Prince Khan slipped the pistol away like it was nothing, his face calm, almost bored. He looked around the room, his cold eyes making everyone uncomfortable.

“That,” he said, waving a hand at Harry’s lifeless body, “was just a little reminder for anyone who thinks they can step out of line.”

Then he turned to Ambrose with a cruel smile on his face.

“What about you, Ambrose?” Khan asked, his voice sharp.

“Got any questions? Or is the message clear enough for you now?”

Ambrose tried to speak, but all that came out was a shaky mess of words. The crowd stayed frozen, staring in shock, their faces pale as they took in what had just happened.

On the sidelines, Morgana leaned closer to Asher, her voice low but tense.

“This is too much,” she whispered, her eyes flicking nervously between the prince and the unsettled advisors.

“Killing someone here, like this, it’s reckless. And worse, it’s being done in your name. By an outsider.”

Asher’s smirk grew, a glint of amusement in his eyes. He did

A dagger at Eleanor’s throat, a gun to Justin’s head and soldiers ready for a fight.Suddenly, a gunshot went off, but this time, it wasn’t a warning shot in the air, it was clean, sharp, and aimed. And in that split second, heads turned around toward the sound, and eyes followed the smoke trail back to its source. At the same time, Solomon’s eyes widened in shock and a dark red stainspread across his chest. Before anyone could react, his dagger slipped from his grip and his massive frame staggered once before collapsing like a felled tree behind Eleanor. Then, a pool of dark blood quickly spread beneath him.Eleanor stood frozen and her face got pale as she looked down at the man who had a blade to her throat just seconds before. The entire room, including the soldiers, seemed to stop existing for a moment. Then, all eyes turned to the doorway. There, standing tall and calm, was Asher, with his arms sti

  • 078. One Wrong Move, Death Follows

As Morgana kept her gun pointed at Justin’s head, the tense silence in the boutique was shattered by the heavy doors flying open. And one by one, about twenty palace soldiers stormed inside with their boots echoing loudly against the marble floor.Their uniforms were unmistakable. They wore black uniforms with dark red trim, and gold badges shaped like a serpent wrapped around a flame pinned to their chests. Their boots gleamed and their swords hung at their hips, and each one had a dagger strapped to their knees. But among them, one man stood out. He was taller, broader, and more intimidating than the rest. His uniform was slightly different. Instead of the red trim, his was edged with a darker shade of maroon, and a wolf-shaped medallion hung around his neck as the mark of a high-ranking commander. This was Solomon. The head of the palace security. But now, he is just a man that has been assigned by the queen to her brother in order to protect him. The soldiers quickly spread out a

It turned out the voice belonged to Mr. Justin, the owner of the store and the self-proclaimed big man of Drakmont. He was in his early thirties, with a thick mustache sitting awkwardly above his lip and a belly that always looked like it was about to pop the buttons off his clothes. He loved to act like someone important as he was always walking around with a loud voice and bossy attitude, but honestly, it never quite fit him. It was like trying to squeeze a full-grown cow into a tiny shed. No matter how much he tried, it just didn’t work.As a matter of fact, the only real reason anyone in Drakmont tolerated his behavior was because his sister happened to be the ruler’s wife. That connection gave him a little clout around town. But everyone knew the truth, before his sister’s marriage, they both came from a dirt-poor background. It was one of those classic grass-to-grace stories, and ever since, Mr. Justin had been clinging hard to that small slice of influence his family tie gave h

  • 076. Not An Ordinary Store

As the gun pressed longer on her, the sales rep’s whole body felt like it wasn’t hers anymore. Her legs were weak, her throat were dry, and her mind was spinning faster than she could keep up with as the truth was starting to settle heavily in her chest that this wasn’t a prank nor a scare tactic. Her heart thumped wildly against her chest and her thoughts spiraled. “Wait… is this really happening? Am I about to die over… over this random woman?”She looked at Eleanor properly now, and to be honest, she still looked plain and there was nothing special about her. She still looked like one random person. So it dawned on her that no matter how ordinary Eleanor looked, for someone like Morgana to come in, cause a scene, and pull out a real gun all because of her… it could only mean one thing. Eleanor wasn’t just anybody. She was someone important. With this, she was confused and scared as her thoughts spiraled. Should I just kneel down and beg? But beg who? That nobody? but then, her hea

For a moment, it felt like everything froze as everyone was trying to understand what had just happened. Some people grabbed their chests while others ducked in fear. Did they really just hear a gunshot? In Drakmont, people always fought with swords, spears, but guns were things they only heard about in stories from travelers or faraway lands. No one ever thought they’d hear one here, and definitely not inside a fancy, high-class store like this.Even the ruler of Drakmont himself didn’t have a gun. For anyone to own one… that person had to be crazy powerful. The kind of person nobody in their right mind would cross. And now, as a bit of smoke rose toward the ceiling, everyone slowly turned to see where it came from, and there stood Morgana, with her hand raised, holding a pistol. It looked so out of place in this beautiful store filled with expensive clothes and shiny decorations. Even Eleanor, who was still on the floor, looked up with wide eyes as she couldn’t believe what she was

Morgana stepped out first, then she circled the car, and opened the door for Elenore.“Ma’am,” she said with a polite bow of her head.Elenore stepped down and adjusted her scarf nervously. She wasn’t used to this kind of attention, especially not arriving in a car marked by authority and power. As they headed toward the store’s glass doors, Mogana’s phone buzzed in her pocket. She glanced at the screen, and the name made her frown.“Ma’am, please head inside,” she said, “I’ll join you in a moment.
