Chike’s breath came in controlled bursts, his vision scanning the smoking drone wreckage around them. The air still vibrated from the electromagnetic pulse he had unconsciously unleashed. He should’ve felt triumph but instead, he sensed a storm brewing behind Adaeze’s silence.

She wasn’t even looking at the destruction.

She was watching him.

A forgotten archive of Red Ledger’s oldest secrets, rumored to hold the original protocols of the organization’s global corruption network.Behind him, Seye adjusted the frequency scrambler on his wrist. “You know there’s no turning back after this, right? Only fire.In the back seat, Linda stared at the glowing interface across Chike’s pupils, wide eyed.“Your body shouldn’t be able to handle that much data, Chike,” she warned. “Even Tunde refused to use it.”Chike didn’t look at her. “He wasn’t desperate enough.”Beside him, Mezie groaned, still clutching his wounded side. “The girl’s last ping came from a bunker built beneath the old missionary compound. You’ve got maybe twenty minutes before they extract her.”Chike nodded. “Then we go through them.”Meanwhile – The Red Oracle’s CircleAdaeze stood in the center of a blood-red circle etched into the earth.
