Laxus wiped the kitchen counter with anger and vigor.

“Argh!” he growled in annoyance.

This was the fifth time that Laxus was wiping the kitchen counter, and it was already as shiny as a diamond, but he still continued to wipe it clean as though it was the first time. Laxus had cleaned the entire kitchen sparkling clean all by himself without waiting for the restaurant cleaner to do it, and all because he was freaking upset.

“Damn it!” Laxus’s voice was louder and more painful this time around. The sound of his voice echoed all around the restaurant, as well as his pain and pain. Tears gathered in Laxus’s eyes, and before he could even realize it, they began to fall, and Laxus let them drop. As they dropped on the counter, he wiped them away with vigor and strength. At least now, he had something to actually wipe off the counter.

The restaurant closed up completely about an hour ago, and all the staff signed off nearly forty-five minutes ago. Even Mr. Henry himself had closed up and

After Drake stalked off, Laxus turned to leave. He still hadn’t forgotten his own pains, predicament and troubles. Also, he still hadn’t forgotten that the same Nessy had been drooling and gushing over his half-brother, but as he turned to walk away, he heard Nessy whimpering.Groaning internally and in frustration, Laxus turned and saw that Nessy was visibly shaking. Laxus would have thought that she was cold, after all the weather was chilly, but it was not enough to cause an adult to shiver, especially one like Nessy who wore a jacket as thick as his.“What are you doing here at this time of the night and with Drake?” Laxus’s voice was gruff and hostile, but instead of Nessy answering his question, she burst into tears.“Oh God, not tonight,” Laxus grumbled to himself. He had just finished shedding his own ocean of tears, and he was not about to watch someone else do theirs. Besides, one thing Laxus could not stand was watching a woman cry. It was one of his greatest weaknesses; on

As soon as they began to walk towards Laxus’s apartment, he began to regret his decision. A lot of things could go wrong; as if a lot of things were not already going wrong. They walked to Laxus’s apartment in silence. When they arrived at his front door some minutes later, their boots had already gathered some snow that was already beginning to fall.“We would have frozen out there waiting for a taxi,” Nessy said. She sounded like her old self; the Nessy Laxus knew.Laxus ignored her completely. He opened the door with his key and urged her to get into the house, but Nessy stood still without moving.""Come on, I am really not down for any attitude tonight. You agreed to spend the night at my apartment for your own safety, didn’t you?"" Laxus’s tone was harsh and visibly upset. He was also impatient, and he did not intend to hold out his door for long, because he would hate to invite the cold into his small apartment. Then it dawned on Laxus that, perhaps, Nessy had thought that he s

“Are you okay?” Nessy asked, shocked at Laxus’s reaction to her question.Laxus quickly got over his initial shock and he bent low and picked up the spoon that had fallen to the ground. He did not expect to be asked that question, considering the fact that he was going over and beyond to keep his identity as a Kinkaid private. First of all, this was the exact reason he did not want to have anyone in his space. Laxus deliberately did not make any friends since he moved down here, because he was trying to avoid situations like this, and if Nessy hadn’t been stranded, he would never have invited her to his apartment. Secondly, Laxus did not realize that he still had a pen from the family company with him. He guessed that was the only thing of the Kinkaid clan that he had with him. Recalling now, the Kinkaid Distillery company pen had always been in his pocket every single day right from the time he started using pen to write when he was a kid, so it was only natural that he would have ha

Laxus could not tell, and it troubled him greatly. He could not find sleep, and he could not stop thinking about it either. He earnestly wanted to find what employee of the Kinkaid company the person was, but Laxus knew that asking those questions might put him in the light of things, which he didn’t want. With only a few hours that he had spent alone with Nessy, he already knew that she was not just a chatty and merry-go-round kind of girl. She was also smart, and she would definitely figure out something. Also, tears had gathered in her eyes, and since Laxus could not stand a crying woman, he lad let the matter die.Still, Laxus wanted to know by every means possible. He could not guarantee that and Nessy would be on speaking terms now that he had helped her

It took Laxus some time to be able to get over his shock.“Excuse me sir, but that is a blatant lie!” Laxus said defensively. The recipe he had been using to make hamburgers that had been making customers troop into the restaurant was his grandmother’s secret recipe which Laxus had inherited from her when she died. Often times, when he was much younger, he usually spent time with his grandmother at the Kinkaid family mansion. What a lot of people didn’t know was that Laxus’s maternal grandmother was the head behind the Kinkaid Distillery company. She had inherited it from her father who didn’t live long enough to build the company to its peak, and out of love, had allowed her husband to be the face of the company while she stayed at home to take care of their two daughters, Laxus’s mother and her younger sister, while still brainstorming for the company. As the business grew and expanded over the years, what people didn’t know was that it was divided into two companies; the Kinkaid Di

“Who are you, and why would you ask me to get into your car just like that?” Laxus asked, his voice almost quivering in fear.He looked around, hoping to see passersby like him who could help him, but mysteriously, Laxus was the only one walking the pedestrian lane that morning, or maybe he had been the only one, but he didn’t realize it until now. Laxus had no idea who this person was or who had sent him, and he was already out here in the street long enough to know how dangerous and deadly it could be. When he was still under the wealth and protection of the Kinkaid family name, Laxus always moved with drivers and bodyguards, so he never knew how dangerous and cold the outside world was.“Don’t be stubborn,” the bodyguard warned sternly. He glared at Laxus, and Laxus feared for his life instantly. He was alone on this path, and it was still very early; if he proved stubborn, he could get killed right here and his body dumped without mercy. Laxus was going through so much, but the la

Luther sat on the dining table enjoying a sumptuous meal at the family mansion where he and Linne had been living in with his father, Darwin, since they got married.Luther already had his day planned out; after his meal, he would visit his game house and spend hours there playing chess with his group of friends, and afterwards, maybe rest by the poolside, and then visit the museum before the end of the day. He pretty much planned to do nothing today other than just having a nice time with himself and a bunch of friends who didn’t mind that he was a Kinkaid.Linne came downstairs shortly, dressed in an expensive floral dress. She saw Luther eating at the dining, his back turned to her, and she raised her nose in disgust. For the life of her, she could not understand why any man would just enjoy waking up every day and practically do nothing. Most days, they had to literally force Luther to go to the office, and Linne did not like that. She liked a man who was always up and doing, and

“…and it is worth billions…”Linne could not get those words out of her head. it was a good thing she stayed back and eavesdropped, because Darwin did not want her to know, just as he did not want her to know about most things that went on in the company, and Luther would never have said a word of it to her.“Bastards,” Linne said, grounding her teeth.Darwin left some minutes ago, and Luther also left almost immediately to only God knows where. He and his father had argued for some more minutes where Darwin was trying to get Luther to come to the office today so that they could join heads together and see what can be done about this new development, but Luther stubbornly objected.“I already have today scheduled for something else,” Luther had told his father.“You know I am doing all this for you. Come to the company and let us talk properly about this; I already asked the lawyer to come around as well. It will just be for a few hours, and you can go about your day from there,” Darw

  • Past Hurt and Grudge

“The Kinkaid Distillery Company has been thrown in disarray since the attack on their CEO, Mr. Darwin Kinkaid. As eyewitnesses would have it, his son, Luther Kinkaid, and daughter-in-law, Linnie Kinkaid, were seen fighting dirty right in his office for power and takeover. The Kinkaid Distillery Company has become a laughingstock now, and it is such a shame, because it used to be one of the biggest and most thriving distillery companies in the country. With all the drama going on in that family, we doubt that that company will ever get back on its feet. For now, they are under a temporary lockdown…”Laxus and Nessy listened to the news about the Kinkaid family and company in their living room, shaking their heads.Videos and pictures of Luther and Linnie fighting like kids in Darwin’s office were all over the internet, and now, with this news, they were going for doom already.“This is so tragic,” Nessy said sadly. “And to think that you used to be a member of that family,” she added,

“Don’t you dare come close to me!” Darwin yelled angrily at the nurse that was assigned to him.He had not slept since he woke up from the attack in the hospital, and as a result, he was having a banging headache. He could not stop thinking and worrying about things.Luther had been with him when he had gotten a call from his secretary and informed him about Linnie’s appearance, so he had hurried out of Darwin’s ward and straight to the company to stop her from whatever she might be planning to do. From that time until now, Luther wasn’t back and Darwin was dying from suspense. He had been struggling and fighting, but it had only made him end up in more pains and worsened his mood, so as soon the nurse came in to check up on Darwin and put back the sheet that had fallen off him as a result of his restlessness, Darwin had lashed out at her.She had scurried to the other side of the ward in fear, and she was the tenth nurse that was being assigned to Darwin in just a few days.“I am sor

  • Something For The Blogs

“Shit!” Linnie exclaimed in disgust and anger at the painful interruption that Luther just made and she wondered how he knew what she had been about to do, or that she was even at the company. “One of those freaking idiots must have tipped Luther off,” Linnie added. The pressmen and women were shaken a bit; why wouldn’t they be anyway? Luther looked like he would strangle someone to death with his appearance, but they soon recovered from their shock and fear.“You bitch!” Luther screamed angrily, his voice hitting the roof.“What are you doing here, honey?” Linnie asked in a sweet and romantic voice. She knew that the pressmen and women had their eyes and ears glued to what was happening, so she must act accordingly, even though she wanted to act as angry and disgusted as she felt. Didn’t she ask those security guards not to let anyone in? How incompetent could they be? She had specifically said no one should be let in, and they should know that it included Luther. If they had heeded

  • Press Release

Linnie carefully put the box out of the eyes of everyone else, so that when she was ready to leave, she would take it with her.“Make sure you take out anything and everything that looks like Darwin from this office; it belongs to me now,” Linnie ordered. She caught the shocked looks on their faces for a minute before they nodded and continued with what they were doing. Linnie smiled proudly; they might not be comfortable with her directives, but they had no choice but to comply. She was the boss now.Linnie could rarely wait for the press to arrive so that she would make that press release that would go viral in no time, and once it did, coupled with the fact that news of Darwin’s health conditions was already out there, things would go smoothly for her. Just as Nessy was not a threat to getting Laxus, so was it with Luther; he was not a threat to reigning over the Kinkaid Distillery Company.“Is there anything that you have that you want us to put in place of what we have removed?”

  • Eventually!

Linnie arrived at the Kinkaid Distillery Company with a triumphant smile on her face. She had already made some calls and in a few minutes, pressmen would arrive. She already had everything planned out and she could barely wait to execute them. She had been patient for years, and now, it was time to make do with the opportunity that the universe had presented to her.By the time she was done, she would have successfully taken over the company, and emerge even richer than what she had anticipated. She had seen the news about Laxus and his inheritance too. “He will be mine by the time I am done with Darwin and Luther,” Linnie vowed to herself. She still hadn’t given up on the reconciliation between she and Laxus. Even though he was now married to that wretch, Nessy, she could get him back.“If I could end up the victor after everything with Darwin and Luther, then I can end up being Laxus’s wife as well,” Linnie told herself as she took her time climbing up the stairs to the top floor.

If the pains would make him get back on his feet, he would gladly endure them, but now, he was not just suffering from pains, he was angered in his spirit.Luther had hurried to his father’s ward when he also got wind of the news.“You are nothing short of a failure and disappointment to me,” Darwin said through clenched teeth. As he looked at his son, Luther, he wanted to punish him gravely. Darwin had done everything possible to turn Luther into the son he wanted to be, but none of them worked, and now, as he glared at Luther, he felt as though he hated his own son.“Just look at the mess you have caused us!” Darwin barked some more. His words stung Luther deeply, and he could not find the guts to even face his fat
