When I opened my eyes, I was standing in the middle of a goblin village, surrounded by angry-looking goblins. My heart pounded in my chest as I took in my surroundings. The village was a chaotic mess of crude huts and makeshift buildings, with goblins running around in all directions. A large cauldron sat next to me, filled with bubbling green liquid. And dangling above it, I could see three people - two women and a man - who looked like they were about to be cooked alive.

My mind raced as I tried to come up with a plan. I looked down at my wrists, and the two symbols - one for heaven and one for earth - that were now branded onto my skin. With a deep breath, I focused my mind on my black katana and willed it to my hand. I felt a rush of energy coursing through my body, and I was holding it once again.

A commanding voice bellowed from one of the larger goblins near me, its guttural words unfamiliar to my ears. Thanks to Metatrons gifts, I understood its meaning: “Kill the intruder.”

Despite the chaos around me, my ADHD-enhanced senses allowed me to anticipate the imminent danger. I sensed the first strike coming from behind, a goblin sword aimed at my vulnerable back. Reacting with lightning-fast reflexes, I spun around and deflected the blade with my katana, the point facing down for a counter-attack.

As I swiftly pivoted, I executed a half-circle motion with my sword, bringing it down in a diagonal slash that cut through the goblin's neck like butter, killing it instantly. Although a shudder of revulsion briefly passed through me at the thought of taking a life, my rational mind reminded me that I was fighting for my own survival and that of the three strangers who were counting on me to protect them.

I scanned my surroundings for any further threats and saw three more goblins hurtling toward me from different directions. One charged straight ahead, while the other two flanked me. Knowing that I couldn't parry all three attacks simultaneously, I made a split-second decision and charged the goblin in front of me.

As I closed in on my target, I could see the surprise etched on its ugly little face as my sword sliced through its arm in one swift stroke. The force of my attack propelled the goblin backward, and it stumbled into the large cauldron filled with bubbling, viscous liquid. I kicked out hard, sending the cauldron tumbling over and spilling its contents over the goblins on the other side.

The boiling liquid splashed onto their skin, causing them to scream in agony as their flesh seared and bubbled. The acrid smell of burning flesh filled my nostrils, and I knew that I had to keep moving if I wanted to stay alive."

The other two goblins were about to catch up, and I knew I had to act fast. I couldn’t fully turn to meet them in time to parry aside both blades, but I had to find a way. With my side to them and my feet in an awkward position, the goblin swords came down. I met one sword with the flat of my katana, and to the other goblins' surprise, I used the hilt of my katana to parry the second. Irregular guarding was a nice little skill I picked up from my sensei back on earth.

Without missing a beat, I called out to my second katana, and it appeared in my hand just in time. I swung up with as much force as I could, turning and putting my full body into the slash, and cleaved the two goblins in twain. The sound of their bodies hitting the ground was drowned out by the agonizing screams of the remaining goblins, who were now being scalded by the boiling liquid that had spilled out of the cauldron.

As I turned from the two dead goblins, I sprinted towards the three people who were still tied up and dangling over the now overturned cauldron. I could feel the heat of the boiling liquid rising up towards us. With a swift motion, I slashed the ropes holding them, and they came crashing down onto the ground. The man and one of the women grabbed swords from the fallen goblins, while the other woman began to mutter under her breath, her palms held forward.

The goblins had formed a ring around us, and I counted 18 in total. Fear started to grip me, and I felt the weight of the situation settle heavily on my shoulders. However, the woman who was chanting pointed her hand, palm out, at the goblins in front of her. A ball of flames leapt from her to the goblin ring, growing bigger and bigger until it was about five feet in diameter. It hit the goblins in that area and exploded, sending a small shock wave and killing two of the goblins in the ring.

I marveled at the display of magic before my eyes, thinking to myself, "It seems there is strong magic in this world. I wonder if it will work for me?"

Desperate to defend ourselves, I started to visualize energy gathering in my palm, imagining a basic blue magical energy. Then I focused on the element I wanted, and air seemed to be the best for this case. I had always been good with wind magic, even in my home world. As I looked into my hand, I was surprised to see a small ball of wind already forming.

I put all my effort into willing this to happen, focusing on the form I wanted it to take. A slashing sword that could cut through the goblins in front of me. The energy leapt from my hand, thin strands of wind barely visible to the naked eye. As it made contact with the goblins, they were cut to shreds. My one spell killed five of the goblins in front of me, leaving ten remaining.

The female sorcerer spoke, and another couple of goblins went down. The man and the warrior woman leapt out into the remaining few goblins. Feeling more confident with my newfound power, I charged into battle alongside them, sending the energy of the sharp wind into my swords instead of at the enemy.

I took a deep breath, meeting the first goblin head-on. It was larger than the others, but it didn't matter. I sliced through its weapon, skin, and bone like a hot knife through butter. My blades danced through the air as I kept my momentum, moving from one goblin to the next. The man and warrior woman were just as ferocious, killing with abandon.

As we fought, I felt a power surging within me. The magic that had manifested earlier was growing stronger. With each swing of my blades, I could feel it building, waiting to be unleashed. And when I came across the leader of the goblins, the last one standing, I knew it was time to let it loose.

He tried to speak, but I didn't let him. I decapitated him before a word could leave his lips. And as I stood there, panting and covered in goblin blood, I looked around at the aftermath of our battle.

The bodies of the goblins lay strewn about, lifeless and still. The ground was coated in blood, burn marks from the magic fire scarring the earth in two places. The three who I had saved stared at me, a little wary but otherwise glad to be alive.

I felt a sense of pride and satisfaction wash over me. I had never been in a fight like that before, never used my magic in such a way. But now, I knew that I had the power to protect myself and those around me.

  • The End?

Pain. That was all I could feel. The drawback of Shishin, using one hundred percent of your muscle mass, was that your muscles would start to tear themselves apart. It was painful and possibly deadly. It was hard to breathe; I felt as if something heavy were on my chest. My entire body ached, and I had a raging migraine. Slowly, groggily, I opened my eyes. I didn’t recognize the opulent room that I was in. I looked down at my chest and saw Ellie sleeping across my body. I smiled and lifted my arm slowly, painfully, and patted her head.Ellie lifted her head, and a tear fell down her cheek as she mumbled in her sleep. I smiled and patted her again, saying, “Ellie, if you keep laying there, I am going to suffocate.” She smacked her lips and sat up. Her bleary eyes met mine, and she sat bolt upright. Her hand went to her mouth, and she started crying so hard. She threw her arms around me and hugged me tightly. I consoled her as a few tears came from my eyes as well. We hung on to each ot

  • The Demon King Sabnock

Tired. That is the only word that could describe me at this point. My companions and I had been fighting through an entire day and night against hordes of strong monsters, giants, a fallen angel, and finally culminating with that giant monstrosity of a gargoyle. I was tired. However, I would find no rest, not as long as this being, this Demon King, still drew breath. Sabnock stood there in front of his throne with a bored expression on his face, holding his ax in both hands. I stood, shoulder to shoulder with my companions. These three people, whom I have grown closer to than anyone from my old world, had become my family. But still, there was Sabnock, and here were my companions and I, stressed and tired. I remembered the only other time in my life that I had been this exhausted before.I could still hear my sensei yelling, “Is that really all of the resolve you have? Stand up, control yourself, and let that primal beast out. Roar and growl if you must, but you must control it and th

  • The Demon King's Castle

As we stepped through the shattered remains of the massive doors, we entered the entrance hall of the Demon King’s castle, a cavernous space that exuded both grandeur and menace. The walls, constructed from a glossy obsidian-like stone, rose high into the vaulted ceiling, lined with towering columns adorned with intricate carvings of twisted designs that seemed to writhe in the flickering torchlight. Dimly lit chandeliers hung from above, casting eerie shadows that danced along the polished black marble floor.Along the walls, doors of dark wood stood sentinel, leading off into various chambers. Some of these doors were ajar, offering tantalizing glimpses into rooms that might once have been opulent but now lay in ruin. A damaged library, its shelves overturned and books scattered, hinted at a once-vast repository of forbidden knowledge. A sitting room, its furnishings draped in tattered velvet, bore silent witness to gatherings long past. And a small dining room, its table set for a

  • The Beginning Of The End

Breathing heavily from our battles, we raced back to the army. Alvin created a small opening in the wall to peek through. The battle was over, and our army was victorious. He dropped the wall completely, revealing the scene to our comrades. Smiles spread across their faces as they saw the three dead giants and the last of the demon generals lying on the ground. An enormous cheer erupted from every soldier at the sight. Thousands of goblinoids lay dead on the battlefield, while we had suffered only minor casualties. The men and women were mostly tired, but every last one had a grim determination on their face, ready for what came next.“We have made miracles here!” I shouted to them all. “You have taken down an army of enhanced goblinoids with very few casualties, many times larger than our own! The giants that would have leveled our resistance lie dead at the hands of Ellie, Eve, and your Lord Alvin, and the final general of the Demon King lies dead at my feet. We can do this; we can

  • Valleys End

Alvin stood tall, facing the towering giant before him, gripping his golden sword with resolve. Encased within stone walls, his only escape lay in defeating the behemoth and rejoining Jordan and his wife, Eve. The giant bellowed, kicking furiously at the stone barrier, but it remained unmoved. It then turned a hateful glare towards Alvin. Undeterred, Alvin smirked, and the giant roared with renewed ferocity, charging at him with thunderous steps.Alvin sprinted forward, narrowly evading the giant’s massive swinging fist. With agility and precision, he circled around and slashed at the giant's Achilles tendon, bringing the colossus crashing down. Without hesitation, Alvin ran up the giant's back and plunged his sword deep into its neck, severing the spine in a swift, lethal strike. Withdrawing his blade, Alvin wiped it clean on the giant's tunic before releasing his section of the wall. The battle was over in mere minutes.Nearby, Eve faced her own giant. Hearing the commotion from Alv

  • The Valley of Death

As I stand here, only held in place by Ellie's comforting embrace, the haunting words of General William Sherman echo in my mind: “War is cruelty. There's no use trying to reform it, the crueler it is, the sooner it will be over.” Later on, the quote was often simplified to “War is Hell, the worse it is the shorter.” The truth of these words becomes painfully clear as I survey the desolation around me—the aftermath of my fire spell that engulfed an entire city. We arrived here with hope and righteousness, but after our first clash with the Demon King’s forces, and the loss of hundreds of soldiers, there's a somber heaviness in the air.Work immediately commenced to clear the valley of fallen rocks and boulders leading to Sabnock’s castle. I'm grateful for the soldiers' swift action as I lean on Ellie for support.“How are you feeling?” Ellie's eyes betray her worry and concern.I muster a weary smile. “I'll be okay,” I reassure her. “Just a bit tired. With some rest, I'll be ready to
