The Wilson mansion was quiet that night Oliver stood outside his father’s room staring at the heavy wooden door. He had been standing there for a while, building up the courage to knock. His hands trembled slightly, and his heart beating loudly in his chest.

He knew this conversation was long overdue, Finally, Oliver raised his hand and knocked three times.

“Come in,” a deep, firm voice called out from inside.

Oliver pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was large and filled with bookshelves that reached the ceiling. A large desk sat in the middle, and behind it was Charles Wilson, his father. Charles looked up from a stack of papers, his eyes sharp and cold.

“What is it, Oliver?” Charles asked, his tone impatient. “I’m busy.”
