James was scared to hell when the machine blinks red. Does it mean Anderson set him up? He is done for because Wendy is about to make his life a living hell. This is nothing but a revenge for her and Alex. The realization of what was about to happen to him hit like a ton of brick.
"What kind of customer are you? If you don't have money why shop?" the sales rep said, angry and pissed at James. From his looks James doesn't seem like he can even afford a single item from the store.
"Is it not the same James I know? He is a poor broke ass who can't even feed himself. Why attend to this measly beggar when you have the upper echelon of Drawsbury town in store." Wendy said with a joyful look at Alex.
"He is nothing but a delusional idiot who doesn't know his place. All his clothing isn't even worth $30 but he made a purchase of $250,000. Isn't that suspicious?" Alex mocked James as he remembered the damages James caused him from the hotel.
"He is just lusting for what he can't afford." A voice said from the crowd.
"This isn't a Beggars shopping mall. Why don't you take a piss and look at yourself in the mirror clown." Another voice added.
"What! A shitload like him doesn't deserve to be in the Expensive Quest but rather on the street begging."
James, who can't bear it anymore, wished earth could just swallow him right away. This time around the manager who had been watching from his computer monitor decided to check what was going on. He was tall and well stocked.
"What happening over there?" The manager said with his heavy voice which vibrated the clothing units arresting everyone's attention. Immediately Nancy and her partner noticed him and they started shivering and composed themselves.
"Sir. This customer wants to shop without a single dime to pay. His card declines after several trials and he appears suspicious." Nancy partner quickly briefed their boss on what happened.
While glancing at James, the manager requested for the machine.
"Beep. Beep. Beep." The machine sounded as the manager operated it. With each beep, James' heartbeats increased. He can't afford to be humiliated in front of all this crowd.
"Beep. Beep. Beep." The machine sounded simultaneously before blinking a red.
"Hahahahhah." Wendy laughed out loud
"I hope you can confirm it yourself that he is here for shoplifting." Wendy added without an ounce of emotion.
"Just yesterday he had to save for weeks to get you a dress and today he is shopping designer. What kind of devil undercover are you.. I'm sure you realize now that those magical fingers won't be working here." Alex said mockingly, adding more salt to James' wound.
"I bet he wasn't thinking that you will be here by this time." A voice said from behind.
The manager removed the card from the machine. He was familiar with the card and was quite sure only the extremely rich and well connected had such a card. Compounded by what had been said, the manager became suspicious of James.
"Where did you get this card from?" The Manger shouted at James while pointing the card to his direction.
"This card…it's mine. It was a gift fro…." James stammered and panicked.
"A what? No further investigation needed. A criminal deserves the law. Someone called security for me right now. How dare you say such a card is a gift." The manager said.
The security arrived in a jiffy and in a blink of an eye James was thrown out of the store. Even though James initially thought he owns the shopping mall, it all appears to be a fairytale which has come to an end. He can't just wait to be in his Ferrari and get out of the place.
When James turned around, he noticed that he was still being followed up by the crowd and the manager. The crowd wanted to see him thrown outside the main gate while James on the other quickly got up and ran fast to his Ferrari.
When Wendy and Alex arrived, the parking lot was full of expensive vehicles that they couldn't match as they had to park outside. Immediately they saw James running to the parking lot they became more suspicious and trailed behind him. The crowd who had stopped to notice the couple still following James decided to join them including the manager.
James quickly got to his Ferrari but due to unfamiliarity with the car, he continuously press the button till the car entered panic.
What the hell? The Ferrari is the most luxurious car in the lot. How could poor James afford this kind of car. Wendy and Alex were shocked to see James with the Ferrari keys. How could this be? This can't be true.
He was just a poor pizza deliverer yesterday. Where did the car suddenly come from? Even the clothes James wears are outdated, they are new and much better than the rags he was wearing yesterday. Meanwhile all these wouldn't matter right now as James is about to get himself into a bigger trouble with the Ferrari panicking out of control.
"Is he also trying to steal a Ferrari also?" A stranger's voice said from behind while James was battling with the Ferrari.
"Someone stop this guy right away," another voice added. This is another opportunity for Alex to make James' life a living hell. He quickly tracks forward and drags James out of the car.
"Ferrari is not a vehicle for a beggar. Where did you think you were? You can't steal a Ferrari on my watch." Alex shouted at James while pulling out of the car. Everyone left their mouths open while waiting for James' next action.
"Pa!" A hot slap landed on James face before he could stand up. It was Wendy!
James felt like a knife had pierced his heart. How could Wendy do this? What did he do to deserve this? All he did was to love her unconditionally but it appears she hated him, all this while he was nothing but a simp!
A thief was caught at The Expensive Quest! With a disgusted face James was a subject of mockery on Drawsbury's social app. In a blink of an eye, James was already trending. This time around the two security were had arrived and taken James.
"Wiu wiu wiu '' The police car siren sounded as James was being carried away to the station. Things turned out fast again James thought, a while ago he had thought he was the latest Wizz in Drawsbury town. Meanwhile the reality is that he is being whisked away as a thief. His life is nothing but a living hell. Series of thoughts ran through James' mind as he remained quiet in the police car.
Arriving at the station, James was taken to the counter where had to write his statement. His belongings were collected when James remembered that Anderson had given him a phone.
"Do you have a lawyer or anyone to call for help?" The police at the counter asked James. On the other hand, James was lost in his thoughts, remaining mute.
"Do you understand what I said?" The police shouted at James, jolting him out of his thoughts. This time around the officer was pointing the phone in James' direction. He collected the phone and immediately switched it on. The only logo on the phone was a designer R. James remembered seeing the same logo on his grandfather's phone too.
The phone rang a few times before hanging up "Beep, beep, beep"
"Seems no one is coming to your rescue. Your broke ass will be spending Christmas in jail" with a glaring look, the police officer shouted.
James remained mute as he keeps dialing Anderson line which was the only number saved on the phone. He was praying all the time for help. Someone should just answer the call.
After a few more trials and no response, the police officer took James to a section where his mugshot was captured. His details were immediately entered in the computer since he had never committed a crime before. His phone was collected with his other belongings and James was about to be dumped inside the cell.

"I've been expecting you."The apartment was a museum of engineering feats—a testament to Mr. Patel's life's work.
