For a very brief moment, Akira's limbs froze. Before he could figure out what went wrong, he found his back against the ground which was shocking.

Since he woke up, he noticed he became unreasonably strong. But the boy pushed him down anyway. The boy was probably well versed in martial arts.

Punches rained down on Akira's face before he could defend himself.

“Wait, I didn't harm him.”

“You lying bastard.” The young man growled. “I warned you not to try anything funny. Now you've killed my grandpa.”

“Ah?” Someone muttered a distance away.

“He's awake. Stop.”

Akira finally grabbed the young man's hands, preventing him from raining down any more punches.

The young man slowly turned, his hand still gripped firmly in Akira's. The old man was breathing properly now, his eyes open.

The young man gasped. “Grandpa! You're awake.”

Akira pushed him away and he rushed to his old man, helping him to sit up.

The old man looked at Alvin, then the people around. “The young man saved me?”

The grandson nodded, grabbing his grandfather’s hand tightly.

The old man smacked his head twice.

“I've warned you about your hot temper and rude attitude, you actually hurt my benefactor.”

The young man pouted, his face squeezing into a frown. “You suddenly coughed up blood…I thought he killed you.”

Akira finally sat up, with a groan. So much for doing a good deed. All it brought him was a split lip and aching jaw.

He swiped his palm over his lips, wiping the blood. A drop of blood rubbed against the silver heirloom ring Akira always wore around his middle right finger.

Instantly, a blinding flash of silver light was emitted from the ring, gunning straight for Akira's forehead. The stunned Akira felt a blazing warmth sear into his forehead, alongside a light ding sound.

“God tier storage space binding complete. Current host: The blood Phoenix heir. Sealed abilities unlocking.”

A vast space appeared in his mind eye, stretching without end. In the space, a mighty library was revolving like a golden carousel, and a medicine cabinet was placed at another side, containing numerous bottles and boxes.

‘Where's this place?’

Before he could investigate further, a shadow fell across his vision, distracting him.

He looked up to see the young man staring at him with a complicated expression on his face. Beside him was a blonde beauty dressed in an expensive suit which Akira was sure cost millions—the kind of presence one could only see on television.

The crowd had moved further away, in their place were rows of expensive luxury cars which Akira didn't know when they arrived. Guards in suits stood outside the car, with two of them helping the old man up. It seemed they were from those powerful aristocratic capitalist families he only ever saw on news channels.

“Benefactor, are you alright?” The old man asked from behind.

Akira forced a smile and stood up, patting the sand away from his body. He then picked up his abandoned bag, and confirmed he still had his keys and the debit card left by the woman. Then he turned to leave.

“Wait!” The woman in a suit shouted. His steps paused, and the woman hurried to stand before him.

She bowed to him, startling Akira. “Benefactor, thank you for saving my grandfather’s life.”

The woman looked up, and for a fleeting moment, Akira noticed how breathtaking she was. Blonde hair, gunmetal blue eyes, perfectly shaped brows, small cupid lips.

In a way, she looked even better than the heiress from the hotel room. Were all wealthy heiresses this beautiful? Where's the fairness in life then?

“I'm deeply sorry for the way my younger brother treated you. Please accept my sincere apology.” She smiled warmly at him and motioned to an assistant standing closeby. “We're also willing to compensate you in any way we can. Please accept our sincerity.”

Akira forced a smile and shook his head.

“It's nothing. I don't need your compensation. I only did what I thought was right. Farewell.”

“You can ask for anything.” The girl quickly added, her pitch a bit high with desperation.

“I don't need it.” Akira furrowed his brows slightly, as if considering some things. He then turned to the woman. “Give me a pen and paper.”

They were immediately brought to him, he began to scribble things down on the paper. Once he was done, he extended it to the woman.

“Your grandfather has numerous health complications, and old wounds. If this continues, he could die within three months.”

The girl was immediately shocked, and her face blanched, despite her makeup.

“Take this.” Akira said again. “These herbs should buy him a few more years. As long as you follow the instructions properly, you can extend his life for another three to five years.”

The girl snatched the paper, her hands trembling from excitement. This was a woman who had signed contracts worth billions without batting a lash, yet she was unable to maintain composure in the face of the miracle presented by this nameless hobo-looking young man.

Her eyes brightened. She had a little bit of medical knowledge and recognized two of the herbs. This prescription truly seemed like it would be miraculous.

She quickly took pictures with her phone and backed it up. Then folded the paper neatly and placed it in her breast pocket like a priceless treasure.

“Benefactor, please wait.” The old man called from the luxury van whose interior looked more like a private jet.

Akira, who was about to leave, briefly paused, and turned to the man.

“Can you at least let me treat you to a meal?”

“I have something urgent to handle.” Akira offered him a tight smile, and shook his head. “How about this? If fate gives us another chance to meet, I will let you treat me to a meal.”

The old man's eyes narrowed, watching Akira leave without a backwards glance. He gestured towards one of the men.

“Immediately, as soon as possible, investigate him. I want to know everything about him.”

“Yes, patriarch.”

The young man got in beside his grandfather. “He already said it was alright,” He whined. “Why keep trying to find him?”

The man smacked his head hard…again. The boy hissed in pain. “Jackson, you're always reckless and childish. How can you be so shortsighted?”

The old man sighed and relaxed back into the seat. “I've finally met a master, and one so young. I will be a fool to let him slip away.”

“Akira, what do you think about the quiz this time? It was too difficult.” Brad whined, his shoulders slumped as he made his way through the courtyard. “Difficult?” Akira echoed, his brows slightly narrowed in confusion. “It was very simple. I wrote everything.”“Hey!” An excited voice shouting interrupted them. Akira turned to see Michael waving at them. He had run all the way to the medical college from his business faculty to go home with them. Another boy was behind him, Gavin, Michael’s good friend and course mate. They finally caught up with them, with Michael panting. “I thought I wouldn't catch up.”He finally noticed the stunned expression on Brad’s face, and his brows slightly furrowed. “What's wrong, Brad?”“Akira was saying the research methodology quiz was too simple. I didn't write half of it!”Michael shrugged. “Well, Akira has always been intelligent—almost genius level.”Brad sighed helplessly. “He didn't sleep last night. Wasn't Akira the person who couldn't funct

  • Becoming a multi millionaire

The sensible thing to do was close the book and go to sleep. But curiosity has always been Akira's weakness—like all scientists. He flipped to the next page. ‘Akira Luxon, select your customized heir's welcome gift.’Akira's eyes narrowed. Wasn't the blood Phoenix guide a general instruction guide for the clan's heirs? How come it had his name engraved on it? Or did his family customize them at birth? His eyes trailed down to the optionsA. Titan indestructible physiqueB. Discerning eyes [Wealth god's legacy]C. TeleportationAkira's eyes went straight to the number two option. As someone who didn't have much money growing up, wealth was the best option for him. If he had money, he wouldn't have been so easy to bully. If he had money, his mother wouldn't have died. The discerning eye was the most palatable. Not only could it help him tell the true nature of things, it could help him avoid some traps. As for the Titan stuff, he was already stronger than he ever expected to get, a

  • My blood can heal all diseases

Once Akira was sure his roommates were knocked out in a deep sleep, he woke up to check the ring again. He once heard ‘god-tier storage system binding complete’, but couldn't figure out how to check the interior. ‘Damn, I need to check inside.’ The thought sucked him back into the storage space. But this time, there was only one prominent item, a huge black book with red glows, similar to tiny fireflies surrounding it. He took a closer look at the book. On it was an ancient character which spelled ‘Blood Phoenix Guide’. Akira willed it to come out and it landed on his thigh. On coming out to the real world, the size of the book shrunk into that of a big textbook, no longer the gigantic box it once was. Shockingly, Akira could instinctively understand the characters in the book, as if they've been programmed into his DNA. He flipped open the first page. It was a very lifelike depiction of a man dressed in black trousers, shirtless, with only a wrap-around silk cloth over his arm

  • He's a genius

Helios medical InstituteThe old man Akira saved was currently in an advanced scan machine, with three medical professors watching the monitors and interpreting the results. Beside him, his two grandchildren stood, alongside a newer addition, a middle aged man who seemed to be their father. “This is impossible. How could this be?” One of the silver-haired professors exclaimed. The girl drew closer to the professor. “Uncle Tan, what's wrong? Did something happen to my grandfather?”The machine beeped at that moment, signalling the end of the scan session. The hatch was opened, and the old man was helped out of it. “This is nothing short of a medical miracle. Where did you meet this genius?” Another professor intoned. The old man's lips curved in a satisfied smile. He had never been wrong in reading people, and once again, he had been proven right. The silver haired professor whom the girl referred to as uncle Tan, smiled. “Miss Langford, your grandfather is in excellent health

Hostel 5, Sun City University. The moment Akira entered his hostel room, he met his two roommates in a heated discussion. On hearing the door open, they turned around. “Akira!” Brad exclaimed, rushing to him. The other one stood up from the desk he was initially perched on. “What happened to you man? You've been missing since you ran off yesterday morning. It's been twenty-four hours, we were debating whether to inform the police or wait.”Akira sighed and dumped the bag on his bed, sitting beside it. “It's a long story, Michael.”“I heard you were fired from the hospital yesterday, what are you going to do?” Brad's brows were furrowed, his hands on his waist. Like Akira, he was a medical student. He knew how important an internship was. Without it, they couldn't graduate. Now, videos accusing Akira of medical malpractice were flying around the internet and school forums. Getting another internship was basically impossible. Clinching the first one was hard enough, how would he gr
