A day later.

A young man with one bag full of silver coins and two strange pouches hanging at his right waist arrived at a gate without guards. Wearing light blue clothes, the young man who looked 17 years old with a sword at his left waist was none other than Ye Chen.

After a day's journey from Dayun city, Ye Chen went to the damaged Taoist temple and finally arrived here. Seeing the temple gate was open, and occasionally finding some sick people coming and going, he hoped that the circulating rumor was true.

Stepping through the gate, Ye Chen immediately found that this temple had a fairly large courtyard and several buildings damaged by age or due to some unexpected things.

Ye Chen also found ordinary humans in the courtyard, and on average these people were coming for treatment. The center of people coming and going was a building that looked better and larger than the others.

Walking there among the crowd of sick people, Ye Chen found a young man even younger than himself coming out from inside the house with a thin smile, and looking at the person who would be treated next.

But when the young man accidentally found Ye Chen's figure, his face changed, and he hurried to approach him.

Ye Chen himself also frowned and a bit of joy appeared when seeing the young man, because from his body, Ye Chen faintly found very thin aura fluctuations, even thinner than his aura. But still, this discovery proved that this place was unusual.

"Senior, is there something you need to ask?" The young man in white clothes immediately asked and gave a salute when arriving in front of Ye Chen.

When seeing the way of salutation and the call of "senior" given to him, Ye Chen finally became certain he went to the right place.

But he couldn't help but ask when hearing the young man's question in front of him, "Did you know I would come?"

"Of course not, senior," the young man answered quickly and added, "But senior is not the only one who came here to ask something of my master."

"Not the only one, does that mean there are others?" Ye Chen couldn't restrain himself anymore to ask again upon learning that he finally found people of his kind.

"Indeed there are, but senior, this is not the place to talk. If senior wants to ask further, I will take You to meet my Master."

Ye Chen nodded, and allowed the young man who had the name Yu Jiyun to lead past the treatment center, until finally they both arrived at a house that wasn't too large, but clean and well-maintained.

Entering inside, and sitting on the bench that was already there, Yu Jiyun began to serve some steamed bread and brew tea.

After finishing, Yu Jiyun said, "Master is practicing in the cave behind the temple, if senior wishes, I will call him, or if you are in a hurry, I can take you to meet him immediately."

"No need to hurry. After a long journey, I need to rest." Ye Chen answered and felt very pleased with the way the young man treated him.

Yu Jiyun nodded in understanding and said before leaving, "Then I won't disturb anymore and will immediately call master."

After Yu Jiyun left, Ye Chen looked around the room and found that there were many calligraphy writings hanging on the walls and some books that were Buddhist scriptures. In some corners he also found there was a photo with incense that had been used up, and there were writings and names written on the right and left sides.

"Jin Shang, ancestor of Taoling temple."

Reading the introduction, Ye Chen guessed that this young man who appeared to be 25 years old must be a very important person to Yu Jiyun. With incense and a board that seemed to be a place of offering and honor, the possibility was this Jin Shang had passed away or left the temple.

Besides that, Ye Chen also found a room that seemed to be a bedroom, and was certain that this was actually Yu Jiyun's residence.

"Dao Friend, have You been waiting long? Forgive this old one for not welcoming you personally."

Who knows how much time had passed, a warm voice from a man suddenly came from outside the door. Moments later a man around fifty years old, looking calm with a thin smile on his face appeared in Ye Chen's field of vision.

Looking at him briefly, Ye Chen guessed that this man was Yu Jiyun's master, but he didn't expect that the bald man with a yellow shawl and yellow robe attached to his body was actually a monk.

But Ye Chen couldn't underestimate him, and immediately gave a salute, "Nothing is long except ignorance for years. Senior doesn't need to apologize, I should be the one apologizing for coming suddenly."

The man smiled gently at Ye Chen's answer, and began to introduce himself, "Dao Friend doesn't need to call me senior. We are in the same world, just call this old one as Brother Guo Biyun."

In the martial arts world, strength is respected, and although this Guo Biyun had qi refinement second level Cultivation, one level higher than Ye Chen, they were still in the same qi refinement stage, so they were equal.

Ye Chen also knew a bit about martial arts rules and didn't refuse to begin introducing himself, "Ye Chen, Brother Guo Biyun can call me as brother, or little brother Chen."

Guo Biyun nodded and they both began to sit facing each other. Without waiting for Ye Chen to ask, Guo Biyun also immediately said, "If Brother Chen is looking for where Immortal beings are, you are in the right place."

"Does Brother Guo Biyun know?" Ye Chen immediately became excited when hearing those words.

Guo Biyun nodded and with a calm expression explained, "Brother Chen must be a rogue cultivator who unintentionally found fortune and finally could cultivate immortality. This old one won't question that, but Brother Chen must be a bit confused, why during your search for some time and even years you haven't seen other cultivators. Am I right?"

Ye Chen nodded seriously, and couldn't help but confirm Guo Biyun's guess. During this time, although he had tried searching, he had never found even one besides in Siqing village and Guo Biyun himself.

Ye Chen was confused about this, but surely there were some unwritten rules he didn't know, and Guo Biyun should know some since he started discussing them.

Guo Biyun indeed knew and spoke again, "Actually, there is indeed a rule from powerful cultivators that cultivators like us must not interfere with mortal human affairs. If cultivators like us interfered with mortal affairs, there would surely be chaos, and of course powerful people from certain sects or forces would move if they knew about it."

The sects and rules that Guo Biyun explained were truly new things for Ye Chen. He finally knew why it was so difficult to meet other Immortal beings during this time. He was also fortunate not to accept Wei Yanlu's offer to get involved in mortal world affairs, if not, it might have become a serious problem.

"If that's the case, shouldn't these rogue cultivators have to gather in a certain place so as not to disturb worldly affairs?" Ye Chen suddenly thought of something and asked.

Guo Biyun nodded while smiling, and wasn't stingy in explaining, "That's why Brother Chen arrived at the right place. Because besides brother Chen, there have already been several people who went to the place where immortal cultivators gather."

"There are several people, and there's such a place?" Ye Chen was surprised and immediately asked.

"Indeed there is, the name of that cultivation city is Blue Moon City. And all the people who have come here to ask over the last twenty years are estimated to already be there."

"Really?" Ye Chen couldn't contain his joy, and after seeing Guo Biyun's nod, he asked again, "Does that mean Brother Guo Biyun has a map of the immortal world?"

"Can you guess?" Guo Biyun answered while smiling mysteriously and his answer could already be ascertained.

With that certainty, Ye Chen almost wanted to jump and hug the old monk who smiled easily and was kind-hearted in front of him.

Finally, after almost one and a half years of searching and committing to foolishly seeking immortality, he had a definite path.

  • The real treasure

"What a treasure!" Recalling the benefits of Water Chalcedony alone—not only as the main ingredient for the Foundation Establishment Pill, but also for the Dust-Free Pill, a pill that could nourish and stabilize the soul—Ye Chen truly couldn't imagine what kind of treasure this lotus was. "Master Mu?" But beyond all that, Ye Chen couldn't help but think of the young tree from the past. Because to him, the strange seed that had now grown into a tree and created an independent space had to be the greatest treasure he had ever stumbled upon. Seeing the tree again after years of neglecting it, Ye Chen couldn't help but marvel at how it had developed. Indeed, its growth was still slow—even after all these years, it still stood only half a meter tall. But every branch, twig, and leaf had created a mysterious atmosphere more intricate than anything Ye Chen could fully comprehend. Though its shape was also beautiful, with a canopy full of leaves that resembled a mushroom cap, faint gold

  • The Heaven-Devouring Ant

Back at his dwelling on the Purple Bamboo Peak. With some free time on his hands, Ye Chen brought out everything he had recently obtained — including several storage pouches he had collected over time but never gotten around to examining. Among them were those belonging to Han Chengyang and the various Qi Refinement cultivators he had killed in the Crimson Secret Realm. One by one, he began emptying them all — and his eyes immediately lit up. Piles of spirit stones, pills, cultivation techniques, spiritual herbs, and magical treasures stacked up like a small hill before him. There were also several strange magical artifacts he couldn't immediately identify, though they numbered no more than five. Even so, Ye Chen couldn't suppress his smile as he began separating and sorting through all his spoils. Including the five thousand spirit stones he had started with, after separating everything out, Ye Chen estimated that the total combined value would exceed fifteen thousand spirit sto

  • The Void Origin Sword Technique

Ye Chen immediately picked up the plain white book — titled nothing more than "Void Origin Sword Technique" with no description — and examined it with undisguised curiosity. Lin Xinglan, watching him take it, also felt a trace of surprise. "The Void Origin Sword Technique. Even though it is an upper-intermediate sword technique, it is exceptionally difficult to master. Aside from the founder of the Young Bamboo Sect, it seems no one has ever successfully cultivated it." "I can see why," Ye Chen chuckled and said, "Even though this technique is very powerful, its requirements are quite rare. Not only does it require someone with five mutated elements, it also demands an enormous soul force. There's also the requirement of five special flying swords of specific types just to practice it. From that alone, it already seems impossible for virtually anyone." "And the description only has two sentences — 'all things return to origin, and from origin, the void is born.' Isn't that descrip

  • The Great Dao

"Senior Sister, I haven't had a chance to stabilize my cultivation yet, so it would be better if—" "Don't worry." Seeing Ye Chen trying to make his escape, Lin Xinglan immediately stopped him and looked at him with a playful smile. "I have several types of wine that can help stabilize your cultivation. Besides, after a year of seclusion, shouldn't you be greeting your senior sister?" "But, Senior Sister—" "No buts! Come on — take this wine jar and tell me everything that happened during your breakthrough." Feeling utterly helpless, Ye Chen could only smile sourly and sit with Lin Xinglan drinking while recounting what had happened during his breakthrough. Including the twenty-one Foundation Establishment Pills he had used, and the rather strange process of his breakthrough. When Lin Xinglan heard about the process, she also began furrowing her brow with uncertainty — even asking, "Was your process like the creation of water from clouds, raining down from above?" Ye Chen nodded

  • Breakthrough! Foundation Establishment

Truthfully, Ye Chen didn't understand or know what was actually happening — but he assumed he wasn't making a mistake in his breakthrough process. The churning storm, the flashes of lightning, and the rolling thunder were perhaps the process of condensing the qi clouds into true essence. Like rain falling from clouds and forming water that descends to earth. Perhaps the theory or process was the same as when rain fell — and the disappearance of the phenomenon was perhaps because the efficacy of the Foundation Establishment Pills he had consumed was still insufficient. For that reason, he immediately placed five pills at once into his mouth, hoping that all those phenomena were truly the process of transforming qi into essence. But after swallowing five pills at once, his entire body shuddered instantly — and sounds of explosions, rumbling, and buzzing rang out one after another in rapid succession, nearly overwhelming him entirely. With every phenomenon now far greater and more

  • Exile

Three months later. Ye Chen, feeling somewhat frustrated and helpless, finally breathed a small sigh of relief upon successfully returning to his previous cultivation level. But when he tried to examine himself, he was still surprised and helpless at the same time. "Truly." "I never imagined that after consuming the Five Elements Void Fruit, the capacity and consumption of spiritual energy in my dantian would now be double what it was before." "Even though that gives me strength many times greater than before, the amount of resources, time, and effort needed for cultivation in the future will also seemingly be many times more than before." "This development — should I call it a gain or a loss?" Feeling helpless, Ye Chen emerged from his quarters and went to find Lin Xinglan, who was drinking at her residence. Seeing Ye Chen's expression — somewhere between happy and troubled — Lin Xinglan appeared to have already guessed what had happened and simply laughed. But she didn't tr
