Episode 12 : Tangled destiny

The journey back to Rainbow Core College is so silent and tense. Rex was behind the wheel.

It turns out that Gael and Emilio had gone back to take their car from where they abandoned it.

They got it repaired already. Laurel, Gael's mother had thanked Rex profusely.

She wished to ask Rex further about his source of wealth but time and schedule didn't permit her.

Rex had to relax and wake up early the next day for training. His Father, Louie gives him new hope.

He has to win the gold and do him more pride. He has suffered just to keep him safe for twenty-one long years.

Rex finally cruise into Rainbow Core College and stopped at the entrance of the male student resident hall.

They all alighted after some time and goes into their room. None of them speak, still.

Rex finally took his bath and dress up for bed. When he goes to lay down he found his friends waiting for him.

" What? " He asked them suspiciously when they kept staring at him.

" You went to Riley's mansion today " Emilio began. " How did it go? "

Rex kept mute for some time. His friends have already known half of the story. It will be unfair if he kept the truth away from them.

" Louie, the first son of Riley is my father " He dropped the bombshell and his two friends reacts to it.

They swallow hard at the ill fate and Tangled destiny.

" Khalil Karson is your cousin " Gael mutters at last. " How will you cope with this truth? "

" There is nothing to cope with about Gael " Rex replied with his shoulder shrugged. " Sharing the same blood doesn't make him my real cousin. We all know how Cruel Khalil has been to me "

They knew so no one replies to that. For some seconds, the three Friends only sat on their bed with their eyes darting around.

" Father wants me to stay away but I can't "

" It's unwise Rex. Your Dad knows what's at stake. Your life will be in danger " Gael advises.

" But I can't let the Evil wins. My father had been living poorly all these years. He wouldn't fight back because of me. Why can't I be his motivation to retaliate? "

" He loves you, Rex. He fears for your life " Emilio mutters softly. " I think you should listen to him "

" I can't let Karson have his way always. He stole my father's wealth. Once this whole competition is over I shall help him "

It has been said and sealed. The two friends know they can't convince Rex anymore.

They both finally agreed with his suggestion and soon goes to sleep after another light conversation.

The sunshine bath the room and slowly Rex fluttered open his eyes. He looks around lazily and groans as his body aches.

He saw Emilio already packing his books while Gael is nowhere to be seen.

" Morning, sleeping handsome. Get your ass down to the medical center for your drugs, will you? " Emilio said and Rex rolled his eyes.

" Sleeping handsome is lame "

" Not as you, yeah? " Emilio took his bag and headed towards the exit. " Got two classes "

" Where is Gael? "

" Out. He goes to his mother with the money you withdraw last night "

Yeah, the previous night after the system had started it's Usually Ticking Rex had paid for Autumn's treatment and the rest money he had withdrawn it.

" Yeah," He mutters in response before disappearing into the lavatory to take his bath.

When he returns Emilio had left already. Rex quickly dresses up for the medical center and also his sport.

He got no classes for the time being, not until the competition comes to an end.

Rex goes out to see Gael had taken his car. He didn't get the answer or have any negative thoughts, however.

Instead, he headed to the medical center on foot. When he got there he met the nurse who had attended to him.

" Rex Louie " Cassandra, the nurse greeted when she saw him. " I never thought you would come "

" I had to. For the drugs and instructions "

He responded gently. The nurse smiles rather nervously at him. Nurse Cassandra has also heard the heroic story of Rex Louie.

The ordinary errand boy who has risen towards supremacy. A penniless young man of yesterday who is now the Owner of the latest car in RCC.

" Sit back please " The nurse instructed as she picked up a syringe.

After some time she injected Rex and step back gently.

Rex noticed her fingers shivering but he didn't dwell on that too much. He knows everyone has heard his weird story.

How a young man of Twenty one could acquire wealth in just a little short of time.

" Take this pillbox, " The nurse said softly. She gave him some instructions on when to take it and finally, Rex left.

When he headed to the Juvenile hall, students he passes by stopped and stared at him.

The girls giggles and smiled seductively at him while the boys tried to befriend him.

However, Rex turns deaf ears to their advances. Emilio and Gael are his true friends.

They have been with him when the going is rough and bitter.

At last, Rex arrived at the Juvenile hall but he has to stop when he saw Khalil training with Pearl.

They both wear matching outfits and that pisses him off. He tried to shrug off but as usual, Khalil came taunting him.

" This isn't the right place for losers and brokers " Khalil mutters when Rex drew nearer.

" And who else is the loser if not you Khalil Karson? " Rex replied this time smoothly. " A guy who couldn't stand on his own two feet "

" You bitch! " Khalil came forward but Pearl was quick to pull him back, saying.

" That's enough Khalil. That's enough "

Rex watched with his eyes glaring at the two people.

Pearl succeeded in moving Khalil out, leaving Rex all alone in the hall.

The young man took his training kit and prepare to start his training when suddenly his eyes began to throb greatly.

Fatigue and exhaustion overwhelmed Rex so much and In no time he fell back and blood began to seep out through his ears.

It like a great shock to him. Never had he experienced anything like it. He tried and succeeded in dialing Emilio's contact.

The latter picked up after the second ring.

" Will you give me some space Rex? I'm in class and..."

" Hel...p... juvenile... hall " That was Rex's word before he passed out completely.

" Rex? Rex, are you there? Hey... Are you...oh shit! "

Emilio dashes out of his class and rushes towards the Juvenile hall. What he saw nearly stop his heartbeat when he got there.

He pulled out his cell phone and called Gael, telling him to return immediately.

" Rex? Oh my goodness! What the hell..."

Rex has been facing too much after knowing Khalil. The blood oozing out from his ears is enough to make his friends give up.

He was taken back to his room and Gael arrived after a while with sweat dripping from his forehead.

" He isn't breathing " He exclaimed in shock. " Let's call the nurse, Cassandra "
