Rising up of Loris: the Legendary Gunner

Chapter 1

A young man with a scowl on his forehead stared around, cold sweat pouring out relentlessly. A disappointed-sounding cheer pierced his chest. Again, the cheer was due to his failure to master the shot.

"Magic power level E 56%!" a loud voice sounded as if mocking. "Shooting score, missed the target," added the voice flatly.

The monitor voice of the person in charge of the test blared, announcing Loris' score to all the Famu citizens on the field.

That young man known as Loris, had once again received a disappointing shooting test score.

Although his magic level score far exceeded all the youngsters in the extended family, it all seemed in vain as every shot he fired from his trembling hand kept missing.

Loris endured the heartbeat that wouldn't stop thundering, the people around him loudly laughed.

"What the hell, still a loser showing off his stupidity!" chided one of the young man's youngest uncles.

The man lightly invited some of the other extended family to laugh at Loris's suffering for his enjoyment.

Not quite part of the extended family, many of the citizens in the town of Famu also laughed at Loris because of the incompetence of the young man who was once glorified in such a way.

"Watching this training for so long is sickening. Especially when watching that loser brandishing a gun with his deformed hand. How can he have level E? Rubbish!" scoffed one of the men with a loud voice and a fierce face, pointing at the young man.

The man's loud words naturally jolted Loris' heart, who still felt the vibration in his hand. He looked down with a lean face, and his mind immediately flew to the past, remembering his glory days.

The past where his hand had not been deformed. Everything seemed beautiful every day at that time. He thought his future would be bright with the many praises he had heard in the past because he had well-organized his future in such a way.

But now Loris itself felt very unfair, his other hand clenched tightly. "You guys are scum. I never asked you all to praise me so highly in the past!" the young man thought resentfully. But he immediately flexed his fist. Loris could not do anything and chose to accept the seal.

Of course, Loris was annoyed to death, they had all praised Loris so much in the past, and now they were excessively insulting and criticising him. Everything seemed unfair to him!

There was so much noise from the disgruntled audience that the word expulsion was uttered at Loris.

"That's it, get out of our way! It's been the same all year! Sickening!" The shout echoed and shook the whole pitch without anyone knowing who it was.

The situation around Loris calmed down instantly with the appearance of a second tester. Loris, who realised it, immediately raised his head to stare at the man.

He was one of the testers with a 75% F level. Leon Federico is the third genius of the Federico family.

"F level 75% with a shooting score of 8 rings!" The monitor's voice again boomed out Leon Federico's score aloud.

The noise was heard a second time. This time, they were cheering on Leon's greatness.

"That's it! The greatness of sir Leon Federico! Hurrah! It's amazing!" Shouted one of the voices that many spectators welcomed

Leon's genius made people reluctant around him, but it became his opposite trait. Leon always had Loris Federico as his target.

Leon instantly grinned at Loris, his gaze belittling the young man. He sighed and then looked away, "His abilities are still the same, lame." chided Leon coldly, which could be heard by everyone, including Loris, who was standing not far from him.

Although Leon had always targeted Loris in the past, now he was arrogant because he realised Loris was no longer his equal opponent. Loris was already beneath him and was pitiful. Even Leon's rude remarks did not make the people around them angry because of Loris' pathetic state.

"Here comes genius number three! There are rumours that his position will be higher or replace the eldest son Federico."

"That's right! I agree! I strongly support Sir Leon!" One of Leon's fans exclaimed happily and loudly.

The rumours began to spread, and Leon was happy to receive praise from everyone, including those who belittled his other siblings.

"There's no greater regret than ever boasting about that loser." Leon quipped before finally leaving without a word in Loris' presence.

In his heart, he was sick of looking at Loris. In his memory, that person was the one who could trigger him to become stronger every day. Leon used to consider Loris a blatant rival, but now he thinks the man behind him is so pathetic, let alone reprimanding him, that he is reluctant to even look at him for a long time.

"How can I consider a loser who can't hold a gun properly as a rival? Pathetic." Leon shook off the wind with his left hand and walked away. A dismissive smile appeared on his face.

But no one dared to criticise Leon Federico's haughty attitude because everyone was too blind to the young man's greatness.

A few minutes later, the last tester's call stunned many voices.

Their eyes focused on the last tester, who now held the first place in the Federico family. Even Leon was amazed by the arrival of the last tester.

She was Arturo Federico, a female genius who had been in second place but now took Loris' place, in first place.

Not only was she a genius, she was a gorgeous woman with long, wavy red hair down her back. Her eyes were round and bright green, with ideal curves. She was the envy of everyone in Famu.

Arturo didn't say much and immediately began her test without further ado, focusing her gaze ahead and shooting with her magic.

"Arturo Federico, magic level F 99%." A loud voice boomed, "Shooting score ten rings!"

Everyone who heard that was instantly amazed Arturo's score exceeded Leon's. The beautiful woman didn't just capture their hearts with her beauty and managed to be the genius in the number one position.

"She's great! I'm amazed." the same praise repeated from the mouths of the young men in Famu.

Even so, amidst the chaos of the audience's admiration for Arturo, many hissed comments about Arturo from the other side.

"I still can't believe she's in the position she's in now. I suspect she's manipulating Loris' situation for her benefit," whispered one voice amidst the hordes who despised Arturo Federico's existence.

Although the untrue rumours spread gradually, many still believed in Arturo. Even some judges in charge of the test looked at each other and nodded.

"I consider him very worthy. It's more than enough to be able to break through immediately at the E-class shooter level. How about you, sir?" asked the middle-aged woman dressed up in inches with a friendly smile.

The middle-aged man, one in charge, put his hands behind his waist. He looked at the woman calmly and nodded in agreement.

After finishing the test, Arturo walked towards Loris.

At the same time, Leon, with a smiling face, wanted to compliment Arturo, but the woman passed by Leon and simply ignored him.

She approached Loris and tapped him lightly on the shoulder. "Brother Loris!" she called in a soft voice.

Loris turned his head with a lean face and returned to his activities. "Don't call me that... I'm not worthy," he said in a sad voice. He did not look properly at the woman in front of him.

Arturo couldn't stand the gloom surrounding Loris. The woman instantly changed her expression to a very cheerful one and started patting Loris hard on the shoulder. "Brother! Keep your shoulders strong. You've been trying hard, and I see a lot of progress you're showing!" Arturo insisted on praising Loris.

Loris chose to remain silent and smiled bitterly. He was getting ready to head for the exit

Despite being ignored, Arturo still followed Loris' steps. He walked beside the man with a lean face. "I'm sure you'll return to being a genius. No effort betrays results." Arturo gave a slight push once again.

And Loris only returned it with a hesitant nod and a lifeless smile.

While behind the two of them, Leon felt burning with the fire of jealousy.
