“What’s going on? What’s wrong with him?” Barnes asked, his eyes wide open.

“Call that officer back in,” Charlie said.

Barnes turned toward the door and called for the mid-level officer from earlier. However, his call was drowned out by Jefferson's screams and groans. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he strode to the door with heavy steps.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was still screaming and groaning while pulling his own hair. His facial expression showed that he was enduring unbearable pain. But pain from what? What suddenly made him hurt so much?

Barnes opened the door and called the mid-level officer in. The soldier immediately ran in. He knelt beside Jefferson and tried to calm his superior down.

Charlie was stunned. As was Barnes, who had just returned to his position. They looked at each other for a moment, not saying anything. Both observed the mid-level officer trying to calm Jefferson down by repeatedly saying that he was now in a completely safe state.

Eventually, Jefferson did st

  • Annoying Procedure

“Stop it, Zara!”Leon parried all of Zara's attempts to kiss him and stood up. This time, his gaze at Zara was full of anger.“I came here with good intentions. I have explained my boundaries, in a kind way. But you are still trying to overstep those boundaries. This is too much. I’m leaving.”“Leon, wait—”As he said, Leon left. His steps were so fast that Zara didn't have time to stop him; he had already closed the apartment door and slammed it shut.Zara could have chased him, left her apartment and run down the hallway. But she was only wearing a bra and underwear right now. Even though her mental condition was poor, she still felt it was too risky. She never knew what kind of people inhabited the units in this apartment—especially in the hallway where her unit was located. So what did Zara do next? Cry. Yes, cry. She started sobbing again. She brought both her legs up onto the sofa. She hugged both her legs and buried her head in her thighs....Meanwhile, in the tower lobby…Exi

“Zara, why aren't you wearing clothes?” Leon looked at Zara confused.Zara walked around the sofa. Leon's eyes remained locked on her. He was well aware that Zara was deliberately making her movements appear sensual. Her expression also emphasized that.“Why? This is my home, after all. Isn't it normal for a woman to only wear a bra and underwear in her own home? Besides, I'm not naked,” Zara said.Zara now sat on the sofa, to Leon's right—where she was sitting earlier. Leon couldn't help but look at the firm curves covered by the bra, as well as Zara's thighs that looked shiny as if they had been oiled.“Yes, it’s normal, but only if you are alone here. Now I’m here, and I'm a man. Don’t you think you are being a bit… excessive?” Leon complained.Zara smiled. Deliberately, she touched the fingers of her hands to her curves, slightly squeezing them.“Leon, you asked what you could do to help me earlier. Were you serious when you said that? Or was it just being polite?” Zara asked, sti

  • Don't Drink Anymore

Leon stopped by Zara's apartment, a fairly luxurious unit in the eastern area of Greystone Hollow. This was not surprising, considering Zara's monthly income as a doctor must be quite high. When Leon arrived at the lobby of the tower where Zara's apartment unit was located, Zara was already waiting for him—standing and giving him a faint smile. Leon frowned. Zara looked fine. At the very least, she didn't look like someone who was experiencing severe mental problems. But outward appearances are often deceiving. Leon realized that. He dismissed his negative prejudice.“Have you been waiting long?” Leon asked, approaching Zara.“Quite,” Zara replied, widening her smile a bit. “Shall we go straight up?”Leon nodded. They walked toward the elevator.Zara used her special access and the two of them entered the elevator. Zara's apartment unit turned out to be on the 26th floor. Quite high up. They had enough time for a brief chat on the way up.“So, are you okay?” Leon asked, glancing at Za

  • Problem Resolved?

When Charlie finally lowered his hand holding the phone, his expression was very clouded. No one else in the room heard what the President had said. But, judging by his look, it was clearly not something pleasant."What exactly have you done?" Charlie asked, staring sharply at Leon. "The person who called you just now, was it really Mr. Norm?""Something like that," Leon answered casually. "And I guess you both know what you have to do now."Leon was still cross-armed, smiling faintly. Charlie scowled. His eyes were full of anger."Lower your weapon, Barnes," Charlie said."Sir?" Barnes turned, looking at Charlie confused."I said lower your weapon!" Charlie said firmly.Reluctantly, Barnes did what Charlie asked. But his gaze was still full of confusion. When he looked at Leon again, Leon widened his smile and raised one eyebrow."Is that all? Is that all you need to say, Mr. Minister of Defense?" Leon asked sarcastically.Charlie clicked his tongue. He dropped his backside onto the

  • The Call From President

Joseph was shocked by what Barnes did. He looked at Leon tensely. He was worried that Leon would welcome the provocation from Barnes. But Leon was extremely calm. One corner of his lip lifted. He had already expected this to happen. And he was fully prepared.“I know you two suspect me,” Leon began. “Maybe you’ve been swayed by that diligent police officer’s incitement. I don't know. I don't really care either. But, if you think I’m going to stay quiet while you put my family in danger, you are wrong. I will make sure you suffer the consequences if my family’s life is disturbed by your maneuvers.”Joseph looked at Leon tensely again. This time, Leon was the one who surprised him. He didn't expect Leon to utter such a threatening statement. Didn't he understand that the two people he was facing were not just anyone?Barnes and Charlie were initially silent. Then, Charlie's laughter broke out. The Minister of Defense laughed freely while patting the sofa.“Insane. This person is absolut

  • What Will You Do To Him, Sir?

The tension was immediately palpable in the luxurious presidential suite. Although Barnes did not stand, his gestures and gaze indicated that he was ready to take necessary action to eliminate a threat—even if that threat came from Joseph.Joseph had expected this to happen. But, honestly, he was quite overwhelmed. He even had to take a long breath to convince himself that he would be fine.“I apologize. I misspoke earlier,” Joseph said. “What I meant was, he is on his way here. But of course, if the gentlemen are not willing to meet him, I will contact him right now and ask him to cancel his ‘visit’ here.”Joseph and Charlie stared at each other in silence. The anger was still strongly visible in Charlie’s eyes. As for Barnes, he was tapping his right index finger on the edge of the sofa. His gaze on Joseph was extremely cold.“Are you friends with him, Joseph? Is that what you are trying to say?” Charlie asked.“Please answer my question first, sir. He is heading here. Do I need to
