When Steward Luke left, Davis remained at the coffee shop, still processing everything. Not only did the Steward reveal his identity, he also made him sign a few documents and sent him an email containing all of his assets.
Davis was also given a bank card which Steward Luke told him he could use to assess the 10 billion dollars since it was sent to an account opened for him by the Gardner family. The most shocking part of it all was the assistant he got, the city wealthiest man, "Solomon Banks." Although, Davis had never met him, he had heard of him and right now such a powerful person was his assistant, it still was shocking to Davis. The rejected stone has become the chief corner stone. He grinned while shaking his head. Abruptly, he got up, about to take his leave but then he remembered the ring Steward Davis had also handed over to him - A dark ring with a Dragon Phoenix and Qilin symbol on it. Steward Luke told him the ring was very important and he should put it on, he would only understand later. Although, Davis was curious about it, he remained silent, trusting the Steward on his words. He chose not to bother at all, and slipped it on the finger it was the most comfortable. Taking a deep breath, Davis stepped outside the coffee shop. His scooter was out there, and it was obvious that Steward Luke had ordered his men to bring it over. Davis immediately got on it and rode off. *** Meanwhile, many miles away, another city entirely, a middle aged stood on a hill, his hands behind his back, his eyes deep and profound. After a moment, he shook his head and said with a, sigh, "Eventually things will fall in place even if we don't want them, we can't change fate. *** The next morning, a happy Davis went to his work place with the intention of returning the scooter and quitting his job. The HR manager seeing him said with a sneer," It's good you are here. I was about to call you and tell you that you are...." Davis didn't allow him finish before interrupting him, "I quit.". The HR manager was stunned. Infact, his intention was to inform Davis that he had been fired but he didn't expect Davis to take the initiative to call it quits. The HR manager said with anger, "Well, good for you, you can leave now." Davis raised his eyebrows as he asked, "And what about my salary?" The HR manager laughed, "What salary? You skipped work once this month and came late to work today so because of that your salary for this month has been seized. You know the policies of the company." Davis immediately became gloomy. Although, he didn't care about that little amount of money now that he knew his true identity and he was incredible wealthy, he still couldn't let anybody bully him or cheat him. Davis even suspected that somebody put the HR manager up to this, but no idea of who that could be came to his head so he just assumed this was the HR manager's intention. "The day I had a break, I made sure I took an excuse which was approved by the company so that's a very inappropriate excuse. Are you sure you want to take my money?" He asked. The HR manager sneered, "Yes, I'm taking it and there's nothing you can do about it." Davis said nothing. He only got up with a sly smile and left the office, heading to the Director's office. As if the HR manager knew Davis was headed there, he followed him right away. The Director of the delivery company, Mr. Collins was also the owner, he was a person who loved to be involved in the daily activities of his business. Davis immediately narrated what happened in the HR manager's office. However, the director of the delivery company seemed to be completely supportive on the HR manager's side. They seemed to have planned it together. Mr. Collins, the director declared, "And so what? I received complaints that you skipped work without any approval. That's enough reason to seize your salary." Davis smiled, "It seems you two are determined to go against me. I hope you don't regret this." "You sure talk big." The HR manager mocked him. Davis didn't pay them any attention. He simply took out his phone and dialed a number, "Hello, this is Davis Gardner." The voice on the other end was about to curse out but hearing the name, he immediately paused and trembled as he spoke, "Young master, Solomon at your service." The receiver was none other than his personal assistant and the wealthiest man in Havana, Solomon Banks. Davis spoke up immediately, "I'm at Sureway Delivery Company. How long would it take you to make it bankrupt?" "Sureway Delivery Company? It's just a small company, not worth much. Give me three minutes young master." Solomon replied without any hesitation. "Good." Davis said as he hung up. Then he turned to face Mr. Collins who was looking at him with a mocking expression. Mr. Collins sneered and laughed as he said, "You want to bankrupt my company, I don't know what gave you, an ordinary employee and useless son-in-law the guts to threaten me. You don't even have the ability to take your own salary and yet you want to bankrupt my company?" "Well, in three minutes, you will know if I'm joking." Davis retorted with confidence. Finally three minutes elapsed, the HR manager was the first to speak to Davis in disdain, "It's already three minutes. Your so called ability, where is it now?" At that moment, Mr. Collins phone rang. He immediately began to have a bad feeling. Then he looked at Davis. He knew Davis was just an ordinary son-in-law who was not even valued in his wife's family and had no ability to do anything so he suppressed the feeling and picked up the call. Just as he placed the phone in his ear, his expression immediately sank as fear and panic gripped him. The phone slipped from his hand, "Ah, it is finished." He shouted and just as if remembering something, he hurriedly got up from his seat and knelt in front of Davis. "Davis, no, Mr. Davis, please have mercy on me. Forgive me, sir. Please don't end my company. I've worked so hard for it." He pleaded. The HR manager still not understanding anything spoke up, "Director, why are you pleading with this useless person. Are you worried about spoiling your image, if he tells people he was fired? Don't worry, that's not an issue." Mr. Collins roared with anger as he shouted, "You bastard," He went ahead to land the HR manager a slap. "Director, you!" The HR manager held his face in confusion. Mr. Collins was not yet done as he landed another slap on his face, "Get out of here, from now on you are fired." The HR manager was still in confusion as Mr. Collins immediately notified the security men to drag the HR manager out. Then he turned his expression back to the cold faced Davis and continued pleading. "Sir, it was the HR manager's idea, please forgive me." He even went as far as banging his head on the ground. Davis said, "Well I can forgive you but..." Mr. Collins as if seeing a lifeline immediately began to thank him. "But I will buy this company from you for a dollar." Davis finally finished his words causing Mr. Collins to be gripped by shock. Davis didn't pay attention to his feelings but made himself clear. "Two things are involved, either your company goes bankrupt or I buy it for a dollar and I can still let you work here. It's your choice to make. "

INVITATION
Though Janine was seething with anger, she understood the gravity of her situation and knew she couldn’t afford to lose control. She bit her tongue, reminding herself of the purpose of her visit."I admit, I underestimated your abilities," she said, her voice calm yet edged with frustration. "So, can you treat me now?"Davis chuckled, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Do I look like some kind of convenience store, where you can just walk in, get what you need, and leave whenever you please?"His response only heightened Janine’s anxiety, the pressure of the moment weighing on her more than before. She fidgeted, desperate to find some resolution. After a tense silence, Davis finally spoke again, his voice slow and deliberate. "I can treat you, but it’s not going to be free."Janine, sensing a potential lifeline, jumped at the opportunity, her tone eager. "Of course, I understand. Just tell me how much you want. Money is no issue."Davis smirked inwardly, knowing money was nothing mor
THE PATH OF CULTIVATION
Meanwhile, Davis, drained and overwhelmed by the intense pain, had fallen into a deep, unconscious sleep, his mind adrift in a state of oblivion."Where am I?" Davis muttered to himself, his voice laced with confusion as his gaze swept over the unfamiliar surroundings. He had been in a medicinal bath, working to clear his meridians, so how had he ended up in this strange place? As his thoughts swirled, a figure in white robes appeared before him. The man’s presence exuded an undeniable aura of power, and with each step he took toward Davis, an immense pressure seemed to fill the air, weighing heavily on him. When the man reached a few steps from Davis, he came to a halt, extending a finger to gently touch Davis’s forehead. A series of strange, intricate movements followed, as if the man were performing some sort of skill or technique. Afterward, he calmly seated himself, his actions deliberate and serene.Davis, still caught in a whirlwind of confusion, began to slowly piece toget
CLEANSING PROCESS
The man swiftly returned with the needles and handed them to Davis, who wasted no time in getting to work.Taking a deep breath, Davis closed his eyes, focusing intently. After a moment of stillness, he opened his eyes and began carefully inserting the needles into several key acupoints on the woman's body. With each needle he placed, he could feel the energy being drawn from him, and the strain was palpable as beads of sweat began to drip steadily down his forehead. The physical exertion was immense, but he pressed on, his focus unwavering. After working for about ten minutes, Davis paused to rest, taking a few moments to regain his strength before continuing. He repeated this pattern—working steadily, then taking brief breaks. Yet, despite the rest, the treatment was incredibly taxing on him. This difficulty only reinforced Davis's resolve to master cultivation, as he recognized how valuable it could be in helping him to endure such challenges.Observing the exhaustion clearly takin
RECRUITING
The oppressive aura that emanated from the man made Thomas frown. Even Solomon and Davis could feel the pressure of it. After a brief moment, the man reined in the aura, and Davis seized the opportunity to speak."I can tell you want to use the pine needles for someone’s treatment," Davis said, his voice steady. "While they might offer a temporary surge of energy, they won’t help in the long run. They’ll only provide a short lived boost, doing more harm than good."The man looked at him, then shook his head. "You're wrong. I didn't buy them to treat anyone."Davis offered a slight smile. "Perhaps, if this were last week, I would be inclined to believe you. I sense something infiltrating your qi—it's a foreign energy, subtle but present."."It’s not harming you yet, but it’s slowly creeping in. Noticing the inactiveness of the energy, it made me realize the aura is just attached to you but it was gotten from someone who is sick. Perhaps someone very close to you who you are with almost
AN EASY TARGET
The auction finally commenced as the stunning host gracefully stepped onto the stage, capturing the attention of the room with her poise and presence.Davis leaned in, his voice a low murmur as he spoke to Solomon. "I have a feeling that Patriarch Morgan will try to interfere with our bids. What we need to do is bid on things we don't need in order to make him reach his limits. Watch carefully, and try to gauge his reactions. We need to know when to pull back, especially before the pine needles are revealed. By then, he should have already spent quite a bit."Solomon replied quietly, his confidence unwavering. "Young master, money isn't our concern. The Morgan family simply cannot compete with us."Davis gave him a firm pat on the shoulder. "I know, but money isn't being grown on a tree. There's no reason to waste it unnecessarily."In that moment, Solomon's respect for Davis grew even further. While many wealthy heirs would waste their wealth on frivolous things, Davis was different.
ENEMIES FORMING
Davis nodded, his mind still racing with questions as he tried to process the information in his mind. After a moment, he looked at Thomas and asked, "Please, can you tell me more about cultivation world?" Thomas frowned for a moment before saying, "The cultivation world is... vast and complex. It's not just about fighting or strength; it's about reaching a higher plane of existence, where the laws of reality are bent by sheer will and mastery of internal energy.""It’s about transforming yourself—your mind, your body, your spirit. That's why you see some cultivators do not care about physical wealth."Davis stared at him, trying to digest the words. "Internal energy?" he asked. "You mean like... magic?"Thomas shook his head. "Not magic. It's called Qi. Qi is the life force that flows through all living things. Cultivators learn to harness it, refine it, and guide it to enhance their abilities. With enough training, a cultivator can manipulate the very fabric of reality itself—cont
