Leonard looked around him, listening to the gasps, surprised faces and the new found respect on the eyes of the manager leading him on.

He saw the shock on Trisha's face. He smiled slightly and shook his head. But, his mind whirled around one thought; What if this was just a dream? What if it wasn't real?

Then, he might just wake up from it and laugh at the stupidity of it all.

"Is this the man?" A cheerful female voice chimed happily, jolting him out of his thoughts.

Leonard stared at the beautiful woman before him.She had a shapely figure, it was imp-thin, she was wasp waisted, clad up in a black suit. And her slender eyebrows shot up with delight.

"Yes ma'am, this is the client," the manager replied, looking at Leonard with a smile.

A wide smile crept up to her face.

"I am delighted to meet you," she said, stretching forth her hand for a handshake.

Leonard accepted her handshake, feeling her soft palm within his.

"Come with me, let's see what we can do for you. This way," she said, gesturing towards a hallway.

The director led him into an office, files stacked up in different places.

She sat down on a swivel and gestured to him to sit.

"So Mr?"

"Leonard," he replied nervously, his palms were sweaty.

" Ok. So what can we do, Mr Leonard?"

" I need to check the balance of this card," he said, handing the black card to her.

She took it with both her hands and nodded respectfully.

"Give me a minute."

The director typed in his name into her laptop and his profile and account balance popped up on the screen.

"Wow," she exclaimed, her eyes brightening up, making Leonard more nervous. "Quite a sum you have here."

"How much is it?" He was dying slowly with suspense.

"1 billion dollars," she replied.

Leonard collapsed on the chair. The amount kept ringing in his head '1 billion dollars.'

He had such a sum all these years and he still lived like a pauper.

The stranger wasn't lying to him. It was true, he truly belonged to the 'Dark Dragon' gang.

"Is everything okay, Mr Leonard?" She asked.

Leonard wiped his palms on his face.

" I,uh,I am just shocked."

The director smiled slightly, her cheeks hurting already.

Five minutes later.

Leonard leaned against the seat in the taxi, still surprised at what just happened.

The last few hours had been hectic; one minute, he was poor, the next minute, he was a billionaire!

He stared at the director's card in his hand.

He remembered her words before he left.

"Here's my card just in case, you might need my help someday. Our bank has invested in many industries in the city. We will be glad to offer our help to a distinguished client if they need it."

" Mister, we are here," the cab driver said, bringing him back to reality.

Leonard shook his head, holding it up in his palms.

"Where the hell have you been, Leonard?!" His superior barked behind him just after he got out.

Leonard turned around. He didn’t want to bother arguing with him.

He was back to take his stuff brought by his ex mother-in-law. He needed to check them and see if he could find any leads that can help him find his memory back.

But he couldn't find his stuff anymore. They were on the table before he left.

"I went out for business. Where's my bag?"

" You went out for business when it's not yet closing?! I threw your stingy bag outside and you're fired! " He barked at his face.

Leonard felt his anger rising inside of him already, he remembered seeing a familiar bag in the garbage can.

"Who gave the right to throw it out? That's my stuff and not yours so you have no right over it!"

" Oh really?" His superior said, raising a brow. "I am your superior so I have a right over you and whatever belongs to you. "

" You know what? I accept it. You don't have to fire me because I had already quit a few hours ago."

His superior had always treated him badly since he started working here all because he was jealous that Trisha was more beautiful than his wife.

Well, he was rich now so there was no need to work here anymore.

"I need my salary for this month."

The superior stared at him with a fierce look before bursting into laughter.

"Salary? What salary? I ain't paying you a dime, Leonard."

" You pathetic cuckold. I can't believe that a full grown man like you, can tolerate your wife having sex with other men under your nose."

" You had better watch your mouth or you will regret it!" Leonard yelled, staring at him with scary eyes.

His superior laughed out, his veins popping out of his neck.

"Make me regret? How can a lowlife like you with nothing to your name and a prostitute as a wife make me regret my words?" He raised up his brows. " Why don't you lick my shoes in return for your salary? I could reconsider."

"John, that's enough already!" Yelled one of Leonard's co-worker and friend, Keith.

John spun around to look at him.

"If you don't keep shut, you would get fired as well," he said to him with an intimidating tone.

"Keith," Leonard called out, calmly. "Don't worry I will handle this."

Leonard remembered what the director had told him about wanting to help.

'I guess this is the right time to ask for help,' he thought to himself, walking to a corner in the restaurant.

He called her and at the third ring she answered.

"Leonard speaking," he said.

"Oh! Mr Leonard. How're you doing? How can I help you?"

" I'm doing great. Was just wondering if you know about Cecilia's restaurant?"

" Of course I do. Cecilia's restaurant is one of our industries."

Leonard smiled widely, feeling his tensed nerves calming down already.

"Good! Can you fire John Kennedy?" He asked, referring to his superior.

"Sure, no problem,sir."

Leonard had a vicious smile on his face as he walked up to John.

"What are you still doing here?! I already told you that you're fired and if you want your salary, you know what to do. I might show you mercy after that, or you might end up sleeping on the streets to which you belong. Do as I say or you're fired! "

" You're also fired, John!" Came a loud, authoritative voice behind them.

  • Leonard:

  • Agnes’ Vow:

The corridor was dimly lit, a long stretch of polished marble that reflected the morning light peeking through ornate windows. Marcus Hades stood at the end of the hall, watching as the representative for the Australian family sipped from a crystal glass and looked through a painting on the wall. He moved with the kind of careless entitlement Marcus had seen far too often, men who thought money and foreign power gave them the right to anything. He approached silently, his shoes barely making a sound. "You spoke with my sister.” Marcus began, his voice low but firm. The man turned slowly, offering a measured smile. "We exchanged pleasantries. She’s quite charming." Marcus tilted his head, a polite mask concealing the fire behind his eyes. "Let’s make one thing clear: she’s not damaged goods. If your people think they can treat her like a problem to fix or hide, we’ll walk. This alliance ends." The man chuckled lightly, almost with pity. "It’s not your decision anymore, Mr. Hades.

  • The Family Dilemma:

The Hades estate was a portrait of perfection that morning. The dining room gleamed with deliberate elegance a long marble table stretched across the center, set with polished silverware, crystal glasses, and pristine white napkins folded into sharp triangles. Along the length of the table, tall vases held freshly cut orchids and pale roses, the subtle scent mingling with the aroma of baked pastries and imported coffee. The occasion was meant to be simple on the surface: a family breakfast. But the stakes were anything but. Close business allies were seated along the table. A minor politician's wife whispered to a tech CEO. A few lesser Hades cousins chattered softly, their eyes flicking toward the empty chairs at the head of the table. And then, with unhurried grace, Agnes Hades made her entrance. The room fell into a temporary hush. She wore a sleek, emerald-green gown with long sleeves and a modest slit that stopped just above the knee.
