Kael was welcomed into the king's hut. Gold hung from the wooden roof, glimmering under the cracking fire at the center of the room.

At the entrance stood two guards, armed with swords.

Karl looked around. "So this is where you live? For how long?"

"For as long as I can't remember," Said jangan. "This is our ancestors land, and they've been fighting to protect it over the years."

Jangan leaned forward, his eyes assessing Kael curiously. "So, how did you get here?"

Kael shook his head lightly. "I don't know," He said. "I'm a god from Elyndra...I have been in void for 2000 years until I woke up to find myself in your world."

Jangan leaned back into the wooden chair, his hand tapping gently on the table as the whole thing was confusing.

"That sounds like some stories on a particular app called Meganovel," He said and leaned in. "Is your world Meganovel then?"

Kael chuckled. "It's Elydra."

Jangan nodded, his finger still tapping as his confusion deepened. There is something about Kael he couldn't place yet.

"So," He. Continued. "You were taught how to fight in Elydra? I have never seen your skill anywhere in the world. You dodged all my skilled warriors attacks without dropping a sweat."

Kael laughed quietly, feeling the warmth from the fire. His brow lifted in exaggerated surprise. "You call those cheap tricks of yours an attack, from your skilled warriors," He said. "That's just some childish stunts."

Jangan didn't find it offensive. Seeing Kael display good skill earlier, he was more interested to know more about him.

"One of those arrows can take down an Elephant."

"That's why I am the supreme Lor... Nevermind. You're not going to get it." He said.

A beautiful woman walked in carrying a calabash of grilled meat and a broth. A young girl of about 8 walked in beside her, carrying an Ewer— an old jug containing water.

The woman bowed respectfully, placing the calabash on the table.

She collected the jug from her daughter and dropped in on the table. "Here is the meat you asked me to prepare, my king." She dropped it with a respectful bow.

Jangan nodded in satisfaction, looking at the woman with love in his eyes.

"You've done well, Mirae."

Jangan turned to Kael. "Here is my wife, Mirae," He carried the young girl on his lap. "And my beautiful daughter, Elsa." The young girl grinned at Kael with a lovely and innocent smile.

Kael looked at the girl with a gentle smile. He felt strange. "Why does it feel like I also have a daughter," He said. "This body definitely has a daughter."

Kael looked at the grilled meat. It looks appetizing, and the gentle smoke curling from the broth filled his nose with a good aroma. But he was an extraordinary being. He's neither hungry nor thirsty.

He shifted his look to Jangan. "Thank you for...."

A heavy sound tore through the night, cutting him off.

Jangan's seat scrapped as he pushed the wooden chair back and jumped to his feet. He already knew what was coming.

"They're here," He alerted and spun on Mirae. "Take Elsa to the underground hideout. Don't come out until I come for you."

Kael stood up gently, his expression calm but laced with curiosity. "Who are they?"

"Your people. They're here." He grabbed a bow and threw it at Kael. "You might need it. Their weapons are extraordinary."

Jangan stumbled out after grabbing his own bow and a sword.

"Warrior," He yelled, breezing out, his stride heavy on the floor. "Defend the land!"

Warriors and muscular men and some strong women spilled out from their hut with their crude weapons, while the unskilled woman and kids stayed behind, hidden.

Outside, the night was heavy. Stars and moonlight spilled light on the village, casting the shadows of Men— up to ten men, dressed in Black outfits, each of them handling dangerous rifles in readiness. Behind them were two helicopters.

The warriors of the Village stood a few meters away, defending themselves with crude weapons.

Jangan's expression was icy, but fear rippled in his heart. They have never succeeded in any attacks from the men.

The leader of the men in black stepped forward with his rifle. A scar crossed his brow to below his eyes.

"Get out of the way, you warthogs" He growled, his rifle ready in his hand. "We're here to take what belongs to us, stinking ancient men."

Laughter burst into the night from Scarface men.

Jangan's fist curled, but at the side, finding his words offensive. But he didn't move. He knew he was those who he was up against wield weapons far more dangerous and advanced than theirs. It'll be a suicide attempt to retaliate.

"You can take anything you want," He toned fearlessly, but battled fear underneath the obvious firmness. "But you won't touch any one of us."

Among the villagers was a female warrior, armed with a bow. She's fair, and captivating.

Scarface, the leader of the intruders Chuckled low, his eyes lusting on the female warriors, already imagining her under his chest.

A smug smirk tugged the corner of his lips. "Looks like we won't be taking only gold tonight," He said, his finger jabbing at the girl. He beacon at her "You. Come."

Jangan's vein pulsed with anger, his finger clutching his bow tight. " We agreed you'll take only the gold."

Scarface laughed hysterically. "You old thing thinks you call the shot here? You might be the king here, but whenever we come here, you show some respect."

"Bring the girl." Scarface Commanded and two of his men moved.

The warriors pulled out their weapons, but two bullets from the men pulled them back in fear.

Scarface chukled in amusement and mockery. "Bunch of monkey."

Jangan gripped his bow tight till his knuckles nearly tore his skin.

"Take a move, and you'll be dead before you realize it." Scarface warned.

The men grabbed the girl. She struggled with them, hitting one in the groin. He doubled over, pain shooting through his brain.

"You filthy whore " Angrily, he landed a slap on her face. She stumbled back, her bow clattering to the floor.

"Let me of me.." She screamed, but the men held her firmly, whisking her to Scarface as commanded.

"You heard her," A grave voice came from behind. "Let her go this moment if you still find your head useful."

Kael stepped out of the darkness.
