At first, Adolphus was reluctant but his mother nodded at him, signaling him to go ahead.

Because of his mother, Adolphus took the phone and placed it on his right ear.

“Who wants to speak with me.” He said in a low and cold and listened carefully to hear the voice of an elderly woman.

“Adolphus, my dear. My name is Sandra McAllen and you can call me your Nana.”

“And about your silly Dad, I beg you to forgive and listen to him. But it's fine if you're not ready to forgive him. However, you must know that I'm just finding out about you so I hope you don't hold any grudges against me.”

“I look forward to seeing you soon. Just take your time but you're not allowed to reject my gift. Take it and do whatever you wish with it. Bye for now.”

Without waiting for Adolphus to give a response, Sandra ended the call.

More than anything she really wanted to meet with her grandson but had to give it time. He'll surely run to her after receiving the gift she gave him.

After the call, he handed the phone to Nicolas. However, he was no longer frowning.

The voice of his grandmother had warmed up his heart. She sounded chatty and nice and he also could not wait to see her.

“Please, have a seat, Sir.” Adolphus suddenly warmed up to Nicolas and offered him a seat.

The trio sat down on the sofas at the place and for a moment, everywhere was silent.

The next minute, Nicolas handed a card to Adolphus. “The money in the account belongs to you. The account was opened in your name so you don't have to worry about any embarrassment from the bank.”

“Inside the account is all her life's savings of ten billion dollars. She wants you to have it all.” Nicolas told him and a loud gasp escaped his mouth as well as his mother's.

“It's… It’s too much, Sir. I don't think I can take it?” Adolphus retorted, returning the card but Nicolas refused to take it back.

“It's for you and remember what she told you. You're not allowed to refuse the gifts.”

Nicolas pushed the card back and also handed him some keys. “These are the keys to your new villa and all the cars you can ride. My assistant will reach out to you and take you guys there when you're ready. Everything you'll be needing is already waiting for you at the place.”

“And as for what you'll do after your graduation, you'll be in charge of McAllen corporation because you're my heir and I trust that you will do a great job.”

“I can already see the fire of greatness in you and I believe it won't be extinguished.” Nicolas added, smiling at him.

Adolphus returned the smile before they bade each other goodnight.

Doris quickly saw Nicolas off and went back to Adolphus who was obviously not in the mood to talk.

He left the things Nicolas gave to him on the table and went to his room, completely lost in his thoughts.

Just in one day, a lot of things have happened to him.

His father was so rich that they could easily give him a mighty sum of ten billion dollars to do whatever he wanted with the money. Unfortunately, he grew up in penury and was the errand boy of Boston University.

Why did Nicolas not show up all these years?

The next morning, Adolphus left their home without even informing his mother.

With the new address in his hand, he boarded a cab and was on his way to the place.

When they got there, he briefly admired the villa from a distance before they drove off to school.

Just at the school gate, Adolphus was greeted by Richmond and his clique. His BMW almost ran into Adolphus who had just alighted from the cab.

Out of impulse, Adolphus quickly stepped aside and yelled at the occupant of the car.

“Hey, watch where you're driving. Or are you so blind that you can't see your way?” Adolphus barked angrily while glaring at the car with his cold blue eyes.

He knew the owner and as expected, Richmond and Svetlana alighted from it while his friends, Vincent and Gabriel followed behind.

They walked up to him and as usual, Svetlana clung onto Richmond while he held her by the waist.

“Do you have a death wish, Adolphus? I can see that you've not learned your lessons from what happened last night.”

“Wait, why are you already free? You should still be in jail.” Richmond blurted out while glaring at Adolphus who didn't give him a response.

His gaze was on Svetlana and he could feel his heart still breaking from her betrayal.

Svetlana was now hanging out with the big boys in school but she was going to regret leaving him especially in the manner that she did.

“Are you happy with him or is it just about the money?” Adolphus could not help but mutter the question to her and saw the smirk on her face.

“Both, Adolphus. I'm happy because Richmond is spending on me and giving me what you would never be able to give me in your lifetime.”

“I'm sure that you're just jealous of me and that your rival and very rich.” Svetlana mocked him and turned to Richmond. She reached for his lips and gave him an intense kiss that lasted for over a minute to make Adolphus more jealous.

He never got the chance to kiss Svetlana when they were together. In fact, it never looked like they even dated.

Svetlana just used him for school work.

After pulling out from the kiss, Richmond stepped forward and stood before Adolphus, grinning mischievously.

He lifted his hand and reached for Adolphus's shoulder but he caught Richmond's hand mid-air and shoved it aside before giving him a punch on the face.

“This will be the last time you'll ever lay those dirty hands on me. I'll not let you bully me again.” Adolphus snorted, his cold blue eyes burning with rage.

Adolphus was going home from work days later when their car suddenly stopped. He was alone with Bradley, and the path was lonely. Only a few cars drove by occasionally. He had worked so hard that day and decided to go home and rest. His mother would join him afterward. It was almost getting dark at that time, and their car suddenly stopped in the middle of nowhere. A place where they weren't sure of their safety. “I'll go and find out what happened to the car.” Bradley said to him and hurried down from the car to check it out. He noticed that the fault wasn't serious and began to fix it while Adolphus waited for him inside the car.The next minute, a black van pulled over before their car, and three men in black came down from the van. They were all dressed in black and covered their faces properly. One of them pointed a gun at Bradley, who was engrossed in what he was doing. He had to stand straight and raise his hands in surrender. The men were armed, so they must be careful.
