Chapter 69: An Awkward Meal (1)

Rachel stared at the strange man sitting across from her. She would have thought he would have tried to strike up a conversation with her once the waitress left, but he hadn't looked up from the menu since she sat down. She found it hard to believe he wouldn't try to flirt with her. After all, it wouldn't be the first time it happened, even though she was disguised. It was her natural beauty.

The man made a strange noise, but she couldn't tell what happened with the menu in the way. She wondered what he had seen to make him sound like that. Staring at her own menu, she tried to see what could have drawn his attention. Nothing seemed to stand out. Well, it was none of her business what the man did, as long as she could eat her lunch in peace.

She had been craving seafood and had worked hard to ditch her security detail to get there. Just thinking about having to go through so much effort to get away from them in order to eat was so frustrating. Of course she was going to be in trouble
