Xavier had booked out a small private section of the beach for just them, Amber, Emerald and even Martha. There were a handful of servers, and the soothing rhythm of water folding against the sand.

Amber sat cross-legged on a lounge chair, sipping coconut water through a straw while keeping one eye on Emerald, who was laughing as she ran barefoot across the sand, chasing the foam that washed in and out.

Martha sat beside her, her wrinkled face softening as she watched the little girl. “You know,” she said with a wistful smile, “I had forgotten how beautiful the world looks when you’re not staring at the same four walls.”

Xavier chuckled, flipping a shrimp on the small grill. “You make it sound like I was keeping you prisoner, Martha.”

Martha laughed. “Wasn’t that what you were doing? Locking me up in that fancy apartment like some hidden treasure?”

Amber smirked. “More like a secret weapon. You know how he gets paranoid about everyone’s safety.”

Xavier raised an eyebrow. “And I suppos

Inside Amber’s estate, the world was still until her phone buzzed violently on the bedside drawer.Amber stirred awake, glancing at the clock. 2:43 a.m.She groaned softly, snatching the phone and answering without checking. “Who is this?”A rushed, breathless voice came through. “It’s happening, Lady Amber! It’s Clarissa, she’s in labour!”Amber sat up immediately, the sleep vanishing from her tone. “What? How far along?”“She started contracting not long ago. We’re on our way to St. George’s. Matteo’s with her.”Amber didn’t waste another second. “I’ll be there soon.” She hung up, swung her legs off the bed, and reached for her robe.Moments later, the light in the hallway flicked on. Lisa appeared, wrapped in a shawl, rubbing her eyes. “Amber? What’s going on?”Amber was already slipping on her coat. “Clarissa. She’s in labour.”Lisa blinked, still groggy. “Clarissa? The one you told me about? Matteo’s wife?”Amber nodded, fastening her buttons quickly. “Yes. I need to be at the ho

  • Escape To London

Lisa stood by the window of Amber’s mansion in London, her gaze lost in the view. The last few days had been calm, a kind of peace she didn’t trust. Every time the silence grew too thick, she half expected Xavier’s voice to break through the phone, or worse, for Teacher’s shadow to reappear.Behind her, Emerald’s laughter broke the stillness. “Mum!” she called, spinning around the massive sitting room. “Can you believe this place?”Lisa smiled faintly and turned. Emerald, barefoot and wide-eyed, was circling the grand chandelier that hung from the ceiling. “I swear, this house is bigger than our whole street in Lagos. Mum, there’s a cinema, a pool, a gym, and...” she stopped mid-sentence, her eyes widening as she looked toward Amber. “And wait... there’s a painting of me here!”Amber, lounging on one of the velvet couches, laughed softly. “Yes, darling, I tend to decorate with familiar faces. Helps me remember who I am.”Emerald blinked, still in awe. “So… so this is really all yours

  • The Master's Fury

The echo of Teacher’s voice roared through the marble walls of the private resort, sharp and venomous. “Find her!” he barked, slamming his palm against the glass table. The sound reverberated like a gunshot. “I paid for top-class security, didn’t I? Cameras everywhere, guards at every damn corner, so tell me, how does a grown woman vanish into thin air?!”The manager of the resort trembled, sweat clinging to his temples despite the air conditioning that hummed faintly in the background. “Sir, we… we checked the CCTV footage,” he stuttered, his voice wobbling. “There was no sign of forced entry, no struggle, nothing.”Teacher’s hand shot up mid-sentence, silencing him instantly. “Don’t insult my intelligence,” he hissed. “You think I care about your excuses? I’m not paying you for stories, I’m paying you for results.”The guards stood in rigid silence, their heads bowed. No one dared breathe too loudly. Teacher’s rage was unpredictable. His eyes were cold, calculating, predatory. He ad

  • Storm Is Brewing

The door clicked shut. The lock’s sound echoed and then the room filled with a heavy quiet. Celeste lay on the bed, wrists tied, eyes sharp and calculating despite the bloodless color in her cheeks. Xavier and Antonio stood a few feet away from her.Celeste cleared her throat and let out a fake laugh. “Oh, this is rich. Is this a movie set? When did the two men who hated each other become friends? Did I miss the memo?”Antonio’s mouth twisted. “Friendship isn’t the word I’d use.”“Then what is it?” she asked, amusement strained into her voice. “A truce? A temporary alliance? You both look like you made a bargain at a funeral.”Xavier didn’t smile. He stepped closer. “We’re bonded by a common enemy. That’s all.”Celeste’s laugh turned brittle. “You mean Teacher. You think he’s the one pulling strings. You want him, then why use me? You should be after him directly."Antonio’s voice was clipped. “Because you’re the easiest way in. You know his routes. You know his people. You know his a

  • The Captive Queen

Celeste’s head throbbed like she’d been hit with a hammer. The sharp pain pulsed behind her eyes, spreading through her skull until it felt as if her brain was trying to claw its way out. Her tongue was dry and heavy, her throat raw like she’d swallowed sandpaper. When she tried to move, a cold shock ran through her spine, and her wrists and ankles refused to cooperate. Her eyelids fluttered open to the soft gleam of a chandelier above. The ceiling wasn’t familiar, neither were the silk sheets beneath her or the faint smell of vanilla and disinfectant in the air. This wasn’t the resort she’d been in earlier. This wasn’t her suite.Panic crawled up her chest. She jerked against the restraints, her breath quickening. Then she heard a deep, almost amused voice from across the room.“Need some water?”Her eyes darted toward the sound. The man leaned casually against the wall near the minibar, the same male stripper from the night before. Only now, he was dressed differently with no gliste

  • The Fall Of The Queen

The ocean breeze drifted through the open balcony doors of Celeste’s private suite, she sat in a silk robe, legs crossed, glass of champagne in hand, her laughter echoing faintly as soft music played in the background.“Teacher really outdid himself this time,” she muttered to herself, gazing at the wide stretch of blue. “A private resort, personal guards, and a weekend without chaos. Finally.”A knock at the door. Celeste didn’t bother asking who it was, her guards had already been instructed.“Come in.”The man who entered was tall, muscled, with a teasing smile and eyes that lingered a second too long. He wore a white shirt unbuttoned halfway, black pants hugging his frame.“You must be the entertainment,” Celeste said, her lips curling.“That depends,” the man replied smoothly. “Do you feel entertained yet?”She gave a throaty laugh. “Not yet. But you’re easy on the eyes.”He stepped closer, a bag in hand. “I was told you like surprises.”“Oh, I love surprises,” Celeste said, swir
