CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE After a few hours of sound sleeping, Julius woke up from sleep and stood up from the bed. He went into the bathroom and took a long shower before he put on fresh clothes walked out of his chambers and headed to the dining hall. “Good evening, Lord Diego…” “Good evening, Gladys” Julius greeted the middle-aged lady who was standing by a corner of the dining hall, smiling with her hands clasped together. “You are right on time for dinner. I was almost about to ask Mr. Dominicto knock at your door.” “Oh, I see…” Julius sighed softly while he reciprocated the smile from the middle-aged lady. “Well, I am here now. What do you have for me?”“Why don’t you just have a seat and find out yourself?” Gladys gestured to the table, and Julius grabbed the seat by the right end of the table and sat down slowly. He adjusted himself almost immediately and placed his hands on the table. “Well?” He turned to look at Gladys who quickly grabbed the dish cover to reveal the food

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT Vera’s countenance showed intense struggle while she tried to make up her mind over what she was going to tell Julius who was paying keen attention, and wanted to hear whatever she was going to say to him. “I see that you are eager to get an answer, Diego,” Vera said calmly and smiled at Julius who remained silent with so much eagerness to hear what she was going to say. “Your parents both originated from lines of supernaturals. Your father was a powerful wizard, and your mother, your mother…she was a nymph who had special abilities. They were blessed by the Divine, but their love was forbidden.” Vera paused for a while and took in a deep breath which she let out slowly before she continued with a low tone. “They had duties that they were obliged to carry out in their different worlds, but they decided to abandon them for the sake of the love they had for each other. CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN Julius pushed himself up from the bed, turning to look at Vera who was still standing close to the wall behind the bed with a smile on her face. “I wonder when I am going to get used to you showing up on me like that.” Julius sat on the bed, looking at Vera who slowly walked up to the bed and sat down beside him. Her smile showed so much excitement, causing Julius to forget that she had startled him a while ago to focus on the strange look on her face. “You seem unusually excited, Vera.” “Oh, you noticed.” Vera chuckled excitedly, looking at Julius who was hoping that she could give her a solid reason behind her unusual mood. “Did you also notice something else, Diego?” Vera lifted her eyebrows while she maintained her smile, waiting patiently to hear what Julius was going to say. “Am I supposed to notice any other thing? I am not sure I can be able to read minds.” “Look closer, Diego. What you seek is right in front of you.” Vera blinked severally and lift

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX The ride from the premises of the company back to the Castle took about thirty minutes as the cars moved through the busy roads occupied by other road users who were also on their way to their various destinations. Rebecca stoked interval glances at Julius, waiting for the rogue opportunity to start up a conversation, but Julius’s deadpan countenance gave her no chance to say even a single word. “Miss West?” Julius turned to look at her while they were getting really close to the avenue that led to the castle. “Yes, Lord Diego,” Rebecca answered with a bright smile on her face, unintentionally showing the excitement she felt from hearing her name from the young CEO’s mouth. Julius waited for a few seconds while still trying to find out the reason behind the excitement on her face. “How long have you been working in the company?” “Three weeks, Lord Diego. Just three weeks.” Rebecca responded while still maintaining her smile, nodding almost at the same time.

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE A few seconds after Julius walked away from the conference room, Nick hurriedly followed him, and in the seconds he caught up with him, he turned to look at him with a smile on his face.Dominicwalked ahead of him alongside some of the bodyguards who were hanging around the hallway that led to the elevator. Just when he was about to take a step closer to the elevator doors, Julius noticed that the Manager was standing beside him, and he turned to look at him. “I hope there is no problem, Mr. Raven.” “Not at all, Lord Diego. There is one more thing…” Nick said with a whisper, gesturing with his index finger while Julius stopped almost immediately alongside Rebecca who was trying to make sure she maintained the same pace with her even though she regretted putting on those black heels that she bought recently. “What could that be?” Julius asked almost immediately, looking at Nick who was trying to get a grip on himself after he had done a little exercise while t

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR Just before he continued speaking, Nick cleared his throat twice just before he spoke with a low tone that almost sounded like a whisper. “This is a record of all the employees that have worked in this company, and those currently working here, beginning from the Managers to the Janitors, and even the security guards. Their personal information is detailed in this folder.“ “Right…” Julius nodded while he gently dragged the blue folder close to himself and glanced at the files inside it, flipping randomly from one page to the other. Realizing that there were over three hundred profiles in the folder, Julius lifted his head slowly after about ten seconds to look at the Manager who was still in his posture. “I think I would have to go with this, and this as well. I would have to take my time to go through them.” “That would be a good idea, Lord Diego.” Nick nodded at once, turning to Rebecca, whom he gave a signal to, causing her to quickly walk up to the table
