The night seemed to drag on not to have the break of a new day, as though it feared the consequences of what it might reveal.
Stars littered the sky like sentinels, glimmering on the village of jangan. Kael was still standing by the window, the cool gentle forest breeze brushing against his face as he was still processing the faces that flashed in his memories earlier... Benjamin's memory. He'd tried to bind his soul with the body of Benjamin completely to access his memory, but Benjamin's body was too weak for the soul binding. It costs a lot of energy. His soul was way too powerful for the body to hold so Benjamin's body was holding just half of his power. "There must be a way my soul binds with the weak body completely." He muttered under his breath, his mind spinning. Eleano walked to him in concern, standing beside him. "Is anything the problem? You've been lost after the...." She paused, her face burning with embarrassment. Kael glanced at her, his expression calm but firm. He looked away with his head lifted into the glimmering constellations in the sky. "What do you think is the problem when faces which you don't recognize flashes in your head?" He asked quietly. Eleano looked into the sky as though to see exactly what he was seeing, and then looked back at him when he saw just stars. A gentle and bitter smile curled at the corner of her lips as she stared into the sky again. "When my mother died, her face always appeared to me in my dreams," She said, her mind swelling with euphoric emotions as sweet memories with her mother flooded her head. "We share every moment together. And I think it was because of the strong bond between us that's why I keep seeing her face in my dreams." She paused. Keal turned sideways to look at her. "Bond?" He muttered thoughtfully while Eleano nodded. "When you share deep bonds with people, it'll be hard to erase their face from your mind." Eleano pressed on, this time her voice was low, something akin to jealousy flashing in her eyes. "Is the person you're seeing her face your wife?" Silence fell between them. The rustling of distance leave litters and forest animals pierced the otherwise gentle night. Kael looked at her. Her jealousy was palpable. But kael looked past her emotions, reasoning her assertion. Now that he couldn't bind his soul with Benjamin's body, he only needs to be smarter to get to the root of the unknown. If he had his full power, he could have looked into Benjamin's past to see all what was hidden from him, but the body was as useless as a vegetable! His mind reeled, connecting fragments of his unreasonable thoughts. "Those faces he'd seen, that means they shared tight bonds...." His thoughts paused. ".. could the woman be the wife of this body....and the small girl is his daughter?" The thought clicked. Eleano was asking about if he really was a god, and what the place he came from looks like when the phone buzzed in his hand again. Kael's thought was interrupted as he looked at the glowing screen to see comprehensive letters: Dr. Frankenstein. His eyes narrowed slightly in thoughtfulness as he picked up the call. "Mr. Benjamin Hart," Dr. Frankenstein's voice came out in a rush. He hadn't expected the call to be picked having repeatedly dialed Benjamin with no response. "Benjamin hart.." Keal said in his thoughts, his brow slightly raised. "That's his name." "Can you hear me?" "Of course Doctor. I can hear you. I hope there is no problem?" Kael said calmly, following the conversation gently as though he was the original Benjamin though he was curious. "What's the problem?" Dr. Frankenstein was stunned by his question. "You left your daughter in the ward since the last twenty-four hours and you're asking if there's problems? Hell. There is! Big problem at that." Kael turned away from the window gently, the amber lantern glowing on his face. He sensed trouble and fear Beneath Dr. Frank's tone. "I am sorry, Doctor," He clipped, quickly catching on with the conversation. "I got into a little trouble while I was scraping for the money for her treatment. How's my daughter now?" A long pause stretched on the phone. Kael watched Eleano arrange the wooden bed at the corner of the small room as he waited for the Dr's response. "I'm sorry to announce this, Mr. Benjamin," His voice came low, knowing and pitiful. "She didn't survive it. Your daughter, Aria is dead." Silence hung over the phone, seemingly to last for an eternity. At that moment, as though the revelation scratched the surface of something inside long buried inside of keal, memories exploded in his head; Memories of Benjamin with her daughter....how they shared small joyful moments together in their cramped apartment and amusement parks, him walking into imperial Bank and denied loan, him getting humiliated by people, and arrested by those fake officers. Everything replayed like it happened just a while ago. Kael's heart tightened, seeing the pain and emotional damages his soul host had faced before.. and then lastly on the bridge where he was shot dead with a bullet in the chest....the memory snapped. Kael's fist curled so hard his knuckles cracked. His finger dug into his palm— deep and unyielding, blood trickling. Eleano who was about to conclude the bed arrangement froze, standing straighter as she sensed the building tension in the weird silence. The world seemed to lurch. Trees flogged the air wildly like whip. Birds fluttered away from their nest, singing incomprehensible songs. The forest dragged dust and leaves through the darkness, spinning tornado. "Human...." Kael gritted out, his voice a quiet thunder, disturbing the whole forest with an unworldly aura. His eyes bloodied with rage. At the corner of the room, a mud jug shattered under the weight of his invisible aura. Eleano stepped back, feeling strange coldness under the warm glow of the ember lantern. Kael's eyes shone brightly with white light. The powerful soul of Kael, the supreme god of Elydra binded with Benjamin's body completely. At the other end, Dr. Frankenstein's hand was shaking on the phone. His office seemed to spin upside down. A bottle of cold water on his water he pulled out from the fridge earlier was boiling as though under volcanic heat. "What...what the heck is happening?" His voice cracked with confusion and fear. The phone slipped, clattering to the ground.Latest Chapter

She didn't sit. She just looked around with cold gaze, assessing the room.He turned to look at the doctor. "It's safe to say you got no camera in here," She said. "Is everything ready?" I'll do everything you tell me. Don't just harm my family," His voice trembled slightly. Serena smirked and nodded. "Let's proceed, shall we." She moved, turning to walk out but Dr. Frankenstein's voice stopped her. "I'll return the money you wired. I can't collect it." He said, tryi

Threat from a nobody

Her mind reeled to different possibilities. Her hand hovered on screen as she contemplated swiping to green or terminating he strange number.Eventually, she picked the call. The phone laid on her hand as she waited for a voice to break through the speaker."Hello," A masculine voice cracked the speaker. "Can I be assured i'm speaking with Mrs. Hart?" "It's Serena. Just serena." She corrected immediately. The man paused at the other end as though rethinking his former composed words. "Ms. Serena. I hope you'r
His death, her resssurection
Kael stepped out from the bathroom bare chested. Only his waist was covered with animal skin in place of a towel. His damp hair slicked backwards, accentuating his handsome face. His body was a creation of perfection. He moved into the room, and suddenly the door opened without a knock. A woman walked in. It was the female warrior he saved earlier.Seeing him barely covered up, she startled. Her cheek flushed crimson with embarrassment. "I'm sorry..I'm sorry," She quickly turned with the plate of warm herbal tea steaming in his hand. "I didn't know you'll be out so quickly. Sorry I didn't knock before entering."Kael observed her for some quiet moments. "It's alright." Eleano, the female warrior hesitated at the door, her back still turned on Kael. Her skin was flawless under the golden glow of the wall lantern. The animal skin wrapped her chest tight, pumping the upper part of her bossom like balloon. And her legs were Immaculate, as though it was stepping on the ground for the
