Simon packed his things with a heavy heart. This apartment has been his home for almost five years.
Yes, they were married for five years, and he realized now that within those five years as a son-in-law of the Steele family, they never really cared for him.On top of all, he was insulted for being penniless and discriminated against for looking shabby all the time.Looking at the empty apartment one last time, Simon left.He still can't go back to his father's house, not until he commands him to go back. Until then, his real identity should be hidden, and he has no right to reveal himself for who he truly was.He will need to look for another apartment to stay in. But first, he needs money. He only had a few coins in his pocket, not enough to sustain himself.Simon took a cab going to one of the biggest banks in New York City, The Bank of New York.“Take me to the Bank of New York.”The cab driver’s eyebrows raised mockingly at Simon. But Simon didn’t mind the insulting smirk he had on his face since he’s used to insults and mocking. He’s been dealing with it for almost half of his life.He was able to get past the guards of the bank even though his clothes looked out of place since they were busy arguing with someone on the line. But the taller guard noticed him and called to stop Simon.“Hey! You! Stop right now!”When Simon looked back, one of the guards hurriedly get to him and grabbed one of his arms before he could even get to the manager's office. His brows frowned when the guard pulled him. “You are now allowed to enter this place, beggar.” The guard’s voice was loud enough to be heard by the people inside the bank. Some laughed mocking at him, some looked at him with disgust on their faces, and some even tried to distance themselves from him like he was contaminated with a contiguous disease.“Wait!” Simon tried to pull his arm away from the guard’s hold. But he only winced when the other guard suddenly appear beside him and grabbed his other arm. “I’m here to withdraw some money. I'm a client of this bank.” Simon tried to reason out.The mocking laugh only got louder. The guard’s stern look even got heavier.“You wish. Get out now or we are going to call the police.” The tallest guard threatened him.“What are you waiting for? Get the disgusted man out of here!”“I can’t believe you let the beggar in this bank. I thought this place was only for the wealthy!”''I can't stand to look at his clothes! It's so cheap.''Simon heard the complaints of the customers. He can’t help but feel a little bit of remorse for those people. They only care for the rich and discriminated against the poor. If they only knew how much money he deposited in this bank, he bet they would pay so much respect to him. Simon realized that money was all that matters to most people on the planet.“What is happening here?”All heads turned to the person who spoke. His voice was hoarse and commanding.A tall man with a bulging belly stood in front of them. He had eyeglasses on and his hair was about to go instinct.“We’re sorry about the mess. We are just escorting this person out, I think he’s lost. He entered the wrong building.” The smaller guard reasoned out. The manager is a strict person, he wants his employees to be efficient and responsible. The manager’s brows knotted together as they skimmed through Simon from head to his feet.“I’m sure I was not lost, and I am sure I entered the correct building. I’m here to withdraw some cash. If you will just unhand me so I can get my card.''Mr. Floyd turned to face the bank’s clients. “I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Rest assured that everything is under control.” He smiled. The Bank of New York was one of the wealthiest banks in the city. Incidents like this will surely taint their reputation. When the manager turned to look at Simon, his expression changed.“Take him out now. He’s scaring my clients.” The manager had a stern voice that made the guards push Simon. He waved his hand to dismiss Simon. With his strength, Simon was able to push one of the guards, making him free from his hold. The people gasped, shocked even. One of the guards pulled his gun from his holster and pointed it at Simon, who automatically raised both of his arms as a sign that he meant no harm.“Don’t move!”“Hey, I meant no harm, I just want to withdraw some cash. I am not some criminal or beggar who will cause trouble.” Simon pulled a card from his pocket and showed it to the manager. It was a black shiny card, with the initial letter L in the middle. It’s the Limitless VIP, a card given to those clients who deposited huge amounts of money. The manager was shocked upon seeing the card. It’s a card only given to the wealthiest people. The people can’t believe what they saw. A man that looks like a beggar was in possession of that card. But they only judge him more, thinking the card was a fraud, or it was stolen.Mr. Floyd snatched the card from Simon’s hand and examined if it was an imitation or not. He’s not convinced that Simon owned it. “Where did you get this? This is a limited VIP card given only to the wealthiest in the country. Where did you steal this? You will be jailed for stealing something so valuable.” The manager put on a disgusted look at Simon. “Call the police. Now!” He commanded one of the guards.“I can assure you that I did not steal this card. You can get my fingerprint if you want to verify my identity.” Simon raised his right hand, offering it to the manager.Mr. Floyd was reluctant, but if he refuses to let this man verify his identity and then it turns out he was really the owner of the cards, then it will be over for him.“I will let you scan your finger on the scanner, but once I’ll discover that you’re scamming us, I will make sure that you will rot in jail.”Floyd went to get the wireless fingerprint scanner. When he returned, he had in his hand the scanner. He doesn’t like being ordered around by a man like Simon, but he can’t risk his career.Simon put his finger on the scanner. The people who witnessed the drama waited. It took their breaths away while they waited for the scanner to the turned color red, in the hopes that the man was a fraud.Suddenly, the scanner bipped, and the color green blinked on the screen, confirming the identity of Simon. All the spectators gasped in shock. The manager’s mouth gaped open, and the guard who pointed his gun at Simon froze. It took a minute before the manager recovered from his undeniable shock. He immediately commanded the guard to put his gun down. “Hey! Put the gone down.”When Floyd turned to Simon, he already had a warm smile on his face. “Please, forgive us for the inconvenience, sir. We really regret it. Please, come to my office so we can talk properly and more privately.”Simon just shook his head in disappointment. If not for his fingerprint, all the people inside this bank wanted him behind bars even though he has not done anything to harm them. The manager repeatedly asked for an apology for what happened. He paid attention to Simon’s demand without hesitation and question. After Simon got the money he needed, he walked passed the clients who condemned him with his head held high.

The cause of his Betrayal
The rain fell hard against the concrete jungle of Manila, veiling its sins in a curtain of gray. Federico stood beneath a flickering streetlamp, his coat soaked and heavy, a suitcase clutched tightly in his hand. Inside were the documents, codes, and blueprints—everything the Chinese syndicate needed to cripple Simon’s empire. He loathed himself.“Mr. Yang’s expecting you,” a voice rasped from the shadows.Federico didn’t flinch. He followed the man through a back alley, past a metal door that groaned open, revealing a dim-lit warehouse. Men with cold eyes and heavier guns lined the walls. At the center, seated with a cigarette lazily dangling from his lips, was Mr. Yang.“You’re late,” Yang said in Mandarin, though his tone needed no translation.“I had to make sure no one followed,” Federico replied. “Do you want the files or not?”Yang chuckled. “Desperation suits you, Federico. Tell me again—why betray your Simon?”Federico’s jaw clenched. “Because you offered me fifty million dol
Federico's Secret
“Addison, you’re awake. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat or drink?” Federico was quick to intervene. He doesn’t want to witness drama, especially now that Addison was still recovering from the operation. Addison frowned at Federico, then she looked at Simon with questioning eyes. “What are you two talking about? Are you hiding something from me? It seems like Federico here was quick to change your topic.” Addison, although still weak, was able to raise her eyebrows at them, demanding answers. “Uh, no. We were just talking about a friend. You don’t know him, but if given the chance I will introduce him to you,” Simon smiled, kissed her forehead, and gave the baby to Addie. Addison was instantly lost when she saw he daughter. “Oh, I still can’t believe she’s my daughter, Simon. She’s so beautiful.” Addison chirped. “Of course, Addie. She; 's ours, it’s only fitting that she’s beautiful.” “Oh, my goodness. I’m out of hear. You know, I love little Dianne, and I love you both, but
Flowers from the Past
Months after their first wedding anniversary, Addison gave birth to a healthy baby girl. She looks more like Simon than Addison and all of them were so happy to have an additional member of the family. “Oh, goodness. She’s so beautiful. Did you already have a name?” Federico held the little angel in his arms. It was one of his dreams to have a family of his own and make children. But because of the nature of his work, he chose not to do it anyway. “Well, I suggested we call her Dianne. But Addie here likes Sophia. So, yeah, we will call her Sophia Dianne.” Simon grinned as he answered. Federico looked at Simon, his eyes watered as he continued carrying the baby. His heart warms as he looks at Simon. “You look so happy, Simon. It’s so good to see you having that kind smile plastered on your face.” Simon just shrugged his shoulders and turned to look at Addie who was still sleeping. She looked so exhausted but still very beautiful. “It’s all thanks to her,” Simon answered, his wa
A Happy Ever After for a Mafia Boss

Simon organized it himself with the help of his friend, Black Scar, one of Hong Kong’s notorious criminals. They got married the next day as Simon didn’t want to waste time. It was a very intimate wedding and only a few guests were invited to that sacred event. Simon even organized it without them noticing his activities. He was so good at hiding things. It was quite weird for Addison because Simon was really never vocal about how he feels about her. And suddenly he proposed! They are not even couples, or he didn’t even confess his love for her even once. Eve so, Addison said yes to his marriage proposal. Why would she decline him? She loves him as much as he loves her. And he had proven himself to her already so many times that Addison knew that what they had was something real and needs to be cherished. Addison couldn’t help but smile while she was checking her mak
186 - Unexpected Proposal
The ride going to the airport was long and heart-stopping. The driver did his very best to dodge the cars that were tailing them, but it was a futile attempt. The chase was rough, though those cars did nothing but chase them, it was still rough. “Damn those bastards. What do they want? They just chased us like it was fun for them.” Ryzen shook his head as he looked at the rearview mirror. The driver of the cab did a good job of keeping them at a distance. “Don’t mind them. We will arrive at the airport in less than five minutes now. Be ready. We need to run fast as soon as this cab stops at the entrance of the airport.” Simon instructed them what to do the moment they arrived. “What? Run? But what if these men have guns? I am sure they were the ones who visited us. Damn, these Chinese gangsters!” Silence took over as they sped their way in the street. The night was ripe, it was already ten in the evening, and the streets were packed with people. Addison keeps on looking at the

Fear began to envelop Addison’s chest. These armed men were looking for her and there was no way that she was going to go with them. Addison shook her head. “No. There’s no way I am going with those guys, Simon.” She took a step back, it was an act of self-preservation. Federico took a step forward in front of Addison. His hands were ready to draw guns that were hidden behind his jeans. He’s always prepared when a time like this arises. “I already talked to Black Scar, and I will talk to him again. You can’t just drag my girlfriend out of here.” Simon calmly suggests. His calm demeanor was much more scary than those men with high-powered guns. He smiled politely at those people. “I suggest that you go back now. I will call him to negotiate. Please, I don’t want any ruckus in here.” He said again, this time he was smiling. Addison swallowed an invisible lump from her throat. This was her fault. If she wasn’t so stubborn enough, this wouldn’t have happened. Now some Asian gangst
