Louis' world came crashing down like heavy bricks down his head as emotions welled up through his eyes.
With those gaze interlocking into the one that he thought he once loved, the gravity of the hatred that stormed out from her gaze was enough to send him pushing back in his steps.
With his hands clenched tightly into a blow, a low sorrowful chuckle escaped from his lips as he forged ahead with those words that tore deep, right into the depths of his soul.
"Indeed I was a fool not to have seen all these signs. But I won't be a fool twice!" Louis ended barging through the door
Mocking laughter came from the crowd and everyone surrounding him as he walked by, their hate driven words only heightening his emotions.
And when he was out of the four walls of Jessica's betrayal, his lungs had been snapped out of all the air.
He sat on the bench, watching as the free flow of strangers walking through the street quickly dwindled.
Even though he wasn't a beggar, a few people dropped some money for him, thinking that he was one.
How pitiful that he could not get a good set of clothes because of some marriage that didn't even exist. Louis tongue tapped in awful sorrow as his heart tightened into his intestine.
The vibration from his phone came as a distraction to his pain. However, it renewed a fear that had been buried deep in him.
A quiver came running down his spine and sweat trickled down his face as one thought came flashing through his mind, repeatedly.
His rent had expired three months ago. He always assured the landlord that he was going to pay, he just needed to take care of Jessica's medical bills.
And now that he thinks about it, outrageous pregnancy cravings for a baby that wasn't even his.
His heart flustered. The pounding of it steadily increased in his ears. His grip wobbled as he brought out his cell phone from his pockets, assured that his landlord would have lost his patience.
Louis stared into the screen almost with both eyes closed. However, it wasn't his landlord. Though not what he expected, his heart could only pound faster against his chest.
'What if it's the loan agency.' Thought Louis.
He was just going to ignore the call until... Eventually, a flashing text came through. His eyes squeezed through once again, his hands in between his legs as he read the message.
"Mr. Louis. I have been trying to reach out to you. This is Miss Rose from the High Tower company and I am your personal assistant!
Your investment of seven years back paid off and currently you have the highest share of about eighty percent in the company and if you are willing, the current CEO is ready to sell off the company completely to you!" The message washed through Louis's skin like an ice bath.
It was hard to believe the sight that was before him. His eyes regularly rolling, in his failed attempts to see through, his supposed delusion.
However, the message that stared back with a joyful gaze was a complete negation to his thoughts, causing Louis's heart to flutter and his jaws to fall right open.
'Its... It's impossible!" The stutter that came running off from his mouth shook his body with multiple astonishment.
Memories from his past came running through his head like a running sea. His past before he met Jessica when he was the heir of the Hart family, one of the most powerful families in the world.
After the unfortunate death of his father, his step siblings hated him, wanting to do away with him.
However, Louis right as the true heir of the family and their inability to do nothing about it glared in their faces, every day that went by.
Until after a proper long term research, Louis had decided to invest his available shares to a small booming company known as the twin tower.
However, a week after the investment was all it took for everything to wash down. And as though the pain of having to lose such a large amount wasn't enough already, a summon of the family stakeholders, headed by Louis grandfather as brainwashed by his step-siblings, sent him exiled from the Hart family.
On the ground of mismanagement of funds and abuse of power, making him incapable of ruling such a large family.
Even though the money belonged to him. Heartbroken, Louis begins his low life with all ties cut to his previous life, except of course his phone.
Louis's assurance that he wasn't going to make another of such mistakes was futile as his best friend ran away with his investment and his investment on Jessica and his supposed child also wasted.
Louis continued to stare at the screen as a heavy load of emotions came raining down on him like hard bricks.
It was still difficult for him to believe the reality that was before him, a new wave of fresh air revolving around his head.
Louis wanted to scream. Scream that he was right all along. However, his words were stuck in his guts as his emotions continued to flood, prickling in his eyes.
Another ring of his phone brought this moment to an abrupt stop as Louis quickly raced for his phone.
It was another text message, stating the address that he could meet with this person.
Though multiple possibilities raced in his head. The possibilities of being scammed or something worse happening to him crept to the back of his mind
"What am I going to lose anyways. I'm broke and they won't be able to squeeze out anything from me.
And besides I have taken a mountain worth of risks over the years of my life. There is no essence of me chickening away now!" Louis thought aloud.
With the last money that he had on him, Louis got an Uber, the possibility of getting a cab at that time of the day almost close to impossible.
The cab driver had a face that was filled with scorn, his hate driven gaze boring through the skin of Louis.
He was already assured that Louis gave the air of a wretched man and could not give him any tips after dropping off.
His clothes weren't designer and he didn't even have an active cologne on. How pathetic. He looked like people who could barely order an Uber the driver thought.
His anger filtered down his spine into his gnashing teeths, the fury related to the acceleration of the car and Louis could feel his seat becoming uncomfortable.
He drove with a frown that tore across his face and brought out a liquor from his box, slowly sipping when he was clear of the check point.
Louis's eye's immediately bulged out from his sockets and a silent quiver ran down his throat.
"What do you think that you are doing?" Inquired Louis, his expression calm but his gaze boring deep through the man's back
"What does it look like I am doing? Giving you school lessons?" He shot back.
"You can't do that while you are driving. Putting that aside, it's against the law, you can also get the both of us in trouble!" He added.
However, a scowl from the man, and thick lines of irritation falling across his face was the response that Louis received.
The frown on his face deepened. "And why do you think that you can tell me what to do and what not to?
I should have known that you were a pitiful soul. Why can't I get a passenger that would give me tips instead of broke asses like you!" The driver shot back, increasing the car speed.
The AC went off, as Louis felt the hot breeze of the heat that ran through his body, getting his clothes all drenched with sweat.
"You aren't even worth that!" The driver added with the looks of a dark villain glued to his face.
Louis frowned, his blood gradually boiling over. Wasn't he paid for his Job already? He wanted to yank the man off from the driver seat, However, the police were the best people for the situation.
However, before he could get his cell phone from his pockets, a loud bang was heard, sending him flying off from his seat.
Louis could feel stabs of pain rolling off through every single part of his body and he could feel a thick liquid trekking down his head.
Louis' breath slowed and the last words that he heard was the resounding sound of an ambulance, echoing repeatedly in his hearings.
And the distress yells of a group of men, a weight on his arms trying to drag him off.
However, it was already too late as his consciousness had already crept away from him, draining him of the life that remained.

Everyone's attention shifted to the center of the hall. They gaped around as their heart panicked Who was going to be eliminated next? Who was going to win the game? Worst, what would happen to those who stood the test of time till the finals of the competition? Were they going to be compensated or left with nothing while they celebrated the victor? These questions were audible in their head. They couldn't find an answer as to what was going to happen next. “It's time for the results,” Chris shouted, acting like he had gone crazy. “If you stupid panel members have any ounce of respect left for me, you'd make it right and call me the winner,” He brushed past everyone and stood at the center of the hall, beating his chest with force “I made this game what it is today, very competitive. I deserve some credits for lasting long in this competition,”In a feat of rage, he forcefully grabbed a member of his secret league by the collar and dragged him to the center.“Look at all these peo

“It's all Raul's fault. I was afraid to tell you but I have gathered up courage to tell you the truth,” Jessica continued. She got very close to him and placed her left hand on his shoulder with a seductive eye staring right at him.“You know how I used to make you happy, how I made you feel like a man and brave enough to strive for success,” She placed her finger on her lips and winked at him “I can do that again. I can make you happy again. Let's both forget about what Raul destroyed and make peace again,”Louis gave her cold look, threatening her to remove her hand from his shoulder but she latched on like a seat back on an airplane.“Get your filthy hands off me before I do it myself and trust me, you are not going to like it,” Louis threatened.“Come on Louis,” She said, placing her right hand on his other shoulder like she wanted to embrace him. “Try to understand me, Raul is our enemy and we must join hands to eliminate….”A muscular guard picked up Jessica from her waist away
