Chapter Five
Elijah stretched on the bed and yawned while trying to clean his eyes hoping that this was all a dream but a loud feminine voice confirmed that he wasn’t dreaming.“Arghhhhhhh! What are you pervert doing in the same bed with me naked !” The young lady on the bed shouted when she woke up from sleep.Elijah quickly lifted up the duvet and saw that his trousers were gone but his shirt was still intact. Elijah didn’t look at the girl's body out of respect but he still knew that she was naked under the bedsheets.Elijah’s head began to ache more because he was trying his best to remember how he got into the messed up situation but he couldn’t Rem her nothing and to make matters worse , the lady beside him on the bed was looking at him with a mean scowl.“What kind of question is that? I am not completely naked and I don’t know how I got myself in this situation so you should start explaining yourself!” Elijah shouted at the lady who looked clueless and helpless.“Is this some kind of setup or what? Is it a mistake, did I mistakenly go into a hotel room but I don’t even have money to pay so I won’t make that mistake even if I am drunk “ Elijah explained to the lady but the lady looked so frightened and scared that she didn’t talk for some few seconds.“No, no no. I need to get out of here. We both need to get out of here , no one should see us like this and you should never tell anyone about this, I don’t know who sent you but please don’t do this to me. I am innocent !” The young lady said frantically while trying to pack the bedsheets around her fragile body.Elijah also stood up from the bed while he kept looking around , trying to find his worn out jeans trousers and wear.“I don't even know from anywhere. Do you know what you’re talking about, Miss? I don’t even remember ordering for a room…” Elijah began to say but his words were cut short when the door of the room barged opened. The people coming in pushed the door so loudly that the cheap wooden door almost broke into pieces.Among the people that came in is a young lady who looks like the lady in the bed but she looks younger and has an evil scowl on her face, she also had her latest phone up and she was busy taking improper pictures of Elijah and the woman he woke up in bed with whose name is Selena.“Stop taking those pictures Nicki!” The lady shouted while trying to cover her body but it was all in vain because Nicki kept taking the pictures while having a wide grin on her face.“Why are you hiding your body Selena! We all know that you’re a prostitute that is always pretending to be holy. Well now your secret is out and grandfather is even here to see it with his own eyes so that it won’t be like we are setting you up” Nicki said with an evil voice which made Selena start crying with tears running down her face, she feels ashamed of herself .“Grandfather, come in and see your precious granddaughter busy tarnishing the image of the family with this nobody!” Nicki shouted and then the elderly man pushed open the door to the hotel room, he was struck by a sense of disorientation. The basic furnishings and the soft lighting were all familiar, but the sight that greeted him was entirely unexpected. His granddaughter, Selena, who is in her early twenties, stood in the center of the room, her hands frantically tugging at the hem of her torn dress. She was clearly flustered, and her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. Beside her, a young man stood with his back to the door, hastily pulling up his trousers.Grandfather Clinton, a powerful politician and former Head Of State of the Country . He was one of the powerful men close to the President which means he has influence and wealth but he looked so stunned at the sight before him.Grandfather Clinton who was surrounded by his huge bodyguards was momentarily stunned by the scene before him.Nicki came to his study early in the morning and told him that Selena sneaked out of the house at night and he had expected to find her alone and having fun with her friends. At least he had not expected to find her in a situation that makes her look like some low life woman. For a moment, he stood frozen in the doorway, unable to speak or move. Then, slowly, he stepped into the room, his eyes fixed on his granddaughter. She looked up at him, her expression a mixture of guilt and fear.Grandfather Clinton felt a wave of disappointment wash over him. He had always been proud of his granddaughter, with her poised demeanor and her impressive academic achievements. He had thought that she was above this sort of behavior, that she had more self-respect than to engage in reckless and impulsive acts."What is going on here Selen?" he demanded, his voice cold and stern. His granddaughter looked down at the floor, unable to meet his gaze. The young man beside her, meanwhile, looked up at the grandfather with a mixture of defiance and fear."Nothing happened and we were just...we were just leaving," Elijah stammered, his conscience telling him that this man is not someone to mess around with.Selena’s grandfather noticed with distaste that the young man's shirt was unbuttoned, revealing a glimpse of bare chest.Grandfather Clinton’s mind raced as he tried to make sense of the situation. He had always known that his granddaughter was capable of making her own decisions, of living her life on her own terms. But he had never expected her to be so reckless, to engage in such behavior without thinking of the consequences. He felt a sense of anger building within him, a simmering rage that threatened to boil over. He had worked hard all his life to build a reputation for himself and his family, to establish a legacy that would be remembered long after he was gone. And now, his granddaughter had thrown all of that away with a single act of foolishness."You have a lot of explaining to do," he said, his voice low and menacing. Elijah backed away from him, sensing the danger in the grandfather's tone. But the grandfather's attention was focused entirely on his granddaughter. He approached her slowly, his eyes fixed on her face."You know how important our family name is," he said, his voice shaking with emotion. "You know what it means to me, to all of us. And now...now you've gone and done this. You've tarnished everything we stand for."The granddaughter looked up at him, her eyes filling with tears. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I didn't mean to...I don’t know what’s going on here, I can’t remember anything ..."Grandfather Clinton shook his head, unable to find the words to express his disappointment. He had always hoped that his granddaughter would be a credit to the family, that she would carry on their legacy with pride and dignity. But now, he saw her in a different light, as a young woman who had thrown everything away for a few moments of passion. He turned away from her, unable to bear the sight of her any longer. "Get dressed," he said, his voice cold and distant. "We're leaving now and you young man, you must marry her "he said with finality.“Uhmm, I don’t know what’s going on here “ Elijah said looking confused and lost in the whole drama that he knows nothing about“As much as I hate this, you have to marry my daughter and become my son in-law because I can’t let this kind of scandal go out to the public” Grandfather Clinton said with so much authority which made Elijah gasped with shock

The rhythm of the ocean waves outside their beach house was soothing, but all Elijah could focus on was the warmth of Vanessa’s body pressed against his. The years had passed, but the fire between them never dimmed. Vanessa turned to him, her dark hair falling messily across her shoulders, her eyes heavy with desire.
