CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Julius became the hottest topic in Combat society that morning as everyone who saw him walking through the hallway had their eyes on him, wondering who he was, and when he had gotten into the Combat society.

On the other hand, he knew his way around the Combat society, and that made everyone who saw him walking confidently to the locker room for the senior cadets to wonder how he was able to know all of that since he was evidently new to the Combat society.

CHAPTER FORTY-SIX Julius paid full attention to the vision Lord Draevyn showed him, focusing on the six heirs seated on their different thrones. He could recognize Lord Draevyn who seemed to be their leader and was the first to speak. The rest of the heirs were looking at him, obviously, they were waiting for him to speak while he slowly stood up from his throne, adjusted his throne, and cleared his throat before he began to address them. “I welcome you all to this meeting. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you, knowing fully that you all will be occupied in your different realms.” “Lord Draevyn, tell us the reason why you called us. We do not have all day to be here, and as you rightly stated, we are very busy. This isn’t the actual time when the heirs are supposed to be gathered.” Said a tall man with an imposing stature and a brown mustache that stood tall and curved above his mouth. His red eyes portrayed evidence of his vile nature, and his desperation t

CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE The moment Julius heard Vera’s voice behind him, he turned around to look at her with a look of surprise on his face. “Vera?”“Hello, Diego. I knew you were going to do it, I was certain of it.” Vera wore a pleasant smile on her face, and after she chuckled softly while looking at Julius, she turned toward Lord Draevyn who had a smile on his face as well. “Lord Draevyn?”“Vera? You were right, he certainly is the right one for the task. I had my doubts about him, but seeing what he just did, I am convinced that we made the right choice after all.”“I told you so, didn’t I?” Vera asked Lord Draevyn who nodded in response with his smile unpaired. He turned to look at Julius who was looking at them with several thoughts running through his mind. “Diego? Are you still here with us?” “So this was a test?” Julius asked with a whisper, looking at Vera who refused to say even a word while she continued staring at him. “This wasn’t a test, Diego. I was just being spont

CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR Lord Draevyn walked up to Julius who was still waiting for him to give him a response, and when he got really close to him, stood beside him, he sighed softly. “The Dark War, Diego. This was where it happened.” “Here…” Julius sighed softly, taking another look at the ruins that were scattered all over the place. “The Dark War sealed the fate of the infinite forest, the elementals were disconnected from their guardians, and hidden in places far away from the forest. This caused the darkness that loomed all over the forest.” Julius paid keen attention to Lord Draevyn as he spoke. When Lord Draevyn said the last word, he took another look at the castle and returned his gaze to Lord Draevyn after a few seconds. “Logan caused the War I suppose.” “Mmh-hmm.” Lord Draevyn nodded at once, and when he had managed to get rid of the frown that appeared on his face after he heard the name Julius mentioned, he spoke with a low tone. “Logan was one of the best guardians ch

CHAPTER FORTY-THREE Julius stared at Lord Draevyn as he walked toward his throne, his hands were clasped behind him, and he walked very slowly as though he was waiting for Julius to join him. When Julius saw that Lord Draevyn was getting farther away from him with every step he took, he had to go after him, increasing his steps as well just to make sure he caught up with him. Lord Draevyn continued walking until he got very close to his throne before he stood still and turned toward his right with a smile on his face. “I want to take you somewhere, Diego. Somewhere I think you need to see…” Lord Draevyn said with a low tone while Julius stepped forward, eager to know where he was going to take him. “We need a ride to that place. Hold on, I will get us one.” Lord Draevyn lifted both hands in the air while Julius looked up with a little nervousness, thinking that he was going to see the huge dragon that he dreaded. Instead, a bright light appeared in the sky, and two white-winged

CHAPTER FORTY-TWO Julius felt a strange sensation inside him as he was sucked into the portal that took him to an unknown destination. The first sight that attacked his eyes was that of darkness that had no iota of light until he began to see tiny stars that appeared slowly from the sky. “Diego!” The male husky voice came again, echoing all over the ambiance, and making it very difficult for him to focus while he struggled to know where the voice was coming from exactly. Slowly, he landed on the hard floor that was covered with darkness, still looking around amidst the silence that surrounded the entire place as soon as the voice was dome echoing. “Diego? Come forward. Come…” The voice echoed again, causing Julius to turn around slowly, but he was still unable to find out where the voice was coming from. “Who are you? Where am I?” Julius turned around for the umpteenth time, still looking around while he struggled with the bemusement that engulfed him. He continued to listen wi

CHAPTER FORTY-ONE Julius walked into his bedroom at once, and when he was about to move to the bed, a thought crept into his mind, he slowly walked up to the cabinet close to his bed, opened the drawer, and pulled out the golden dagger which belonged to Circe. Sitting on the bed, and carefully holding onto it with his right hand, he looked at it for a while, observing the unique carvings on it, and the fact that he had never seen a knife as sharp as it, not even the ones used in the restaurant where he worked as a waiter. “What is so special about you?” He whispered to the dagger as though it could hear him, looking at the sharp edge, and wondering the kind of steel used in making it. “Vera mentioned that it was forged by the dwarves and one of the greatest weapons of all time. This is so handy to be a great weapon.” Julius pushed his index finger on the sharp tip of the dagger, and ur stung him at once, causing him to grunt at once while he looked at the spot on his finger where
