Chapter 94

He leads her across the yard to one of the garage doors. “Come on. Let’s find your car.” He mutters. “I need to take you somewhere important.”

“Okay… where?” She asks curiously, following after him as they walk toward her truck.

His grip on her arms tightens momentarily, and she wonders what he must be thinking about. They make their way over to her black, shiny SUV and he helps her climb into the passenger seat.

He walks around to the driver' s side and slams the door shut before turning to stare at her for a second before starting the car and driving out of the driveway.

The streets are filled with traffic, which isn't unusual at this hour. It’s late afternoon and most people have stopped working to spend some time outdoors in the cold rain. She watches as the trees fly by through the windshield and she realizes that this must be how Daniel felt whenever he drove through these roads. That was the reason why he didn't speak much about himself. But maybe he never truly wanted to talk
