The largest mall in the city was bright like daylight even though the sun outside had already begun to lower.

Lights hung from every corner, glowing in warm gold. Soft music filled the air, joining the steady hum of people walking, talking, and laughing.

The scent of new leather, new clothes, and new perfume floated around like a mix of gentle clouds.

Luis walked beside Leon, his steps slow, his eyes wide. It felt like the whole mall was moving around him.

Everything was big. Everything was expensive. Everything looked like it belonged to another world.

Leon had brought him here to buy clothes, shoes, and anything he needed for his new life.

The words “heir of Watford Incorporation” were still strange in Luis’s mind. He had not grown used to them yet. Each step he took made him feel a pressure he had never known.

The glass doors, the polished floor, the shining escalators, everything told him that his life had changed.

He kept replaying his old life in his head. Just a short time ago, he had been a shadow that nobody cared about. He had been spoken to with coldness.

He had been ignored. He had been seen as weak. Now people looked at him differently, and the change made him feel both excited and scared.

Leon walked with confidence, like someone who had lived in places like this his whole life. “Come on, sir,” he said with a bright smile that softened his strict face. “Let me help you pick something sharp. You deserve it.”

Something warm spread inside Luis at those words. It felt strange to hear someone say he deserved something good. He nodded slowly and allowed a small smile to touch his lips.

But before he could take more than a few steps, a sharp voice rose through the noise of the mall. “Well, well, well.”

The words carried a cruel tone that made Luis freeze. His heart dropped before he even turned.

He recognized the voice. He wished he did not. He turned around slowly. There they stood. Frederick, and beside him, Alexa.

Frederick looked tall, firm, and completely sure of himself. His clothes screamed money. Alexa held onto his arm like he was the most perfect thing she had ever touched.

Her face glowed with make-up and arrogance. Designer bags hung in her hands, filled with things she had probably bought just because she could.

Alexa’s eyes locked on Luis, and an ugly smile grew on her face. “I am surprised you even know the way to a mall,” she said loudly. “Are you sure you are not here to steal something?”

The words struck him hard. It felt like she had thrown stones at his chest. Luis took a slow breath, forcing his anger down. “I do not have time for this. Please, leave me alone,” he said gently.

Frederick tilted his head, amusement dancing in his eyes. “And what will you do if we do not?” he asked.

Before Luis could speak, Leon took a long step forward. His expression became sharp like a knife, and he stared directly at them. “Can someone please tell me what is happening here?” he asked, his voice deep and firm.

Alexa looked at Leon from head to toe. Disgust filled her eyes. “I knew it,” she said with a laugh that sounded like broken glass. “Luis still does not have money. So you needed someone to sponsor you, right? And this is your sponsor?” She gave Leon a long, bitter smirk.

Leon’s face turned cold. “Ma’am,” he said slowly, “I will not allow anyone to disrespect him. Please watch your words.”

Luis looked away from them, trying to breathe in the fresh smell of the store instead of their cruel voices.

That was when something soft and smooth caught his attention across the room. A collection of fine t-shirts were displayed neatly in a row.

Their designs were simple but beautiful. He touched one gently and felt the soft fabric. It felt rare. It felt special, but something was strange.

“Why do these shirts not have price tags?” Luis asked.

Leon frowned. “That is strange. Let us ask the person at the counter.”

They walked to the counter. A blonde woman sat there with a tired face. She typed on her computer, her fingers moving lazily.

Leon placed the shirt on the counter. “How much is this shirt?” he asked.

The woman did not even look up. “Ten thousand dollars,” she said without emotion.

Leon’s mouth opened slightly. Before he could say anything, another voice cut through the air.

“That is nice. I would like to pay for it.”

They turned. Frederick and Alexa stood behind them again. Frederick spoke with a proud smile. Alexa looked at Luis like she had already won a game he did not even know he was playing.

Leon’s hands curled into fists. “What is this nonsense?” he asked angrily. “He picked the shirt first. And you want to sell it to Frederick?”

Frederick’s smile faded. “Be careful how you say my name,” he warned in a slow voice.

The air felt heavier. Luis could feel anger and pride rising between the two men like sparks ready to burst into flames.

Luis stepped forward quickly. “Let us leave it to them,” he whispered to Leon. He did not want a fight. He did not want a scene.

But Leon shook his head hard. “No, sir,” he said. “That is disrespectful. You chose the shirt first. You are going to pay for it.”

Alexa laughed loudly. “When you say pay, do you mean him paying for himself? Or are you paying for him?” Her voice dripped with mockery.

Leon’s eyes narrowed until they were thin lines. “It is none of your business who pays for who,” he said. “All we want is the shirt.”

Frederick stepped closer. With a proud flourish, he pulled out a thick stack of cash. “I will pay triple for the shirt,” he said. “And triple for every item in that collection. Just do not sell them to these two.”

The blonde woman looked at the money. Then she looked at Frederick. Her eyes changed. She nodded slowly.

“I am sorry, sir,” she said to Leon and Luis. “But he is the highest bidder. We have to give him the shirt.”

Leon slammed his palm on the counter with a loud crack. “Are you out of your mind? Where is the manager? Bring him here now!”

The word manager made Luis’s eyes widen. A spark lit inside him. Something sharp, something new, something bold.

He pulled Leon aside. “Let him have the shirt,” Luis said quietly.

Leon stared at him in shock. “What? Giving him the shirt means showing weakness. We cannot allow that, sir.”

Luis leaned in and whispered, “Trust me. I have a plan.”

Leon hesitated. Confusion pushed across his face. But after a moment, he exhaled and nodded.

He picked up the shirt and tossed it toward Frederick.

Frederick’s face twisted in anger as he caught it. “Who are you to throw things at me?” he shouted.

Luis and Leon ignored him and walked away. When they were out of Frederick’s reach, Leon whispered harshly, “Sir… what plan?”

Luis gave a quiet smile. “You mentioned the manager,” he said. “So I thought… what if we buy this mall right now?”

Leon blinked. His eyes widened more and more. His mouth opened slowly. Then he smiled, a deep, excited smile. “I did not think of that,” he said. “But yes… we can try.”

He pulled out his phone and scrolled fast. When he found what he wanted, he dialed. His voice turned strong and official. “Send me the manager’s number immediately. My boss wants to buy this mall.”

The person on the other end agreed. Luis lifted an eyebrow. “Are you sure he will send it?”

Leon nodded. “Absolutely, sir. Just wait a moment.”

A few seconds passed. Leon’s phone vibrated. He opened it. His smile grew. “The number is here,” he said.

Luis took the phone, his expression calm but sharp. He could feel something changing inside him, something growing. Something stronger than fear. Something sharper than humiliation.

“Good,” he said softly. “Allow me to handle it.”

He dialed the number. The phone rang once. Twice. Three times. Someone answered.

Luis opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say a single word…A loud scream suddenly echoed across the mall.

People gasped. Shoppers began to run, and from behind them, Frederick shouted something that made both Luis and Leon spin around in shock.
