Darren clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white as anger surged through him.

“What is this bastard doing here?” he muttered under his breath, his eyes fixed on the mansion ahead.

“Did he stalk Alicia to her house?”

His jaw tightened.

“I have really had enough of this nonsense,” he said quietly, his voice carrying a dangerous edge. “This ends now.”

Without hesitation, Darren began to walk toward the entrance. His steps were steady, but there was a clear storm building inside him.

His neat appearance was now slightly disordered, and his face was filled with urgency.Derek frowned immediately. “Barrister Johnson?” he said. “What is the meaning of this?”The lawyer bent slightly, trying to catch his breath.“Mr. Hilton… we do not have time,” he said quickly.Derek’s expression changed immediately as he looked at the lawyer. “What happened?” he asked. The lawyer looked straight at him and replied, “It is Darren.”Derek’s heart skipped. “What about him?” he demanded quickly. The lawyer swallowed before answering, “He has been captured… by the Whitmore family.”Derek’s face turned pale instantly. “What?” he asked sharply.“They are beating him severely,” the lawyer continued, his voice heavy. “He is in a very bad state.”Jeff steppe

Not long after the guard left, he returned. This time, he was not alone. An elderly man walked beside him. He was dressed in a simple but neat suit. His posture was straight, and his face carried a calm, serious expression.Joseph frowned immediately.“What do you want?” he asked impatiently. Before the elderly man could even speak—“Barrister Johnson?”Mr. Whitmore suddenly stood up from his seat. His eyes widened slightly in surprise. The old lawyer stopped and looked at him calmly. “Mr. Whitmore,” he said politely.Joseph turned quickly to his father. “You know him?” he asked.Mr. Whitmore let out a short breath. “Of course I know him. This man used to be my legal representative.”Joseph’s brows lifted slightly.Mr. Whitmore continued, “He is the greatest lawyer this country has ever seen. He had handled thousands of case but never lost even one.”Joseph looked at the old man again, this time more carefully. “But… he retired a few years ago. He has not handled any case since then

Mr. Whitmore looked at his son, puzzled. “But how do you plan to do it?”Joseph hardened his battered face. Even in his injured state, his eyes were filled with cruelty.“Leave that to me,” he said.Mr. Whitmore frowned slightly. “You are not in good condition,” he replied. “You need rest. You should recover first.”Joseph let out a cold laugh.“Recover?” he repeated. “How can I recover… when he is still breathing?”He pointed weakly toward Darren.“I will not feel better until I deal with him myself,” Joseph added, his voice dark.Mr. Whitmore stared at him for a moment. Then slowly, he nodded. “You are right,” he said. “A lesson must be made.”He took a sip of his wine.“The whole city must see what happens when anyone dares to touch the Whitmore family.”He paused, then added in a lower tone, “Just like I taught you… never let a man disrespect you and walk away.”Joseph’s lips curled into a dark grin.“Yes, father,” he said. His eyes shifted toward Darren.“Take him outside,” Josep

***Darren’s eyes opened halfway, then closed again. His head felt heavy. Pain throbbed at the back of his skull.“…Where am I?” he muttered weakly. The last thing he remembered before losing consciousness was that, he was thrown into a trunk of a car.He forced his eyes open again. This time, his vision became clearer. He was in a large, empty room. His hands were tied separately with thick ropes, stretched high above him. The ropes forced his arms apart, leaving his body suspended just enough that he had to stand on his feet to avoid pain.Darren frowned slightly as he tried to move. The ropes tightened instantly.“Tch…” he breathed. Then, a voice echoed in front of him.“So… you are finally awake.”Darren lifted his head slowly.A man sat in a chair not too far from him. His legs were crossed calmly, and he wore an expensive robe. His presence alone filled the room.Behind him stood the butler… and several men in black suits. About six of them. They were all watching quietly with

Mrs. Raymond kept glancing toward the hallway that led to the operating rooms, while Alicia clasped her hands together tightly, her mind filled with worry.Darren, on the other hand, sat calmly on the executive chair. His posture was relaxed, but his eyes occasionally moved toward the same hallway. Even though he looked composed, he was also waiting. Finally, the sound of approaching footsteps broke the silence. The old man returned. The moment Alicia saw him, she stood up quickly. “Sir! How is my father?” she upasked, her voice filled with anxiety.Mrs. Raymond also stood up immediately. “Please tell us… is he okay?” she added. The old man gave a small nod, and a gentle smile appeared on his face.“The surgery was successful,” he said calmly. For a brief moment, both women froze. Then relief washed over them instantly.“Thank God!” Mrs. Raymond exc

He suddenly moved forward, taking quick and urgent steps toward Darren.“Stop!” he shouted loudly, his voice echoing across the entire reception area. The police officers froze immediately and turned to him, confused.“Sir?” one of them said. “What is going on?”The old man glared at them, his expression filled with anger. “What do you think you are doing?” he demanded sharply. The officers exchanged glances.“But sir,” one of them replied carefully, “we received a report from a staff member here that this man is impersonating someone.”Before the old man could respond, the arrogant nurse quickly stepped forward again.“Yes, sir,” she said confidently. “It was me who called them.”She lifted her chin proudly.“I believe I deserve some recognition for this,” she added. “After all, I just helped catch a criminal—”Slap! Her words were cut short instantly as the old man’s hand shot out and struck her across the face. The sound was loud and sha
