe John requested it. He has this irritating sense of pride, even on the edge of death. The moment our eyes meet, he smirks. “Kelvin,” he says like we’re old business partners. “Didn’t think you’d actually come.”“You left me no choice,” I say. “Now talk.”“I will,” he says, licking his cracked lips. “But not for free.”Of course. The bastard always wants more.“What’s your price?”“Five million dollars.”I don’t blink. “For what?”“For everything. Documents, voice recordings, offshore accounts everything that proves Justin’s involvement in the Eclipse sabotage, the drug channels, the assassin

  • Chapter 109: The Art of Shattering a Man

I know I won’t spend too long behind bars. I have an alibi I never left my house the night Justin was kidnapped. Olivia already wiped every trace, and Eddy made sure nothing could be traced back to me. But it doesn’t matter. Just being locked up, even briefly, reminds me how quickly power can shift.Justin couldn’t name Eddy. He never even saw his face clearly. All he has is blind hatred for me. And that’s fine. I want him to hate me. I want him to lose sleep wondering when I’ll strike again.Sitting in the cold cell, I make a decision. No more playing it safe. No more watching from the shadows. I’ll make sure everything Justin cherishes crumbles to dust. Slowly. Perfectly. Permanently. My first move? John Chen. That snake was planning to flee to Brazil. Olivia intercepted his fake passport request. He was almost gone until I stopped him. Or rather, Eddy did.I can’t risk being involved directly anymore, so I gave Eddy full control. And if there’s one man I trust with this kind of job
