Harry placed the call immediately after he left the university, and although appointments were usually scheduled days in advance, the urgency on the other end was obvious, so they agreed to meet him immediately. Their desperation worked in his favor.

They arranged to meet at a construction site, though Harry couldn’t shake the idea that it might be a setup, maybe someone would jump him from behind a truck. Still, the likelihood was low. To be safe, he left his car at home and arrived by Taxiplus instead, a decision he didn’t regret in the slightest.

The ride took less than twenty minutes. When Harry stepped out, he immediately noticed all sorts of heavy-duty construction vehicles scattered around the lot. If these people were trying to prove they were legitimate, the display worked.

There were no buildings yet, nothing close to finished construction, just an RV parked right in the center like a command post.

Harry paused outside for a moment. Even the Taxiplus driver lingered l

Harry was genuinely caught off guard by Alicia’s gesture. It wasn’t something he’d expected from her, not because she wasn’t capable of it, but because he never assumed she’d mirror the same level of intensity he brought into things. He usually gave more than he received, emotionally and materially. This time, though, the scale tipped just enough to make him pause. It was a confirmation of sorts. Whatever this thing between them was, it was no longer casual. It had crossed into territory that demanded acknowledgment, even if neither of them said it out loud.Still, Harry wasn’t naïve.The conversation they’d had earlier, the one involving Melissa and Rhianon, lingered in his mind. Alicia hadn’t reacted the way most women would have. There was no screaming, no accusations, no dramatic exit. Instead, she’d absorbed it, processed it, and adjusted. That alone told him a lot.She wasn’t looking for exclusivity. She was looking for security. If she had truly wanted him all to herself, that

  • Chapter 112. The Confrontation

Harry had deliberately placed Alicia in a corner. It wasn’t accidental, and it wasn’t cruelty for cruelty’s sake. He wanted to see how she’d react when the rules were laid bare. An ultimatum always revealed more than sweet words ever could. If this was enough to scare her off, then good riddance. But deep down, he doubted it would be.Women like Alicia didn’t walk away easily, not when the lifestyle he provided ticked every box she secretly obsessed over. Money, access, influence. And yet, this wasn’t even about finances alone. This moment was meant to confirm something deeper. If she reacted emotionally, if jealousy slipped through the cracks, then it meant she was already attached to him in ways she hadn’t admitted out loud. The thought amused him.Not enough to soften his stance, though.Harry had no intention of bending himself into a shape that pleased her. If anything, the power imbalance leaned firmly in his favor. He wasn’t chasing her, she was orbiting him. And if she ever fo

  • Chapter 111. Getting Paid

The night finally wrapped itself up, and what a night it had been. The kind people talked about the next morning with hoarse voices and blurry memories. Mia handled the remainder of the chaos like someone born for it. She didn’t just survive the pressure, she thrived in it. Orders were followed, staff stayed sharp, problems were solved before they turned into disasters. She coordinated, adjusted, corrected, and adapted like she’d been doing this for years instead of hours. And the wild thing? She had no idea this was all part of Harry’s long-term plan.As far as Mia knew, she was simply doing what an assistant was supposed to do, covering gaps, managing people, stepping up where needed. She wasn’t aware that Harry intended for her to oversee the place permanently, that tonight was more of an audition than a favor. But ignorance was bliss, especially when the paychecks were generous. She didn’t complain. Not once. If anything, she questioned reality itself. The amount of money she was

  • Chapter 110. Nice Try, Wolf

Harry wasn’t the type to leave two women wandering around the city at this hour, not when the night had already bled past midnight and the streets had that dangerous hush that always spelled trouble. He knew what happened to people, especially women, who thought nothing bad could happen just because they were five minutes from home. Bad things didn’t wait for permission. They happened fast, they happened in an ugly pattern, and he refused to let that be their fate tonight.Honestly, he also needed the excuse to dip out of the club. The opening had been a success, more than a success, really. It was the kind of night business owners bragged about for years. He saw it, felt it, breathed it. And that was enough. Mia had proven she could run the place without Harry hovering over his shoulder. She was sharp, talented, and clearly thriving with responsibility. Harry trusted her with the club.Though Harry noticed that they were not as close as they used to be, he found out that she and Ch

  • Chapter 109. Taking Them Home

Harry realized he’d slipped into a messy situation, nothing he couldn’t wiggle out of, but still annoying enough to make him curse under his breath. Worst of all, he’d somehow lost track of Rhianon for a moment. One second she was in the booth with Melissa, the next she’d vanished.Meanwhile, Alicia was practically ready to drag him into a dark corner and tear his clothes off. She made it very clear she had zero interest in playing coy. She wanted him, right here, right now.Harry stepped away from her, wearing a slow, cocky smirk.“If I were that easy, everyone in this place would’ve had me by now,” he said.Alicia blinked like she was seeing a glitch in the simulation. A few weeks ago, the same man was ringing up groceries as a cashier. Now he was acting like the world revolved around him, and annoyingly, it worked. She wanted him even more. She smiled, but before she could loop her arms around him again, her group of friends returned with drinks. Harry let out a relieved exhale. Pe

  • Chapter 108. Keeping Them Apart II

The night rolled on without losing momentum, the speakers pounding and Rhianon holding the crowd together with the same fire she started with. She took breaks here and there, nobody could perform nonstop without their lungs giving up, and used the pauses to grab some food and rest her voice.Mia, meanwhile, proved exactly why Harry trusted her. The young lady worked like a machine behind the scenes. The moment Rhianon stepped offstage, she already had a backup act lined up. She’d prepared for situations like this days in advance. Every headliner had support acts on standby, and Mia took that job seriously.Harry’s vision for the club wasn’t just about music, parties, and revenue. He wanted this place to double as an unofficial scouting ground, a living, breathing talent pipeline. If an artist could captivate a crowd here, in this chaos, amidst alcohol and distractions, then they were worth keeping an eye on.Crowd control was the real test of artistry. Half the artists who sold out co
