The entrance of Starlight hospital flooded with reporters, patrons, and nurses. Light scattered on the queen's face, Serena in charcoal black dress as she began her sob story that trembles the heart.

The air was quieter, filled with melancholic emotions. Cameras locked on her face, waiting for her to start speaking, but it felt as though she was too overwhelmed by the unfortunate death of her daughter, or maybe the fortunate death of her daughter as oblivious to the world.

Tears spilled from her eyes non-stop, practiced, mastered.

Everyone was watching. The world was listening.

The scene went live. People at home stood very close to their TV, some pressed their eyes to their phones, looking sad and sad.

Serena wiped another drop of tear from her face, and she then raised her head to speak.

"She was a good girl. Innocent. Sweet.." Her voice broke— intentional, practiced. But the world didn't catch the deceit in her voice. They couldn't. Some people were already shedding tears with her, some crossed their arms on their chest, overwhelmed with pity and the sad story.

Dr. Frankenstein stood behind, his role unplayed yet, but he was trapped in the scene. He looked at Serena, wondering just how vicious she was if she could twist her daughter's demise into a sob story to drive her career.

She continued, her eyes misting with tears. "Only someone who doesn't have a daughter doesn't know what it takes to lose one. Aria...she was everything to me. Her chocolate still lies on the table at home. I thought she was going to come back, but..." Her voice trialed off into sob.

She was quickly escorted to her car by her bodyguard, as though the weight of staying had succumbed to the weight of moving forward. But it was all sham.

The crowd parted to the side as the queen walked through, camera light flickering on her face relentlessly. But this was no celebration, maybe not really as it seemed. It was a funeral— to the world. But to Serena, it was one hell good step, a climb towards her throne.

As she walked to her car, the bodyguards whisked the body of Aria into the car to place in a coffin at the back. Black, gold tapping at the edge.

Murmuring rose in the air at that moment.

"Did she have a coffin prepared for her daughter just knowing she just died?" Murmuring passed between the crowd.

"Does that mean she had been dead all along?"

But Serena had already stepped inside her Cadillac. Her convoy moved.

The reporter went haywire, pressing towards the entrance to meet Dr. Frankenstein. Lights flashed on his eyes. Questions flew at him from Different angles. Each one felt like a dagger on his flesh.

"How long has she been dead?"

"What really happened to her? How did she die?"

"Has Serena been informed about her death before?"

He pinned at the spot, hands crossed behind, shaking and clammy with sweats. Sweats rolled down from his temple. His lips twitched to spill the truth that was erased behind the door to the world as guilt warred with the earlier resolve and Serena's dark deal. He wasn't used to this, but his family's life is hanging on the thin line.

If Serena could harm her own blood, then his own blood is just nonsense trash to her.

Meaning, inside of the Cadillac, Serena smirked, wiping the fake tears from her eyes with a napkin. She picked up her phone and fixed eyes on the live footage, waiting for Dr. Frankenstein to play his part.

Kael stood inside of the cramped room, his hand crossed behind in quiet composure. His expression was cold, fixed on the TV, on Dr. Frankenstein.

Dr. Frankenstein gulped, swallowing nothing. "She was poisoned," He started quietly, forcing his voice steady. "The poison had corrupted her systems before she was brought to the clinic from treatment."

A pause.

Lights from the Cameras flashed on his face relentlessly.

Dr. Frankenstein faced the camera squarely now.

"Ms. Serena had been with her since that time," The statement felt really bitter. "But it was unfortunate we lost her despite all her efforts to keep her alive."

The atmosphere fell into a sad silence.

Serena smiked, leaning back into the leather with unmistakable calmness, obviously satisfied by the disclosure. No despair. No tears. Just a cruel heartless b*tch who had played shit sorrowful minutes ago.

In the next second, messages flooded her dm. Text messages kept dropping in, her Ins*****m was restless with messages.

Most of the messages were consolation texts, and motivation messages from strangers, supporter, and families.

Serena smirked and looked at the blurring road. The city which is soon going to be hers.

"Now, it's time to play the second part." Her finger tapped the screen, and she pressed the phone to her ear. "Release the news. Now."

“Have you seen who you've come to visit, Elijah?" Martha asked Elijah impatiently, her expression twisting slightly due to how uncomfortable the gown she wore felt— It felt really out of place for her regardless of the grandiose. She wasn't used to wearing such a body-fitting and resplendent gown but she had to wear it since Elijah wanted it for whatever surprise he has. What was more uncomfortable for her was the stares she was driving from onlookers especially men.Imaginarily, as the smoldering looks lingered on her body, she felt the zippers at the back crawling down, the metallic slider cold against her bare skin as though the gawking eyes from men staring shamelessly was stripping her bare.“God!” She muttered, finger pressed against her temple, her low, almost tired voice giving away her frustration.“I'm sorry, Mum. Just a moment, please.” Elijah who was mid-conversation with Evelyn turned to her slightly with a half yet genuine smile, obviously absorbed by the conversation w
