Ch 08: Peeking

Patrick immediately shifted his gaze from his laptop to his cellphone, then sent a message to Ellie.

[Is the video footage real? How did you get it?]

Ellie immediately replied to the message one minute after it was sent. She explained it in detail through the voice note feature, making Patrick frown in disbelief when he heard it.

[Send me all the information about the young man in the video.]

Ellie replied. [Okay. Why do you want it? Do you also feel something strange about that man?]

Patrick only read it and didn't reply again. He refocused on the laptop screen and replayed the video of Leon fighting Uncle Xiao.

His current feelings were more or less the same as Ellie's when she first saw the video recording. Unfortunately, the video recording was very short. The video was cut off because the CCTV was damaged, making him very annoyed.

He was the captain of the Red Wolf special forces and had been trained since he was a teenager, both in martial arts and tactical matters. Several scars on his body were silent witnesses that he had experienced life-and-death situations in battle.

Seeing every movement and aura that Leon released, it was as if he was seeing a grandmaster. He also didn't know for sure whether this was just his feeling or the man was really a strong cultivator who was hiding his identity and strength. Because it was impossible for a martial arts practitioner to defeat a cultivator easily. Plus, Leon looked very young.

In the midst of his confusion, his cellphone notification sounded and showed an incoming message from Ellie. There was a document containing information about Leon.

Patrick opened it directly. After studying it for a moment, he had to accept that there was nothing special about the information. The information only contained Leon's personal data and his background as a priest from a village who wanted to live to experience the atmosphere of the city.

"Is this just my feeling?" Patrick wondered. He began to doubt his view. "But I've been through a lot of bloody battles and only a few people can evoke this kind of feeling."

"I think I have to send someone to spy on him. He's quite interesting. If it's true that he has that ability, it would be great if he joined the Red Wolf team."

Meanwhile, at 9:25 PM in the sky of Huston city, Bella's apartment.

Leon followed Bella into a modern-designed unit with two bedrooms, one living room, and a kitchen and bathroom. The apartment space wasn't too big and wasn't too small either. Enough for three to four people to live in it.

As a career woman living alone, Bella was forced to let Leon see the condition of the items in her apartment that were out of place. The apartment room wasn't that messy, it just wasn't pleasing to the eye for people who liked cleanliness. Clothes on the sofa, snacks on the living room table, and a little dry trash that was forgotten to be cleaned.

"Sorry, today I was in a hurry and didn't have time to clean up last night's mess," Bella said, smiling a little embarrassedly.

Leon was silent and smiled faintly. Again, he remembered his childhood, where Bella always scolded him fondly for often not cleaning up the room after playing.

Now, he could see Bella in her busy state, until she no longer had time to clean the house. The reality of adults can't be guessed. Sometimes they want to go back to childhood, just to feel freedom again. Nothing to regret, nothing to think about, and most importantly, he could still see the faces of his mother and father who he now missed so much.

"Ah, you haven't eaten yet, have you? It seems like there's still food in the refrigerator. Wait a minute, I'll cook it for you."

After taking off her shoes and changing into sandals, Bella hurried to the kitchen. She stopped for a moment when she saw several dirty dishes piling up on the kitchen set.

"Um... sorry. I even forgot to wash the dishes last night."

It felt a little uncomfortable if Leon had to see the scene in front of her. However, Leon just shook his head slightly, as if he found Bella's expression funny.

Some moments passed, Bella finished cooking. The aroma of the heated Smoked Brisket was still quite tempting as it passed Leon's nose. Plus, the barbecue sauce and boiled potatoes coated with butter and black pepper.

Bella then asked Leon to finish it, while she would go to the bathroom to clean herself.

Not even five minutes after Bella left, the food on the plate was gone. It tasted so good, it even made Leon burp contentedly.

Leon then looked around. Because he didn't know what to do next, he decided to clean up starting from the living room to the kitchen.

It didn't take long for Leon to clean it. He used telekinesis technique by exerting his mental energy, making things move on their own and even fly to the place where they were supposed to be.

After everything was finished, he sat cross-legged on the sofa and closed his eyes to meditate. As he meditated, he could hear clearly the ticking of the wall clock and even the sound of the faucet in the bathroom.

Leon suddenly activated his spiritual awareness, which led him to witness the entire condition of the apartment room. His spiritual awareness then unconsciously led to the bathroom, making him surprised by the scene there.

In the bathtub, Bella was soaking her body with soapy water. Leon could see her white and so smooth skin. Her wet, loose hair made her charm spread even more, which could be felt by Leon's original body.

Leon then swallowed with his eyes still closed. As a man, who wouldn't be tempted by something like that. However, Leon suddenly realized that what he was doing was wrong, so he immediately pulled his spiritual awareness back and opened his eyes slowly.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he immediately closed them tightly again with a sense of shame because he realized that the thing between his legs had hardened.

"Damn. I only peeked for a moment, why did it stiffen so quickly? Leon, you pervert," Leon muttered, clenching both his hands.

THUMP

At the same time, Leon suddenly widened his eyes. In one breath, his chest felt like it was hit by a hard object. His breath was choked, his heart was beating fast. And at that moment, his heart began to be covered by a reddish-black aura, which spread until it emanated from his body.

"Arggh. What is this? No. Not now," Leon muttered, holding his chest, feeling extraordinary pain. "Aararghh! No!"

Bella, who didn't know the situation outside, casually got out of the bathtub and immediately covered her slender body with a towel.

When she opened the bathroom door and came out of there, she looked ordinary. But after walking a few steps, she began looking for Leon, who was nowhere to be seen.

She walked to the living room while calling Leon's name. When she found Leon's body lying on the floor, she immediately smiled crookedly.

"Leon? Why are you sleeping there? Hey?" Bella asked, who hadn't realized the situation yet.

For a moment, she began to suspect something because Leon didn't react. If she was a cultivation practitioner, then they could see the reddish-black aura emanating from Leon's body. However, as an ordinary human, Bella didn't see it at all.

She immediately squatted down, intending to shake Leon's body so he would wake up. However, when she touched the man's skin, she spontaneously screamed and pulled her hand back, as if she had just touched a hot pan.

"Oh, shit. Leon?! Hey? Are you alright?" she exclaimed, starting to panic. "Hey? Leon! Wake up!"
