Freya Mitchell stepped out of the car, frowning as she looked at Anthony.

"Anthony, what are you doing here?"

He had just divorced her, and now she was already riding in another man’s car.

Anthony glanced at Isaiah Harris, immediately realizing that this must be the so-called Mr. Harris Giselle had mentioned. A flicker of irritation passed through his gaze, his expression turning cold.

"I believe we’re already divorced, Miss Mitchell. Where I go and what I do is no longer your concern, is it?"

The distance and indifference in his voice made Freya’s heart tighten. Yet, she had no right to refute him. Biting her lip, she chose to remain silent.

"Fuck! So you’re that waste of space—Anthony Jones?"

Isaiah Harris scoffed, his face lighting up with a mixture of surprise and mocking amusement.

"Nice to finally meet you! I’m Isaiah Harris—Freya’s boyfriend."

Anthony barely spared him a glance before looking away, completely ignoring him.

Isaiah felt his pride take a hit. His expression darkened.

"Anthony Jones, you and Freya are already divorced. I’d advise you to give up any delusions of reconciliation!" He sneered, his voice dripping with condescension. "Did you hear that I could help Freya and the Mitchells secure a contract with Horizon Group, and now you’re here to cause trouble?"

"Heh…" Isaiah let out a derisive chuckle. "Well, let me tell you something—you can forget about it! The project director of Horizon Group is a close friend of mine. You stand no chance!"

His arrogance was palpable.

To him, Anthony was nothing more than a lowly ex-convict—a man who had no right to even dream of associating with Horizon Group.

Beside him, Freya’s expression gradually calmed. She looked at Anthony and said, "Anthony, this isn’t a place for you. You should leave."

Deep down, she was worried. If Horizon Group’s people found out about her past with Anthony, it would tarnish the Mitchell Family’s reputation.

Anthony’s lips curled into a smirk, his gaze turning icy.

"That’s amusing. If this isn’t a place for me, then no one here has any right to be."

Freya’s brows knitted together. "Anthony, please don’t make a scene. I know you must’ve overheard Giselle and followed me here, but you need to wake up. This is Horizon Group—a world you can’t even touch. There’s no need for you to embarrass yourself here over me. Why not part on good terms and leave behind some decent memories?"

Her words sent a sharp pain through Anthony’s heart.

So this was how lowly she saw him now.

Isaiah burst into laughter.

"Anthony, you’re nothing more than a pathetic clown! Get lost already! This isn’t a place for some criminal nobody like you."

Anthony’s brow furrowed slightly, his expression turning frigid.

But he still ignored Isaiah.

Instead, he looked straight at Freya and, in a measured voice, declared:

"Freya Mitchell, listen carefully—I didn’t come here for you."

"Horizon Group belongs to me. I am the boss here."

"What?!"

Isaiah’s jaw dropped in shock.

Then, as if he had just heard the most ridiculous thing in the world, he burst into laughter.

"Anthony, have you lost your damn mind? Did three years in prison fry your brain? Or did getting dumped hit you so hard that you started hallucinating?"

Freya’s brows furrowed slightly. "Anthony… if you’ve been mentally affected by all this, I can arrange for a doctor to check on you. But please, leave this place now."

The Anthony Jones she had known three years ago wasn’t like this.

So, she truly believed Isaiah’s words—that Anthony was mentally unstable after everything he had gone through.

Anthony, however, merely replied in a cold voice, "Miss Mitchell, whether you believe me or not no longer matters. Soon enough, you’ll see a very different me."

Isaiah laughed so hard that he clutched his stomach.

"This is hilarious! Do you seriously think you can pretend to be Horizon Group’s owner?"

He scoffed. He knew that Horizon Group’s CEO was a woman—Caroline Hill.

"Anthony, that’s enough!"

Freya’s expression darkened. She looked at him as if she no longer recognized the man before her.

Anthony let out a low chuckle, then glanced at Isaiah with a faint smirk.

"Miss Mitchell, your new man doesn’t seem all that impressive either. His bedroom performance is already failing—I’d suggest you find someone else while you’re still young. Otherwise, you might end up with no sex life at all."

"You bastard! What the fuck did you just say?!"

Anthony had hit a nerve.

Isaiah’s expression twisted in rage.

Anthony smirked. "Why are you so worked up? That was just a wild guess… Or did I actually hit the mark?"

Freya was momentarily stunned. It took her a second to process what Anthony had just implied.

Then, slowly, she turned to look at Isaiah Harris.

Isaiah immediately forced a smile, quickly defending himself. "Don’t listen to this lunatic! I’m perfectly healthy!"

Freya frowned, looking back at Anthony.

"Anthony, Mr. Harris and I are just friends—it’s not what you think."

Anthony’s gaze remained indifferent.

"Is that so?" he said flatly. "Whatever relationship you two have is none of my business. You don’t need to explain anything to me."

With that, he turned and walked into Horizon Group’s building, without looking back.

Freya bit her lip as she watched him disappear inside.

His coldness, his indifference—it cut through her like a blade.

She and Isaiah hadn’t confirmed their relationship yet. Nothing had happened between them.

But in the end, it didn’t matter.

A moment later, she forced herself to calm down.

A misunderstanding is just a misunderstanding.

Anthony and I… are from two different worlds now. Our paths will never cross again.

From now on, I will follow the path I have set for myself.

Isaiah, still fuming, muttered, "Freya, divorcing that bastard was the best decision you ever made."

He then turned to her, his voice dripping with false affection.

"From now on, we are family. Whatever you want, I will give you! I’ll be your strongest support!"

As he spoke, he reached for her waist, attempting to pull her close.

But Freya subtly moved aside, smiling slightly.

"Mr. Harris, there are too many people around. Let’s go inside."

Isaiah froze for a moment, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Too many people?

He glanced around.

His expression darkened for a split second before returning to normal.

Freya Mitchell, you better just be playing hard to get.

Because if you keep testing my patience… I might just take what I want.

Horizon Group’s CEO Office

Inside a spacious executive office, Anthony sat comfortably on a luxurious leather sofa.

Standing before him, Caroline Hill—the CEO of Horizon Group—bowed respectfully.

She was breathtaking.

Her delicate, heart-shaped face was adorned with exquisite features—eyes as bright as the stars, lips soft and alluring.

She was, without a doubt, as stunning as Freya Mitchell—if not more so.

Caroline gracefully placed a cup of tea before him.

"Master, please have some tea."

Anthony studied her for a moment, feeling slightly uneasy.

This woman’s beauty was mesmerizing.

And yet, what unsettled him more was the reality of what she had just said.

"Caroline… this massive Horizon Group… is really something that old man left for me?"

Caroline nodded.

"Yes, Master. We have all been waiting for your return—to take your rightful place as Chairman of Horizon Group."

Anthony let out a helpless chuckle.

"That old man… He really left me with a ridiculously oversized gift. I barely know what to do with it."

The heaving air over the four quarters suddenly sank. A darkened silhouette dragged itself out of the heights of the sky, like a deeper thread of night within the night, easing toward them. He touched down without a sound, yet his presence tore the silence around him. It was a tyranny that needed no words; with just an inch of ground underfoot, hearts clenched.“Holy Emperor!!”“The Holy Emperor is here!”“Lord Holy Emperor, a god forever…”“Lord Holy Emperor, mighty and unyielding!”“We can kill these Ardenians now…”“We must kill them…”The boiling shouts surged like oil set alight, raising the temperature of every throat at once.
