Chapter 2

Shawn squinted slightly when he saw the blue holographic window before his eyes. This window in front of him gave a message that was very accurate to his current situation.

Shawn thought, "Is this a hallucination?"

He had to pinch his thigh to feel his senses. It hurt, but it still existed in the real world. If you look closely, this window is just like the one in the game. If this was indeed the same thing as that, then it was a perfect coincidence.

The large blue window was the size of a magazine book, which was very distracting to Shawn's vision. It was luminous and also slightly transparent.

Shawn felt his heart beating more relaxed than before. His instincts told him that this weirdness would be good for him.

Shawn said in his mind, "This kind of thing is what I've been waiting for. Whether it's real or not, it's coming to me."

Shawn was just an ordinary person who didn't stand out. He only worked odd jobs to make ends meet. It was a godsend that a miracle like the system chose him to help with his life.

All the tension that had been seeping into his body began to fade. His neck, which had been stiff became even more limp as he moved it to look at Rachel's arrogant face.

Rachel felt a little disturbed by Shawn's movement and seemed to steal a glance, "Shawn, what were you thinking? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Shawn wrinkled his forehead. "Ah, no. This window is interfering with my vision."

Shawn waved his hand slightly in front of his face, but it made Rachel squint slightly, surprised by Shawn's behavior. "Whatever, hurry up and make a decision!"

The system grasped the situation quickly and provided a very reasonable option. Judging from Rachel's expression, it seemed that this beautiful woman was unaware of the holographic window that had been lit up in front of Shawn.

[Ding!]

[You haven't chosen yet. Make your choice immediately.]

[Option 1: Sign the contract and get some nice gifts in return.]

[Option 2: Leave with some money, but no contract.]

Two really pushy choices. Although the system seemed to be trying to help Shawn, these options had their advantages and disadvantages, and Shawn couldn't avoid the consequences of the choices.

Shawn began to think, "Look at these choices. They're not something I can decide on carelessly. If I make the wrong choice, then I may experience great regret. The first choice was to sign the contract. Honestly, Rachel is very doubtful. She came out of the blue and immediately forced me to become her husband and father to her child, which was not necessarily mine. Rachel was indeed a gorgeous and charming elite woman, but marrying her would completely change my status. I would have to become a husband and a father in my early twenties.

“Moreover, the change in lifestyle would definitely be imposed by her because my life and hers were like heaven and earth. As for the second option, I rejected the contract and left with the compensation money. This option gave me a full life without restraints, and I could also take home the compensation money Rachel offered. However, the money is not worth the benefits I get if I take the first option."

These thoughts plagued his brain until Shawn began to feel his throat go dry. However, he needed to decide quickly.

In his mind, the first choice wasn't so bad. Shawn might experience major changes in his life by becoming Rachel's husband and fathering her child, but he could consider it a sacrifice for the benefits it would bring.

Swallowing, Shawn said to himself, "Choose the first option!"

Shawn took the contract and pretended to reread it. After a moment, Shawn glanced at Rachel. "Alright, I'll sign this contract. I will be your husband and the father of your child."

Rachel slightly raised the corner of her left lip. She felt a little relieved by the decision Shawn had made, at least for now.

Shawn picked up the pen on the table and thoughtlessly scratched black ink on it. Then he passed it to Rachel, who did the same. A contract had been formed.

[Ding!]

[You chose Option 1: Sign the contract and get some nice gifts in return.]

[A Black Card with a balance of 1 billion will be awarded.]

Rachel then put the document away and took out a card. "Good choice, Shawn. I'm glad that you're the kind of person who can use your brain well."

Harsh words, but Shawn took them in stride. Those words were no better than the benefits Shawn would get from the contract they had just made.

Rachel held out a bank card to Shawn. It was a black card. Shawn welcomed the card and looked at the details.

Rachel then said, "You have the card. I'll send your allowance through that bank account."

Rachel crossed her legs again and folded her arms in front of her chest. She shook her head slightly in concern for herself. It never occurred to Rachel that she would get pregnant just because of a mistake she made one night.

As a person with a big and respected name, Rachel could not possibly let it become a disgrace to her. People would shun and ridicule her if she got caught. It would be detrimental to her and her career. Therefore, Rachel thought of an idea to recruit Shawn to be her shield. For that, Shawn would have to marry her.

It seemed that for Rachel, Shawn was an easy man. Rachel thought that she would be able to have him with her money. That wasn't bad as long as Rachel could maintain her good name. With her beauty and wealth, Rachel could get any man she wanted. Just look, every man in this place is stealing glances at her. Pretending to drink coffee while glancing at her. Rachel said to herself, "You should be grateful, Shawn."

Shawn opened his wallet and put the card inside. "Thanks, I'll keep this."

Rachel took back her sunglasses and put them on. Those diligent and observant eyes were no longer visible to the men who had been watching her. "I'm warning you. You only need to play the role of my husband. However, you must not touch me at all. You must also do the housework such as washing and cleaning the entire house without leaving the slightest stain. You must also play the role of my family's son-in-law and be good to them. Most importantly, you must not tell anyone about our contract. Do you understand?"

Shawn nodded, "Okay. No problem."

Rachel then stood up, preparing to leave the place, even though she had not ordered any drinks. "Our business here is done. I'll be going."

Rachel said that without the slightest glance at Shawn. She didn't even care when he smirked at her. Instead, she walked straight to the black Lamborgini parked in front of the small coffee shop. The shiny car was so expensive that even if Shawn collected his salary for a year, it would only be enough to buy the wheels.

Rachel left the place, leaving a deep impression on Shawn. Shawn was in awe of Rachel's lifestyle.

Shawn leaned his back against the chair. "Being the husband of a super-rich woman, huh? What a great opportunity for me."

Shawn felt that this was an important time in his life. All this time, Shawn had been working for a meager wage, plus he needed to support his family in the village. Sending some of his money to the village had been difficult for Shawn.

However, with the contract he had just agreed to, Shawn believed he could make the most of this situation to change his lifestyle. Also, this way, he could more easily help his family in the village.

Shawn muttered, "Being a husband? It might not be bad. Isn't it the system?"
