Keith and Jacqueline were walking together to the office. Keith was trying to hide the fact that he was filled with rage at the moment and it was not going to be nice if he was to explode.

“I am sorry sir; I didn't know you would arrive here this early.” Jacqueline was still apologizing to Keith; he was not about to make sure that nothing would make Keith angry.

“I am not mad at you Jacquline; I know you didn't know that I would be here at any time now so there is no way you would have thought that there would be a fight and it would cost you an employee.” Keith was a bit serious; he was not sure that there was any explanation for what he had faced earlier.

“Marx was meant to be here; I don't know why he is not here and why he is absent.”

Keith was still angry that he didn't meet his guards there nor did he see his closest ally, Marx.

“Sir Marx would have been here but there were some unforeseen circumstances he needed to make sure that there would be nothing that would irritate you but then I didn't know you were almost here. I would have come right away.”

Jacqueline was scared of Keith and it was showing all over how he behaved, “I told you, it's fine. By the way, if you were here then it would have been hard for us to see the bug that just stopped working for you.”

Keith was not happy that he was embarrassed but he was relieved that the hotel won't have such a cruel person there anymore.

“So Marx is fixing up something, how long till he gets here?” Keith looked at Jacquline, they were heading to the largest suite in the hotel. It was only reserved for the highest-ranking men in the city.

“He told me that he would be here in three hours, I know you must be mad at him. I am sorry, I heard about your divorce. I am sorry about that,” Jacquline bowed his head to show how sorry he was to hear what had happened to Keith.

Keith was not even moved when he heard about the divorce talk, he was unmoved and it was a bit shocking for Jacquline. “I don't know if I was meant to be sad or angry that I am getting divorced but there is nothing that would even make me feel bad about it anymore. She has made her choice and I don't blame her.”

Keith was not going to let what Eleanor did to him ruin the way he was thinking or what he was meant to be doing. He had hoped that he would be able to be with her and let her rule by his side.

But he was wrong and she had other plans and his feelings were not meant to be seen. “It’s a good thing you are not letting it get to you. I know that you will be able to get through it like you always do.”

Jacquline was smiling, he knew that Keith would be able to come through whatever it was that was making him angry but Keith was not angry. Although he did feel betrayed there was nothing he could do.

“I am fine, I know you think it's a bad thing and I know it is. But I only felt betrayed I didn’t know she would even think of going to another man. I was with her for all the years I didn’t have my memory, and then when I recovered it in that ghastly accident I decided to call you all and let you know that I am alive I was going to make it a big ceremony to show her who I was and where I came from.” Keith’s hopes of ever making Eleanor his beloved forever were crushed and there was no way he would even want anything to do with her.

They got to the suite and Jacquline opened the door, everywhere was decorated like it was for a king. Keith walked in and looked around the room.

He was not impressed one bit but he chose to make sure he didn’t show that he was angry, ‘He is trying his best to see a smile on my face, it would hurt him if I was to make a gesture that I didn’t like the room.’

“What do you think lord Keith, it’s up to your taste right?” Jacquline was looking at Keith, he knew that Keith was not the easiest person to please, and if he should say that he loved the room then it would mean that he was doing the right thing for the first time in a while.

“Well, I am impressed that this sort of thing is in a place like this. You outdid yourself Jacquline, no wonder they made you the third richest person in this city.” Keith smiled, he was not going to make Jacqueline feel bad or anything like that.

“I am thrilled to hear that you actually like this room, I didn’t know what I was going to do if you said that you didn't like it one bit.” Jacquline had a smile on his face, he walked to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of wine.

“Don’t tell me that is what I think it is.” Keith had a smile on his face, he was happy to see the bottle.

“This is the only bottle in this town and I know you would want to take a sip of it.” Jacquline sounded happy when he was bringing the bottle of wine to Keith.

“You know how to make me smile, you thought of this?” Keith looked at Jacquline as he took the bottle from him and he was about to open it when the room door opened wide.

“Sorry I am late Lord Keith but I was trying to make sure you don’t run into any problem.” Marx walked in with a smile on his face.

“Marx, it is about time you got here.” Keith was opening the bottle of wine.

“Now, let’s talk about the matter at hand. Did you find out who planned my assassination?”

Keith was trying to get his head together before he would get to tell Noelle what he was going to be doing. He knew that there was no time for him to be hiding things from the woman he was going to be spending his life with, and he knew the damage it would do if he was not careful. He wasn't about to be playing games that would hurt her, and he wasn't about to spend his time trying to make up for something that wasn't meant to be there. He needed to know what he was about to do, walking straight to the room where Noelle had taken in the Phoenix Spring Hotel. He knocked on the door twice, trying to see if he would get her to respond. "Come in," she responded. Keith smiled as he opened the door, and he saw her standing by the window looking down, and the look on her face was a bit different from what he thought he was going to see. "Keith!" She sprang into his arms, and Keith didn’t waste time catching her. "You seem happy to see me, I didnt know you were expecting me like this." H

“So you’re telling me that returning to the Dragon Valley isn’t part of your plan yet?” Jacqueline was looking at Keith. He didn’t know what was going through his mind, knowing that he was trying to keep something from them, but then it was also not going to be easy for him to explain to them what he had on his mind. “It doesn’t look good, and we all know that Kylain isn’t going to let us rest until he makes sure that there is no way for us to come to the Dragon Valley and if he wants Lord Keith to come back home then you know he has something on his mind and he isn’t just going to let him walk away with it.” Marx knew that nothing was going to push back Kylain from trying to get them to be back where they wouldn’t have a choice but back down. Both of them knew how far it was going to get, and with the way things were heading, it was clear that one mistake would mean that they were going to lose their way. “So you’re saying that he’s one step ahead or that he doesn’t…” “He doesn’

Kylian was still agitated; he got the chance to make sure that he would take Keith down, but he didn’t even get the opportunity to. Filled with anger, Kylian couldn’t even think of his next move, knowing that Keith would be thinking of something to make sure that he would counter it and make his life a living hell. Scattering the table in front of him, he wasn't even sure what he was going to get out of doing everything he had tried. “All this bullshit is because that man is as slippery as slime!” He sat down, trying to put his head through what he had been doing and how the Dragon Vaelly was meant to be his. “His mere existence is now a problem for me; he has taken everything from me, and now he doesn't even want to die?” He couldn't wrap his head around the whole problem; it was unsettling for him. All the plotting only for Keith to do something to make him even think of trying to kill someone. “He is not even doing anything, that's the problem. He is only avoiding me, and I d

“What do you mean by that?” Marx was looking at Jacqueline; his stern look was different from what they would normally see. “Lord Keith isnt here and he is not going to be taking all this bullshit from them. We need to make sure that nothing is going to connect the whole thing to him.” Marx was not going to go for a news like that, he was not sure that there was a clear reason for them to think that there was a way for any of them to hurt Keith. “I told them, but they want him to come back to the Valley before Kylian even has the chance to reach there.” Jacqueline was even a bit more concerned about the whole thing than anyone else, but he was only acting that way to make sure that he would see Marx calm down a bit. “They don't know what is happening here, and yet they want him to come back to the Valley?” Marx was looking at Jacqueline, it was clear that nothing was going to be stopping the elders from the Valley from trying to make him come back. “Even if the world is ending h

I woke up to the sound of someone calling my name gently, I sprung up and took my axe ready to kill any zombie in the area. I didn’t know what was going on but I looked up to see Susan standing close to me. I was shocked to see her looking at me like that.“Is there anything wrong?” I asked her as I got up to my feet, I was trying to make sure that she was okay and nothing happened to make her look like she had seen a horror movie character.“No, I wanted to talk to you I could lie down anymore.” She said as she sat beside me, it was like she was trying to get a friend out of it all. I didn’t want it to look like I was not trying to talk to her.“Okay,” I shifted a bit for her to sit down and tell what it was that was bothering her. I didn’t know what it would be that was making her feel uneasy. She sat down and by the looks of things she was quiet, it seemed like something had happened to make her even think of coming close to me. I didn’t know what I was going to do if it was going

  • Chapter 297

It took me an hour to kill the zombies that covered the fourth floor, it was like they were weaker than the other zombies I had faced but it was not that. I had gotten stronger and I knew I was only going to get stronger than this if I was to keep moving.‘If I can go faster now, why don’t I go check out the office and know if I will find anyone still alive there.’ I was thinking of trying to go see if there were any survivors up on the seventh floor, knowing that I could move at speeds faster than what I would normally move at. It was going to be ideal for me to go check if I would see anyone there.I turned to the stairs and ran up, every corner leading upstairs was filled with zombies and there was no telling if there was going to be anyone still alive after all that had happened there.I got to the seventh floor and it was a mess, all the desks were turned upside down. I didn’t know what it was that would even make me think that there would be a survivor.“There is no one here, th
