Sinking Heart

Sometimes...it just feels like the world itself hates me.

The weather matched Maxus' mood. The heavy rain, the dark sky, even things like the eerily silent environment and coldness of the atmosphere, everything seemed to reflect how he was feeling. The teenager reached his home as the Soultaker, drenched completely and began undressing, removing the pieces of clothing and armor on his body.

"Why..." Maxus muttered, collapsing onto his couch in defeat.

He didn't want to feel anything anymore. Yet again, because of him...someone else he didn't want to die was now gone.

Ding.

Maxus reluctantly dragged his phone out of his pocket, looking at the notifications on the screen. Usually, he would he on cloud nine, messages from Leah asking if she could visit. He didn't want to throw his problems onto her again...she really doesn't deserve any of this.
