Rise of the Rich and Powerful Jamie Ashford

Chapter 13

Those in the audience who were closer to the center of the attention gasped, surprised as they could see the phone that Jamie just pulled out of the pocket of his suit coat.

As for those who were standing farther away from Jamie, they couldn’t see the details of the phone, and yet, the lights from overhead shining down on the yacht were reflected by that phone.

“Wait, holy shit! Is the phone case made of diamond?!”

“Like, you see it too, right? I thought my eyes were deceiving or something! That phone cover is made of pure diamond! What phone is that?!”

Amanda jolted up from her seat in shock, her eyes glued to that hone in Jamie's hands as she whispered. “Ain't no way. Where did he get such an expensive phone?”

Seeing Amanda's reaction, Meghan and Olivia, seated at the same table, also glanced at each other before they involuntarily stood up to get a clear view of that phone.’

Everyone was glued to that phone, and its luxurious look didn't fail to pull attention from Nathan, Jonathan, Seth, Danny, and even Tyson.

“That's definitely not the phone Jamie was using before. Don't tell me he has upgraded?”

“This…..the phone, I don't think it's fake at all.”

“But that's impossible, what kind of phone is that?”

Suddenly, a middle-aged woman dressed in an exquisite gown walked out to Jamie. “Mr….um, Jamie, right? May I see that phone? I just wanna confirm if it's legit or not.”

Jamie glanced at the woman before he casually handed over the phone to this woman. “Go ahead, but hurry, I have a use for it.”

The woman skimmed over the design, her face brightening up as every second flew by. “It's real!”

She raised the phone to the audience. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is a true Falcon Supernova iPhone 16 Diamond Edition, worth $48.5 million!”

The crowd of audience couldn't help but whisper and murmur to each other.

As for Sonia's father, he turned to Tyson's parents. “Do you see that? This is why I have not cast that boy off this yacht and straight to prison. I don't know who he is, and I really cannot risk offending him if he turns out to be a member of the Arnold family.”

As much as Mr. & Mrs. Crook wanted to be mad, they knew better than to be impulsive. If that boy truly is an Arnold, then not only will they be saving their necks by keeping their mouths shut for now, but they'll also have to take their son to apologize to that young man.

Again, everyone here knew better than to offend a colossally powerful family like the Ashford family.

As for the middle-aged woman giving the crowd details about the phone, she wasn't done. “Not only is this phone worth $48.5 million, but the one I'm holding in my hand is actually a customized version that has yet to be released. Only the Ashford family has been able to get their hands on such a futuristic phone. Thus, its actual price is $79 million!”

The crowd gasped in great shock at this revelation. Some of them began wondering who this woman was and how she knew all these pieces of information that had been released to the public.

Those who knew her immediately confirmed that her husband was actually an authority figure within the company that made these phones. 

This piece of knowledge made it clear to everyone at this party that everything she said about this phone was legit.

At this point, nothing made sense to everyone witnessing the scene, especially to the Reynold brothers and their friends. 

Tyson, of course, wasn't about to concede to Jamie. Thus, he walked out to further antagonize Jamie. “Then that must mean one thing: the customized phone must belong to the real Ashford member who was supposed to be here.

He pointed at Jamie. “You bastard! You must have really kidnapped him, as the Reynold brothers have accused you!”

Jamie smirked with a slight look of disdain as he stared at Tyson. “Mr. Crook, you and your rabid dogs have been barking at me non-stop with accusations you actually have no proof to back up. I don't even feel the need to explain myself to you.”

Jamie had his fingerprint scanned, and it was unlocked, immediately dispelling the accusation that this phone wasn't his.

“No way!” Nathan couldn't help but exclaim in shock.

Jonathan pointed at the $79 million item in Jamie's hand. “Throat phone, it's really his!”

Susan and Stacy were simultaneously relieved, shocked, and confused by all this. Where did Joe get all these things? Is he truly a member of the Ashford family?!

Meanwhile, Jamie spoke without a glance. “Tyson, give me your account details. You threw $10,000 cash at me, to get me to leave this party, right? So I'm willing to take the higher ground here. Instead of throwing cash in your face, I'm willing to transfer $20,000 in return, as long as you can finally shut the fuck up.”

The crowd was excited by what was going on. There weren't a lot of people at this party who would boldly stand up to Tyson, not only because of his net worth and overall influence but also due to his powerful family background.

And here was this newcomer that no one knew anything about, giving Tyson a virtual slap in front of so many other guests.

Tyson was fuming, but before he could utter a word, a credit notification popped up on his phone screen, and truly, he found the $20,000 transferred to his bank account. “What the…. How the fuck did you get my bank account details?!”

Jamie shrugged nonchalantly. “I don't know. An anonymous number sent it to me.”

Tyson understood that someone in this crowd of guests must be messing with him. That hidden culprit wanted to see the humiliation come full circle.

At this point, the humiliation was getting to him, and it was starting to crack his wall of superiority into his insecurities.

The students of Hollywood University were stunned. Since when did the broke-ass boy become loaded? He was actually able to face off against Tyson with money.

Meanwhile, Tyson's parents demanded to know why Mr. Goodwin wouldn't just chase Jamie away.

Mr. Goodwin was respectful but firm. “You two have to understand me. I can't afford to offend that young man. Even if his identity has not been proven, look at the phone in his hands, and those bodyguards around him.”

Mr. Crook was starting to get angry.  “Then to hell with the speculations on identity. That arrogant young man messing with my son should only be allowed to stay here if he can prove that he was rightfully invited to this party!”

Mr. Goodwin saw no problem with this. Even if Jamie turned out to be a member of the Ashford family. He can be escorted off this yacht if he doesn't have the invitation card.
