The New Kingdom of Jola

It's been a Month since I arrived in Jola. I have been acting sick all this time by staying in my room because I have been making Rules and Plans for the future like I said I plan getting revenge and also making a peaceful place just like my mom wanted. All my 300 Knights have been working sincerely because one has to know my mother was like there savor in their eyes why because they all were deemed to be useless knights for the empire so they were to be removed from their duties but my mother hired them with whatever money she had and looked after them as they were her family.

This is the reason why I trust them with my life.

The city of 900 citizens has been transforming this whole month. This place used to have more then thousands of citizens that's why it was called Jola City but now that there are less than thousand people I don't know I should still call it a city (it's more like a town isn't it?).

I walked out of my room towards the stables where I found a few young stable boys feeding the horses and so knights chatting with them. As soon as the Knights saw me they ran towards me and knelt. The Stable boys were shocked by their actions as they saw them kneeling before a 15 year old like themself but suddenly something clicked in their minds and they did the same.

"Stand up Guys I was Thinking now that I am alright I should see what my subjects are upto and yeah I have an announcement to make so we will be touring the city"

"Yes your highness we will ask the stables to get your Cartridge" Said John, a Knight Captain.

as such we started our ride. Hughes was the Dockes at the moment , he was helping the fishermen transporting the soil so I was riding with John.

The city has been changing as everyone seems to be more healthy because they didn't need to worry about food anymore and focus on the work they were doing. There was smoke coming from a far away place near the south Estate where the blacksmiths were working. That's right Nille had taken in some assentents. while moving I saw small green plants growing in a nearby open space this was because of the soil and potatoes.after a few minutes ride we arrived at the blacksmith workplace in the South Estate, this use to be a noble estate but the Blacksmiths have taken it to make blast furnace that's right the 3 Designs were Soil Cage , blast furnace and Steam Engine.

They Have made the first 2 Designs in the last month but they haven't finished the Steam Engine yet. It was complicated and they had little manpower so it was reasonable. another thing was they needed Steel to make it but that was only possible with Blast Furnace so now that they made a Blast Furnace , they started working on Steam Engines however there was a problem and that was we didn't have enough raw material so we can only make one Steam Engine till we find more Iron.

I wanted to make Steam Engines Priority because we don't have much manpower we only have 500 adults and I need them in different projects right now most of the people are working to grow potatoes and collect the soil while others like the women are working on making clothes that's right we still don't have enough clothing to keep everyone warm as such more than 300 people are working on these 2 things while other 200 are working with the fishermen in transporting the soil and some in the blacksmith's workshop while some are learning how to read and write so they can help Sarah in administering rations for everyone.

The lack of manpower is so bad that I can't even start cement production ,weapon production and other small things ha.. I really need that Steam Engine so I can make things faster.

As soon as I stepped out of my Cartridge the Knights stationed here knelt on one leg, the blacksmiths who were working were confused for a second but they soon realized who I was because of my hair color and they did the same.

"at ease" I said as I walked towards Nille.

Nille stand up and said "Your Highness it's good to see that you have recovered"

"Yeah Mr.Nille anyway how is the progress?"

"Your Highness everything is going smoothly , I estimate we will be able to make it in 2 more weeks"

"Don't push yourselves if you don't have to , there no need for you to spoil your health while trying to give better lives to others then there really no point in doing it"

"I .. Thanks your highness"

"Alright I will be moving on now I want to see how the transport of the sea bed is going, oh yeah come to the city square at evening I have an announcement to make"

"I will be there your Highness"

with that I left..

At the docks Richard and Hughes were chilling as they had been working for hours. They talked about the capital , noble rumores etc . They really became good friends last month. As such They were just chilling after work and suddenly they saw a cartridge moving towards the dock.. after a few minutes it stopped at the docks and out came a young man with red hair who looked like he was 15 or 16. Hughes Stood up and knelt in front of the young man seeing Richard's intects kicked in and he too did the same.

"Man you're always so serious Hughes come up stand up now"

"Well I can't really disrespect you brat in front of your subjects can I?"

"what did you say?"

"Nothing your highness haha"

Hughes use to always make fun off me or do stupid stuff like this but he stopped doing it after my mother died , I think he wanted give me space so.. but now he had started to come back to his old self.

"So how's everything ?"

"With me being here, what do you think?"

"I want a real answer here"

"ok so we believe one more batch of Sea Bed will be Enough to start transforming the West Estate and Port area Green"

"That's good with this we can let the fishermen do there real job"

"Yes your Highness"

"Alright then it's almost time for the announcement lets go"

"Yeah lets go"

In the middle of the city there was a huge stone platform. This is where previously the nobles used to make announcements standing on it were Eugene,Hughes,Richard,Jessica , Nille , Sarah and a few knights.

Everyone was told to come to the Square when a big crowd was formed Hughes Spoke.

"Today Citizens of Jola, we are here to make an announcement as per his highness's wishes that from today this city will no longer be a city!"

As soon as he said that the silent crowd started whispering and talking, what does he mean by no longer a city? Is his highness going to leave them? Are they going back to their old ways again? These questions bothered them.

"Well don't worry folks and calm down,let his highness answer your worries then" Hughes smirked and went back while a young 15 year old boy in silk robe walked on to the platform. Everyone was shocked to see a handsome boy come onto the stage. They were thinking that this boy would have been some noble but they never thought that this young man was the one who changed their barren land and gave them better lives.

"Citizens of Jola today I declare Jola as an independent kingdom that will not be under any empire!! those bastards of Ancorna killed my mother banished me from my people!! abandoned you people here! So why should we serve them! I will not! we will not! We don't need their support to survive, my people. You can see the changes happening in the city in just a month. We will make our own kingdom way better than their bullshit empire!"

Everyone was going through a million expressions in a few seconds because this news was way above what they expected, making a new kingdom? that to right under the noses of the empire? doesn't that mean war? But what can these few people do?

"ha ha Don't worry folks those bastards will not even know what is happening here before it's too late!" Eugene said

"We will make a kingdom far more powerful than their empire. I know it seems impossible but it's not! I will make sure your lives are never in danger. We people of Jola will make them beg for forgiveness!"

Even Hughes and others were surprised  they knew they were going to announce making a Kingdom but they didn't know they were becoming Independent.

"I know you guys are thinking his highness is crazy, yes I am and that craziness is what made me turn this desert green , So will you be crazy with me or will I go back to those Ancorna bastards who don't even see you as people?"

Suddenly people started shouting

"hail the Jola kingdom!" "Long live his Majesty Eugene!"

Everyone remembered the people that died because of hunger when Ancorna just forgot about them but now his Majesty Eugene is not only feeding them but also wants to make them free. How can they not support him?
