CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

Laughter filled the room as Lisa won the third game of chess.

"How on earth are you doing this?" Jason asked, eyes wide in bewilderment and confusion.

He was both impressed and confused by the skills of his secretary. This was a side of her that he'd never seen and he liked it. Almost a bit too much but also he felt just a tad silly for only being able to beat her once after bragging about how good he was to her.

*I'm just that good," Lisa shrugged playfully as she popped two peanuts into her mouth.

"Nah, there has to be something, you are cheating!"

Lisa couldn't help but laugh at her Boss's silly attempt to pin her wins on her cheating.

"Or you are just not as good as you thought you were.*

Lisa smiled. She had been smiling so hard through out the game, not because she was winning—evem though it was part of the reason— but because she was enjoying her time with Jason.

He was funny and helpful and his presence alone made her feel just a little bit less alone.

"Yeah, yeah whatever."
