Silence followed his words as they stared at him.Selah said nothing. She lowered her eyes, taking a long look at Xavier's lifeless body. Celvin turned away, his jaw tight. Rethar, however, continued staring directly at Thorin, his expression growing more troubled by the second.Thorin recognized the fear in their faces. He had seen it before, on the night they had surrounded their former master at Fallen Peak. They had all agreed to kill Thaddeus. They had all taken part in the attack, and whatever guilt they carried, none of them could claim innocence. But killing Xavier was different. He wasn't a former master accused of threatening the balance of the cultivation world. He was the First Master of Darkthorne, a respected figure whose disappearance would draw the attention of an entire sect.Rethar finally broke the silence." This isn't right! He's a First Master," he said. "What are we going to do when the elders find out? This could destroy the alliance between our two clans!""S

Thorin watched Xavier walk away. For a moment, he remained where he was, trying to convince himself that the conversation had ended in his favour. Xavier had heard the truth, but would stop bothering him with irritating questions. He was about to lay back when he remembered Xavier's last words and his expression changed.Xavier wasn't going to let this go. He had already examined the grave, discovered that the body buried there wasn't Thaddeus, and uncovered the elders' involvement in the betrayal. He had heard of Xavier as a honest and upright master and instantly known It would be only soon before he reveals it to the whole world.Throin could not bear to allow that to happen. He had spent years protecting the secret. He had endured suspicion, buried his guilt beneath excuses, and convinced himself that the decision at Fallen Peak had been necessary. Everything he had built since then depended on the world continuing to believe that Thaddeus was dead.If Xavier exposed the truth,

" Where is Thaddeus? I know you have the answer." Xavier asked again.Thorin's breathing grew heavier. He tried to maintain his composure, but the anger and hurt he had spent years burying were beginning to surface. The accusation was no longer merely an insult to his clan. It was an attack on everything he and the others had done to secure their future.Thorin stood abruptly, he could tell the first master wasn't lying and had made his findings before approaching him." Then perhaps you should ask the people who buried him. I was barely alive that night. You cannot expect me to remember every detail."He touched the scar on his face and let out a tired sigh."I nearly died trying to stop him. The others were in no better condition. If something was wrong with the body, how could you expect me to know?"Xavier remained silent.Thorin took his silence as an opportunity to continue."Besides, this happened years ago. Why are you bringing it up now? If you have doubts about the grave, in

Xavier clenched his jaw and walked faster. When he finally reached the training grounds, he found the vast expanse almost deserted. Moonlight spread across the sandy ground, illuminating the scattered training posts and casting long shadows of surrounding trees. He looked around and noticed someone was lying on the sand a short distance away, staring up at the sky.The man wore dark heavy warrior's armour. His chest rose and fell heavily, and one arm rested across his stomach as though he had come there to escape the world for a while.Xavier studied his eyes deeply.Even from a distance, he could see the weariness in them. They were the eyes of a warrior who had witnessed too many battles and carried memories he would rather forget.Xavier slowed his steps. He knew those eyes. He had encountered countless cultivators throughout his life, and his instincts had rarely failed him when judging another warrior. The man before him was no ordinary person. It was exactly who he came for, Th

Xavier didn't answer. He walked past them in heavy steps and with a grim expression.Disciples along the path hurried to bow as he passed, but their eyes followed him with unease. Some exchanged nervous glances, while others lowered their heads, afraid to ask what had happened."Why does he look like that?" one disciple whispered."Keep your voice down. Do you want him to hear you?""But look at his clothes. Those are sword marks!""Who could have forced the First Master into such a state?"The mumbling continued quietly as he passed.Xavier continued toward the inner grounds with a wait. His face remained cold, but the exhaustion in his eyes was difficult to hide.Even the senior disciples who usually greeted him confidently could only bow in silence. It was evident to anyone who saw him that whatever had happened beyond the Sect's walls, had not been an ordinary encounter.Xavier continued along the stone path lit by qi lanterns, barely acknowledging the disciples who bowed to him.

" No, that's impossible" he thought.Reincarnation was believed to be a sacred level of cultivation, unattainable by humans so he was sure Thorin won't think that. But he couldn't be too certain. He decided to offer another explanation and see how Thorin reacted." There's something I never told anyone. I used to have strange dreams when I was younger," he said, studying Thorin's reaction..Thorin's fingers stopped tapping."Dreams?""Yes. I would sometimes see myself fighting strange people with movement and techniques I couldn't explain. The movements were always clear, even though I couldn't understand where they came from." Thaddeus lowered his gaze briefly. "I stopped having them for a while, but they returned not long before my cultivation began to improve."Thorin straightened in his chair."What other kinds of dreams did you have?"" Sometimes I would see a man teaching me different techniques. Some were simple, while others were difficult to understand. When I wake, I would h
